Victor Osimhen was on target for but a late Isaac Success goal saw relegation threatened Udinese force Napoli to a 1-1 home draw in Monday’s Serie A game.
It was Osimhen’s 15th goal in 23 league appearances for the former Serie A champions.
The reigning African Player of the Year has scored four goals in his last five league fixtures.
For Success, it is his first goal for Udinese since April 2023.
Also in action in the league game was Maduka Okoye who featured in his 18th league game.
After a goalless first half, Osimhen gave Napoli the lead in the 51st minute.
Matteo Politano floated in a cross with his weaker right foot from the right flank, Osimhen got between two defenders to nod in from six yards.

But in the 92nd minute Udinese equalised who when Kristensen knocked down a cross at the back post, Success took a touch to control and turned in from six yards for his first Serie A goal in over a year.
Napoli are now winless in their last four games (three draws, one loss) while Udinese have recorded three defeats and two draws in their last five games.
While Osimhen was replaced with three minutes left, Success was brought on in the 53rd minute.
The draw moved Napoli to eight on 51 points and Udinese are 18th on 30 points and are two points away from safety.

Some fans will begin to ask finidi to call Isaac success to super eagles now. Just watch the comments on this post (laugh)
I can understand bro.
I think most of us fans dont really follow Nigeria players’ Updates.
That is laughable clamoring for someone whose last goal for his club was April 2023 and another goal in May 2024 and maybe another goal will come April 2025! One goal per year striker coming to displace those scoring week in week out for club? Please let Isaac Success be and allow him focus on his club career.
We don’t need him in the Super Eagles for now
I can understand bro.

I align fully with the submission of the first commenter. However, the Super Eagles Head Coach, Coach Finidi knows what’s at stake and. May not listen to football fans for direction. He should rather be studying the videos of the lads. Lives in GH
@Christian Ministries I have been Calling for Success Since he played Almost 90mins of everygame last season for Udinese. He has been on an Upward Trajectory for over two years since joining Udinese he just needed to add the goals end product if you like to his game as his in game knowledge was starting to get to where I always knew he could reach from his Under-17 days…
You see if you look back at threads I have mentioned Success Name albeit I feel for now the likes of Lookman are ahead of him but, Success is ahead of Musa and he is one of the reasons I always get frustrated with Musa invites becuase guys like Success miss out. Last Season Success was providing assists but playing even more regulary than Lookman in seria A don’t believe me go and research.. Anyway I guess with Finidi at the helm guys like this will be frozen out completely to accomodate Homebased players because in Nigeria Homebased are somehow funnily regarded a higher level than the likes of Lookman Success and co
Ugo you’re right about your observations on success. He was really playing regularly and also playing well last season.
Though he has not been scoring many goals. That can be a minus. But we can’t deny the fact that he has got the talent too.
People like success have been very unlucky. For some of us who followed him right from under 17 he was just phenomenal until that injury where awoniyi replaced him.
If he can just add some goals to his game he should be a strong contender but now we have lots of attackers who are playing too and are scoring. This is where he will have problems.
I think Musa is history in the super eagles. I believe so. Well you can never tell. Anything is possible in Nigeria.
Isaac Success is not an option and never will when Nigeria has an array of attacking No 9s in Osimhen, Awoniyi, Sadiq Umar, Boniface or even Kelechi Ihenacho. Now tell me, who among these lads is Isaac Success coming to displace or replace? With Adebayo of Luton town begging to play for Nigeria and Chuba Akpom waiting to be called we have an array of attacking options.
If you are making case for Isaac Success you can as well ask Ighalo to come back to play for Nigeria.
Please let Isaac Success be and let him focus on his club career, his career in the Super Eagles has passed.
Baba, you no know say Success will bring SUCCESS to SE?
Hahaha!
But you do have a point. As Christian Ministries also mentioned, Success faces an uphill battle coming back to the team due to the intense competition in the striker department. Nonetheless, he is still relevant to the SE, even though he is down in the pecking order. If he puts in the work, distinguishes himself and becomes one of our best, I see no issue if he is invited. After all, we no dey look face. Na goals we dey find!
I guess Isaac doesnt have much…success
Isaac and Success are like 5 & 6.
Everywhere Isaac goes, Success must follow.
