Victor Osimhen has been included in Napoli’s 22-man traveling squad to face Bologna in the Serie A on Monday.
The squad was published on Napoli’s verified Twitter handle on Sunday.
Osimhen has been out of action for Napoli after suffering a facial injury, during a league clash against Inter Milan back in November last year.
The 23-year-old had to be substituted and rushed to hospital following a head collision with Inter’s Milan Skriniar.

He underwent surgery and was ruled out for three months but made a remarkable recovery, which saw him included in the Super Eagles’ 28-man squad for the AFCON 2021.
However, he tested positive for coronavirus and had to be dropped by interim coach Austine Eguavoen.
And after recovering from COVID-19, he is now set to return to action for Napoli on Monday.
The former Lille star, who has scored five goals in 11 league games this season, has missed Napoli’s last 11 games since his injury.
Napoli are currently in third place on 43 points, seven points behind leaders Inter Milan in the league standing.

That was Napoli’s plan the whole time: say he’s Covid positive and keep him out of the AFCON. Then wait for a week or two and he’s back playing in Serie A for Napoli…and the NFF fell for the scam. It’s a shame!
Nice to see you back vic…… playoffs for world cup will your SE welcome back party
Nff you be really mugu. This boy should have in the afcon atleast starts playing from knock out rounds. Look countries like Senegal has a foobal administration smarter than you. Napoli strategically kept this boy away from afcon so could be useful for them in January
You are right @ chinenye.some people don’t look at what other countries are doing.maybe the presumed the super Eagles will exit in the first round.CAF it self should move this competition from january
Corrections maybe the presumed
Correction maybe they presumed
Presume what? When was the last time super eagles went out of the afcon group stage? Even third place is a disappointment to Nigeria considering our status in african football.
Victor was simply used to exposed the deficiency, incompetence and lackadaisical attitude of nff
I said it as copied below on earlier thread but guys were calling me names, even questioning my qualifications and saying I am a fake doctor / surgeon who is not in the league or Prof Tartaro. We can now see who is real now:

Dr Banks
Thank you at Collins Id, The surgeon is only talking on behalf of Napoli’s interest. Callus formation is already established by 3 weeks and the 3 months he mentioned is for long bones in the weight bearing regions like the legs, thighs, pelvis, spine and the feet. The range is generally 3 weeks to 3 months depending on factors such as the alignment of the fractured bones, bone size, dependent or pressure area, displaced fractures, mode of treatment (surgical of conservative)
The smaller the bones, the quicker the healing process and the lesser the daily pressure exerted on the healing callus the quicker the complete healing.. And the use of surgical treatment with pins, screws & plates assist further in ensuring great alignment of the bones hence less amount of callus formation is required to form a bridge between the fractured bones to heal quicker.
I know all these because am a specialist surgeon in a first world country. Don’t allow these white people to bully Nigeria into submission on this issue. Why did Napoli refused that Osimhen should come over to Nigeria and be assessed by the Orthopaedic Specialists in Lagos, rather they said they are willing to pay the SE team Doctors to fly to Italy for the assessment to be done in Naples
Below was my earlier submission on CSN about this issue:
@Pompei, @Deo and @Richie, I maintained that Osimhen is fully fit to participate in AFCON because his injury is healed and all he needs is the protective face mask to protect against direct trauma.
Don’t allow Napoli to bully him or Nigeria with their gimmick just because he’s an African. I know what am talking about as I am specialist surgeon myself.
Did you guys forget so soon the Kevin De Bruyne injury on 29th May 2021 during Champions league final, he had surgery on 2nd June and was fit to play Belgium’s 2nd group game on 17th June 2021 (that was just a 2 week recovery period)
De Bruyne, 29, suffered fractures to his nose and left eye socket during Manchester City’s 1-0 loss to Chelsea in last Saturday’s Champions League final and Martinez had previously said he would not need surgery.
During a press conference on Saturday, Martinez said De Bruyne “will not need a long recovery” following the operation but remains a doubt for Belgium’s opening game of this summer’s European Championship on June 12.
Thank you doc, it just shows the incompetence of amaju picnic nff.
NFF simply fell for Napoli’s crazy mind games.
It only smacks of a very weak administration
We always call ourselves giant of Africa and the way we handle things most of the time lack sense.
When they brought up the tactic of him having Covid, I was expecting NFF to say that they would look after him. The treatment can’t last more than three weeks and would have still be able to join the team for the knockout stage.
Senegal never called themselves giant of Africa and they knew what to do for the players that were declared Covid positive.
May God give the people in charge of affairs of things in this country sense. Amen.
God bless Nigeria.
Senegal fa demanded for their players presence in the camp and Watford released him immediately until he was tested by Senegal team’s doctors and confirms he won’t be fit to play at the ongoing afcon.
What happens to Nigeria doing the same with our team’s doctors? Who are the abokis running our football for Heaven’s sake? We lost two promising stars(Dennis and Osihmen) in this afcon because of incompetence football administrators whose only interest is embezzlement
Dr Banks, I remember your submission.
My take on this is that, caf should seat down and find away to move afcon to summer instead of engaging it during winter, cus this European clubs paid this africa players wages and they think since they paid this players their wages, releasing them during winter when they need them most africa deprived them of their rights, so caf should find away to move afcon to mid year, so that we can have all our best africa players honoring the tournament.
Have you forgotten that most part of Africa experience heavy rainfall during the period you are advocating for!
Concerning nff administrative way i want to say when administrators turned to politicial this are the things that is going to be happening.
So now the 90days have expired abi? I think the NFF can stop Napoli from playing him too base on the medical statement that prevented him from playing in the AFCON.
“Osimhen’s upcoming medical check-in Naples is crucial to assess his injury Gianpaolo Tartaro, the doctor who performed his surgery last month, said, “It takes from 60 to 90 days for the bone callus formation unless there is a biological Christmas miracle.”
@Dr Banks just read the link u posted above. Of a truth u forsaw this drama and posted it earlier. So Napoli Doctors can lie to protect the interest of Napoli? But if I may ask don’t they have a medical Department at the NFF that would replied to Napoli’s Doctors the way R
Dr banks detail it in this Forum. It’s a big shame the way every thing has pane out cos those white will feel they have used our head.
My brother I believe NFF guys are only interested in the position and the pecks that comes with it. They do not even know their key duties, no yearly Key Performance Assessment. Everybody just faces wherever they know extra money will drop and they simply cash on it.
The team Doctor should’ve insisted on assessing Osimhen while he was in 9ja for Xmas before jetting off back to Naples for Tartaro’s check up, possibly carry out a CT Scan or MRI so that they can compare notes with Tartaro’s report but lack of due diligence is our bane.
Imagine if Osimhen is available for the Knockout stages with him, Awoniyi and Iheanacho supported by Simon, Iwobi, Aribo, Ejuke, Chukwueze in that attack, we will simply stroll into final and grab the Cup seamlessly.
But we move on and after watching 2 games I can now confidently saying Eguavoen is on the right tract to making history with these Talented squad.
Good luck to us all guys
@ Fourfourtwo probably nff have medical department maybe is not functioning because of corruption.
Why are guys ranting Dr. Tartaro said it will take a Christmas miracle for osimhe to be backed before the three months earlier specified and the miracle did happened in Napoli, Itlay.
Abi don’t you guys belive in miracle ni?
Common if you want your own miracle this year find your way to italy.
Lol.
Even NFF needs miracle of brain overhauling so that next time they will learn how to be smart.
Napoli has been building a criminal reputation of late. Even Osihmen’s transfer that included player plus fee is still under investigation. With Napoli overvaluing the add on players, sooner or later they’ll face FIFA hammer!
