Victor Osimhen returned to action for Napoli but could not inspire them to victory as they were held to a goalless draw by visiting Verona in Saturday’s Serie A game.
Osimhen had missed Napoli’s last three games after suffering a muscle injury while on international duty with Nigeria.
The 23-year-old came on in the 73rd minute
but could not help his side seal the three points.
He had the best chance of the evening for the Partenopei but hit the crossbar minutes after his introduction.
He should be in the starting lineup when Napoli host AC Milan in the Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday.
The draw means Napoli, who are on 75 points, are now 14 clear of second-placed Lazio with eight games left.

A lot of starters were subbed on. They gonna put all their eggs in the 2nd leg of the champions league and gonna go all out. Are we starting to see the wheels fall off? I wouldn’t be surprised. For a couple of seasons even with Gatuso they would be in the top 4 then let it slip away. But they got the serie a title in the bag, so thats why they probably didnt go all out for this game. They are down 1 goal to a mediocre milan team. Osimhen better get ready for next week. This is literally the chance to make it to the champions league final. But hes been to busy telling english network how he loves the premier league while hes playing for another. Thats tacky, especially knowing the the team depends on you
How has osimhen been busy talking to the English media?……When did osimhen make that love for EPL statement?……Was he speaking to the English press when he made the statement?….Your comments on osimhen on this platform has always smelled of jealousy resentment and disgust and I wonder why!…… Please wish osimhen well so that you can progress in life because God brings down people who hate other people’s progress.
