Super Eagles striker Gift Orban took his goal tally in the Bundesliga to three after scoring in Hoffenheim’s 3-1 win away to Werder Bremen on Sunday.
Orban, who made his sixth league appearance against Werder Bremen, has scored three times in his last four matches.
He scored in the 63rd minute to put Hoffenheim 3-1 ahead before going off on 76 minutes.
The 22-year-old’s Nigerian teammate Kevin Akpoguma was also in action for Hoffenheim, as he came on in the 88th minute for his 21st appearance in the league this season.
It was a return to winning ways for Hoffenheim who went into Sunday’s encounter on the back of two straight defeats.
Also, the win is a boost for Hoffenheim who are in 15th on 21 points and are just one place above the relegation play-off spot.

The POTENTIAL & QUALITY OF PLAY of GIFT ORBAN, C.AKPOM, C.DESSERS are far far better than SADIQ UMAR, AWONIYI, ONUACHU, BONIFACE.
ERIC CHELLE SHOULD WATCH OUT.
Gift is Nigerian third most consistent striker in the top 5 European league after the two victors, the guy is a reliable striker that will be very useful to the eagles in the coming wcup qualifiers.
The guy can score against any team, especially when he is been underrated by opponents,
Imagine playing him against South Africa away match, Zimbabwe and benin home matches I am optimistic the guy will score goals for the eagles,
He have that power and instinct of Ike uche and obafemi,
He may do better than Boniface, because of his mindset,
He is very confident and rugged,
Second to osihmen in that aspect, he is never shy to show his frustration to the coach if he is been left on the bench for too long, that’s a striker who knows his value and believe so much in his capabilities. Pairing with osihmen will be disastrous to any opponent
I agree with you 100% @ Collins id.
Who wouldn’t want the Eagles to have once again, a player or two with similar qualities to Ike Uche of Obafemi Martins? The explosiveness, strength, confidence, skills and character they showed during their playing days are most of the ingredients the present Super Eagles is lacking rather, our previous coaches and sports analysts have mistakingly gone too myopic to the extent of not noticing a quality player when they see one. Please, we should always put less emphasis about names of the player, the club he plays for or what he did in the past and totally eschew tribalism or favoritism, but focus more on current form, character, strengths or uniquiness and comittment of each player before recommending or calling them in the national teams at all times.
Like they say, there is nothing in names, taste is everything. That taste to me is quality and talent.
Gift Orban ticks all the boxes if only one can look carefully. I have said it before, l consider him a far better attacker than Boniface, Awoniyi, Sadiq Umar, Onuachu, Dessrres, and even Tolu Arokocare to be paired with Osimhen upfront.
Yes, you don’t pair players like Tolu or Awo with the same qualities lwith Osimhen, but players with different qualities in other to get the best combination and results.
Finally, l urge Chelle and the entire technical team of the Eagles to invite Gift Orban for the upcoming world cup qualifiers.
He could be the joker because other serious teams like SA and Benin (with Rohr in-charge), have read and mastered most of our other players but not Gift.
Thanks.
