Nigerian striker Gift Orban opened his goals account for the new season in the Belgian topflight, as Gent beat Kortrijk 3-2 on Sunday, Completesports.com reports.
Orban scored in the 71st minute to put Gent 3-1 ahead before Kortrijk pulled a goal back with four minutes left to play.
It is Orban’s second goal in all competitions for Gent so far this new campaign.
The 21-year-old got one of the goals in his team’s 5-1 win against Zilina in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Sunday’s win against Kortrijk took Gent to third behind leaders Genk and second placed Union St. Gilloise in the league table.
League champions Royal Antwerp, who signed Ejuke on loan from CSKA Moscow, pipped Cercle Brugge 1-0.
Orban was impressive for Gent last season despite only joining them during the January transfer window.
He scored 15 goals in 16 appearances in the league last season.

Boy has started where he stopped last season. Still surprised he’s yet to leave this Belgian Club. A move to the French league will be a tremendous benefit to career
COACH PASEIRO SHOULD INVITE GIFT ORBAN AND OTHERS LIKE AKPOM, EBUEHI, OSIGWE, DESSERS, AL-HASSAN, BONIFACE, ONYEDIKA, EJARIA FOR LAST WORLD CUP QUALIFIER AGAINST SAO TOME. ALL THESE PLAYERS ARE IN TOP FORM, REGULAR AND CONSISTENT.
PADEIRO SHOULD STOP INVITING UN-INFORM, INCONSISTENT, IRREGULAR, BENCH-WARMER PLAYERS LIKE AHMED MUSA, ONUACHU, ARIBO, IHEANACHO, OMERUO, NDIDI. WE ARE TIRED OF SEEING ALL THESE UNFIT OLD CARGO PLAYERS.
*** WHEN GERNOT ROHR WAS IN CHARGE, HE BROUGHT IN SO MANY NEW PLAYERS LIKE EZENWA, EBUEHI, COLLINS, MIKEL AGU, VALENTINE, AJAYI, AKPOGUMA, SOLOMON OTABOR, MOFFI, IDEYE, IWUALA, OSIMHEN, MAJA, ONUACHU, DESSERS, ARIBO, EJUKE, SAMUEL KALU.
*** INFACT, DURING GERNOT ROHR’s TIME, NO PERMANENT SHIRT FOR ANY PLAYERS. EVEN SOMETIMES, HE SUBSTITUTE & BENCH SOME PLAYERS LIKE ECHIEJILE, MIKEL, IGHALO, MUSA, AKPEI, OGU.
*** GERNOT ROHR ALWAYS INVITE & USE PLAYERS BASED ON PRESENT FORM (NOT NAMES, EGO, OR SENIORITY AS PASEIRO DOES).
WE HAVE NOT SEEN ENOUGH GOOD NEW PLAYERS UNDER PASEIRO SINCE HE HAS BEEN IN CHARGE EXCEPT BRIGHT SAMUEL OSAYI & ADELEYE. DESPITE A LOT OF GOOD PLAYERS AT HIS DISPOSAL THAT IS FAR BETTER THAN OLD ONES. FOR INSTANCE: OSIGWE, EBUEHI, BRUNI-ONYEBUACHI, ONYEDIKA, ADARABIOYO, ORBAN, AKPOM, DESSERS, MOFFI, BONIFACE, EJARIA ARE FAR BETTER THAN THE LIKE OF: IZOHO, OKOYE, SHEHU, BASSEY, ETEBO, BONNKE, OMERUO, BALOGUN, MUSA, IHEANACHO, ONUACHU, SADIQ, ARIBO, S.KALU.
Paseiro, Nigerians are TIRED of OVER RELIANCE of OLD CARGO, UNFIT, INCONSISTENT PLAYERS. PLEASE bring in fit & consistent players.
Gift Orban, Alhasan Yusuf, Rafael Onyedika and Victor Boniface are the immediate future of the SuperEagles. They should be given a call up in our inconsequential match against São Tomé y Principe. They should also be in the SuperEagles provisional list for the AFCON. Making the final list willl depend on their ability and readiness to take their chances, but they deserve a chance baring injuries or loss of form.
100%.
Kudus to u Chidrah Ejuke.
l personally am still salivating to see u play for 9ja nd grab ur rightful plac i th Suoer Eagles.
We should try to make a very good use of the last Afcon qualifying match to see those excitng players play for 9ja.y
Add Victor Onyemaechi of no Porto fcin our lef sid of our defence and one or to creative/attacking midfielders like Ovie Ejaria nd his likes to help reshape the team’s dynamism nd tactical strenght
It would not be out of place too to consider a player like Marcus Abraham of Porto fc to challencge Chukwueze in our attack bcos that guy looks mores sure-footed nd technical.
Infact, my team for the match:
SABASTIEN OSIGWE, Dele Adeleye, Victor Sochima, OVIE OTEJERI
Osayi-Samuel, TYRONE EBUEHI, VICTOR ONYEMAECHI
ALHASSAN YUSUF,RAPHAEL ONYEDIKA
UGOH OGBU,JORDAN TORUNARIGHA(Hope he is cleared by fifa before the game), Calvin Bassey,Troost Ekong.
CHIDERAH EJUKE, Lookman Ademola, Alex lwobi, OVIE EJARIA, Victor Osimhen, VICTOR BONIFACE, GIFT ORBAN,CHUBA AKPOM, Moses Simon, MARCUS ABRAHAM.
