Victor Osimhen could not inspire Napoli to a home win, as they suffered another setback in their quest for the Serie A title after playing 1-1 at home against AS Roma.
A 91st minute goal from Stephane El Sharaawy cancelled out Lorenzo Insigne’s 11th minute penalty and denied Napoli the crucial win.
Recall Napoli lost 3-2 at home to Fiorentina in their last league fixture and have now failed to win in back-to-back home games.
The result means Napoli remain in third place on 67 points and are are four points behind leaders AC Milan.
Osimhen was replaced by Dries Mertens with seven minutes left in the game.

Napoli were awarded a penalty after Roger Ibanez clumsily bundled into the back of Hirving Lozano and after an on-field VAR review the penalty was awarded.
Insigne converted calmly into the near bottom corner, despite Rui Patricio picking the right angle.
Napoli had a double chance to extend their lead but former Manchester United defender Chris Smalling made a block on Osimhen and Patricio stuck out a hand to deny Lozano at the near post on the rebound.
Nicola Zalewski tested Meret at the near post, while Gianluca Mancini made a crucial block on Osimhen straight after the restart.
Osimhen beat the offside trap on a ball over the top and shrugged off his marker only to hit the side-netting.
But in the first minute of stoppage time Roma got their equaliser with a well-worked move from right to left, with Tammy Abraham’s back-heel flick finding an unmarked El Shaarawy totally who swept in from just inside the area.

Napoli do not play like a title contender. The Coach seems to lack a bit if experience .it was a big error to pull out Osimhem when Roma were playing better and pressing. Osimhem high pressing was what was keeping Napoli in the Game .As soon as he was pulled Roma midfielder and Defenders all push forward and deservely got the equalizer
