Gift Orban is expected to be suspended for two games after he was sent off in KAA Gent’s 2-1 win over KAS Eupen last Sunday.
Orban received a red card a minute before the break for punching an opponent.
It’s the first time the 21-year-old will be sent off in 57 professional games.
According to information on Gent’s official website, the striker will miss one game, while the other will be postponed.
The Federal Public Prosecution Service requests a two-match suspension for Gift Orban , one of which is postponed. Orban received a red card in the match against Eupen after he pushed an opponent,”reads the statement.

The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office ruled that it involved “physical misconduct”, and more specifically “a brutal push with high intensity”. For Orban it is the first red card in 57 professional matches . According to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, that clean criminal record works to his advantage: “A minimum suspension of two matches – being the lower limit as determined in the indicative table – is appropriate,” it said. Furthermore, a fine of 1,500 euros is requested.”
Gent are expected to respond to the verdict not later than Tuesday (today).
The Nigeria international will miss the Buffalos league match against Royal Antwerp on Wednesday.
He is expected to return to action against RWD Molenbeek on Sunday.
The striker has struggled in front of goal this season after his impressive showing last term.
