Victor Osimhen bagged a brace in Napoli’s first game of the new season as they defeated newly promoted Frosinone 3-1 away in Saturday’s Serie A game.
The Super Eagles striker finished top scorer last season with 26 goals which helped Napoli emerge champions for the first time since 1990.
Frosinone took the lead just seven minutes into the game after Abdou Harroui scored from the penalty spot.
Napoli were back on level terms thanks to Matteo Politano who got on the score sheet in the 24th minute.

Akor scored twice in France. Osmimhen scored twice in Italy. Boniface, Awoniyi and Dessers all scored for their clubs. Seems Nigerian strikers are on fire in Europe this season. Congrats to them all.
Akor scored once, boniface didnt score but provided an assist. Just making clarifications but yes, our strikers have started well
Thanks bro. Guess I read a wrong report.
Oh boi Akor scored once and one was called off and Boniface only Assists he didn’t score any goal yet ok
So don’t bring fake news to our dear score lover’s here… Victor scored twice Yes Awoyini scores too
For now , Nigeria has best strikers in woorld football. Our problem ismidfield and goal keeper
Akor toping goal scorers chart in France with 3 goals in 2 match
Oshimen toping goal chart in Italy..
Awoniyi 2 goals in 2 matches in the epl
I think the likes of iheancho, onuachu etc should give way for the top boys going their thing in the top leagues..
Oshimen should be rested for our next super eagles game with either orban or Boniface called up to replace him..
In midfield we should try nwankali as he is playing top games in Portugal, with ifeanyi in Zurich fc.. forounsho is playing in Verona but I don’t if he is eligible for super eagles..
September is a good opportunity to try new players
Stop adding Kelechi to your nonsense list of rejection. This shows the level of your misjudgment just like one clown who said Awoniyi is better than Osimhen because of his recent form. Huh you people should come and celebrate player’s performance but don’t condemn players who don’t score in a particular week because there are other qualities that makes a team work.
Iheancho is a good player, no doubt, but we have already qualified for the Afcon and there is need to give new players a chance so we see what they can do especially now we have excess strikers all doing well..
If you read what I wrote carefully, you would notice I also suggested that oshimen should be rested for the next match.. I will prefer, awoniyi, moffi/akor and either Boniface or orban as our strikers for the next game.. I want to see what awoniyi can do when he starts a game for super eagles.. scoring in the epl is not an easy feat especially going it week in week out.. I want to also see orban and Boniface probably as a substitute striker..
Let iheancho and oshimen give the other strikers a chance.. we are already through to the Afcon..
Another department will not get right with the next game is the midfield… Let’s see nwakali and ifeanyi,, these two boys are playing every week for their clubs side..
I want to also see onyemachi for left back and bring back awaziem.. they are toping the Portuguese leagues at the moment..
Let’s give fringe players some game time we might unearth a star with the next game than playing the regulars we already know
start counting the goals to another top scorers award for the new season. all the best
dont know if we have the best strikers in the world, but we definitely have some of the most in form strikers currently in the top 5 leagues in europe:
awoniyi – premiership (england) ( 2 goals in 2 games)
Osimhen – Italy (2 goals scored today)
Akor adams – france (scored again today, 3 goals in 2 games)
Boniface – Germany ( had an assist today)
Sadiq – spain (waiting for him to start showing us all what he can do)
The act of scoring goals os easy with an efficient midfield and a stable defense. No matter how good your strikers are when they are not oiled by good midfielders they will labor for in vain. We need hard working midfielders . Then we can confidently say bring any team in the world . Without this any balanced team with good defense can contain the pressure of our strikers and get a slim victory over us.
Italian SERIA A today had about 7 players of NIGERIAN DESCENT who featured.
1. Victor OSIMHEN…Napoli
2.. Tyrone Ebuehi….Empoli
3. Michael Folorunsho…Hellas Verona
4. Samuel KAYODE…Fiorentina (Right back)
The future is bright
The future is bright but only with a good coach plus good managment.
Osimhen has added another devastating dimension to his game….. You guys should notice the one time rocket of a shot he unleashed for the first goal….The second goal too was very clinical and he took it with the maturity of a veteran striker….. osimhen wants to tell the world that last season was not a fluke hence the additional killer instinct he has added to his game this season.
