Victor Osimhen is keen to play his way into in the Super Eagles’ final squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, reports Completesports.com.
Osimhen, who scored a hat-trick as the Nigeria’s Olympic team beat Libya 4-0 in Monday’s second leg clash at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba to qualify for the next round of the qualifiers with a 4-2 aggregate win, told Completesports.com that he will continue to work hard at club level to ensure he keeps his place in the team.
“I feel great scoring a hat-trick for my country and also helping the team qualify for the next round, but now I just want to get back to my club and keep working hard and see what the future holds. I hope I get picked for the AFCON,” Osimhen told Completesports.com.
“Competition is getting tougher and I must toughen up as well to make the squad.”
Osimhen faces real competition from Odion Ighalo the Super Eagles first choice striker and the rave of the moment Paul Onuachu, Henry Onyekuru, Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu in the Super Eagles attack.
The 20-year-old who attracted concrete interest from Italian giants AC Milan during the January transfer window but declined also believes he won’t be short of offers should he decide to leave Wolfsburg permanently in the summer.
“We just have to wait to see what happens in the summer, but definitely, I believe that more teams will come and I will decide if I have to move or not.”

Don’t worry, Osimhen. Some of us know the final 23 already and you’re there. We have seen the sheet. Lol.
Look at this young man’s face. A real U-20. This is the way it should be. Yes, the competition for places will be tough, and Rohr has the final say. But if it was up to me, Osimhen is going to Afcon.
