Awesome!!!!.. We need this to be the Standard of Super Eagles. No More Bench warmers calling the shot and wearing the Captains armband it is criminal. This must be the Standard of super Eagles, if we are to put our name in the same breath as teams like Morocco, Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana. We can’t be stuck in our own Nigerian little Bubble world were we make ubsurd and mediocre decisions based on politics and think the name Nigeria will carry us through because of what we achieve in 1994 Nigerians really need to wake up enough is enough!!!. Players like Osimhen, Ndidi, Lookman and so forth have reached a stage where they are now the seniors of the national team no more carrying a fulani crook to the international stage on the false pretences that he is a ‘so called’ Senior in the team. he is finished that is what he is a finished used and surplus to requirement player it is 2023 for GOODNESS SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wen is NIGERIA senior team playing again sef? i cant wait to see what the list of player will be. ofcourse, we cant continue to patronize some old legs in the name of national whatever….top performance in their respective clubs should be the yardsticks for calling up players. i love what i see in osimen and lookman…very solid guys…NAPOLI can have lookman in their team now.
@TOD_ end of March AFCON Qualifiers.
Agreed with Ugo. There should not be a place for second class players in the National team no more. Ndidi, Emmanual Dennis, Iheanacho, Ekong, Balogun, and one or two others should all be retired because they are tired to the bream. Their legs are tired too.
Players should be called up based on their current form and their Club ratings, not on any other considerations.
Some of the players you mentioned like Iheanacho and Dennis are not bad players. Thank God you are not the coach!!!
Dennis has attitude problem that he needed to deal with otherwise he’s going to be Nigerian BALOTELLI
The fact is that I’ve noticed on this page that when a player scores one or two goals people start making a list of players to be invited for matches, and the next moment when the player fails to score he is ridiculed and termed as bad. Emmanuel has attitude problem but with time he will come good but adding Kelechi to the list of odd players is annoying.
As well as Adding Ndidi, Ndidi is still finding his feet since injury he is only 26 years old and has done so much for Leicester City at the highest level he is still Nigeria’s best Midfielder. He deserves more respect than that suggesting that Double Engine be dropped is tantamount to suicide for Nigerian ball. He needs a new challenge Ndidi Needs to leave Leicester even if he stays he is still their best Midfielder and is starting to get a run of games now.
Iheanacho and Ndidi are less than 25 years and they play top flight football in a top 5 league and can still come good in the future so you can’t just write them off because they are having a bad period of form……Any player in his late 20s or early 30s and still playing in Division 2 or mushroom league should avoid our SE Because such a play is already on a downward spiral of his career.
It is not all about age or what Club a player is currently playing in. It is all about their current forms and usefulness for the club. The Leicester coach is not happy with Ndidi and Ihenacho with their current forms. I wouldn’t there mention their names in such a fashion a year or two ago. Since Ndidi returned from his injuries, he has never been the same again playing for his club. Iheanacho have been worming the bench this season more than he is to start a game. These two players have contributed less than expected of themselves on the field of play this season. Why should Nigeria inherit their liabilities to the detriment of the entire team.? Leicester Club may be relegated to the second division this season, l may add. At their zenith moments, these two players were the best in Africa. But, right now, they have lost their ways. l said this with much regret.
It’s great seeing these two exciting Nigerian players reaching for the sky. Kudos to Osimhen and Lookman! So far as they stay focused, both are not far from realizing their full potentials, to the benefit of Nigeria Super Eagles.
By the way Tyronne Ebuehi also had a great game on Monday, scoring the only goal of the game which handed his team Empoli victory over Fiorentina. Gradually, Tyronne is getting back to the form that made him the toast of Super Eagles fans before the unfortunate long term injury in Benfica.
