Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, missed the chance to equal David Trezeguet’s Serie A scoring record, following Napoli’s shock 1-0 home loss to Lazio on Friday night.
A goal for Osimhen would have seen him become the second play to score in nine straight games after France and Juventus legend Trezeguet.
However, it was not to be as Matias Vecino’s strike gave Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio a shock victory at the Stadio Maradona, inflicting only the second Serie A defeat of the season for Napoli. The other loss was 1-0 away to Inter on January 4.

Lazio had the first big chance on five minutes, as Luis Alberto’s free kick was flicked on by Vecino and Giovanni Di Lorenzo had to perform a goal-line clearance, as it was going into the far top corner.
Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s strike was deflected just over the bar, but Ivan Provedel crucially got his fingertips to a Chucky Lozano cross before Osimhen could tap in behind him.
Napoli began to build the pressure, with shots deflected wide, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia’s free kick off target and Zielinski drilling past the post after an Osimhen back-heel flick.
However, Lazio took the lead on 67 minutes somewhat against the run of play, as Kvaratskhelia’s headed clearance was allowed to bounce and Vecino thumped it in low on the half-volley from well outside the box into the near bottom corner.
Eljif Elmas went on a run from his own half and saw the finish deflected over by Romagnoli, but there was a huge double chance when Osimhen’s header thumped the crossbar.

I gently opposed those interviews he gave the media because once you start entertaining social media fame and all that the next thing is nosedive. It happened with Halaand, Lookman also went on talking spree that he will outscore Osigoal the next thing was a goal dry run. Something good hardly come out of this media people let us be wise to decline them until the job is done as he was until he allowed them to get into him this week. Now it will be a miracle if Napoli wins the UCL after all those unnecessary revelation to them by Osimhen……
I was expecting you…..Always looking for the slightest negativity to feast upon…… From the very beginning of the season key players are obligated to talk to the media and undergo media briefing which is part of the marketing aspect of major leagues…….There are prematch and postmatch press conferences……there media chats……there are some cases where players have to speak to the club website and fan vlogs……it’s all part of the modern game my dear friend and local medias like CSN go to this places to copy and paste news for us………Back to the topic……Napoli also lost their first game of this year to inter and many Messengers of doom predicted that it was their Time to nosedive but it took 12 matches afterwards for them to taste another defeat in open play so chill out.
Go back to the interview link published and see my feedback….. I am not commenting for shallow minded people like…. And the fact that eye brows will be raised is the more reason I put it out here. I repeat again Osimhen should avoid media thing and leave it to those who eat the fruit of it….. Lookman bragged whiles Osigoal was quiet and we know the history, the one who was quiet continued scoring and the latter started to struggle. The bible says God uplift the humble and also it will do a lot of good to remain focus and talk everything to the world people. AKP or whatever learn to be wise!!!
*than talk everything to the world
