Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala is delighted to be part of Barcelona Ladies side that made it to the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time ever, reports Completesports.com.
The Nigeria international featured as a substitute as the Blaugrana narrowly edged out Bayern Munich 1-0 at home – at the Miniestadi on Sunday.
Lluis Cortes’ ladies advanced into the final on a 2-0 aggregate win having won the first leg, semi-final tie last Sunday 1-0 in Munich.
It was the first time Barcelona made it to the final of the competition and they also made history as the first Spanish side to achieve the feat.
An elated Oshoala who came in as a 71st minute for England forward Toni Duggan in the encounter took to Twitter to celebrate the amazing feat.
“HISTORY……🔵🔴🔵🔴 @FCBfemeni,” Oshoala tweeted.
The 24-year-old has made nine appearances in all competitions for Barcelona since linking up with the club on loan from Chinese club Dalian Quanjian in February.
Oshoala has scored seven goals in six league games this season.
The Spanish giants will face Olympic Lyon in the final of the competition on May 18 in , Hungary.
