Super Eagles forward, Henry Onyekuru’s hope of making his second competitive debut for Galatasaray in a Turkish Cup encounter with Rizespor on Wednesday has been dashed due to illness, Completesports.com reports.
Onyekuru previously spent time with Galatasaray towards the end of his Everton career and returned to the Turkish side on January 5, 2020 after struggling for minutes with parent club, Monaco this season.
However, Galatasaray took to their ?official website to confirm that his debut had been delayed as he had actually contracted malaria which did not show up during his medical.

That also made him miss out of the club’s friendlies with both Altay and Demirspor last week but there was optimism on the part of the player and Galatasaray that he would get to feature against Rizespor.
An official of Galatasaray, Melis Yagmur Boran told Complete Sports exclusively via Twitter: “No, Henry Onyekuru will not play against Rizespor on Wednesday. He is currently being treated at the hospital for malaria.”

No.. not again.
I really don’t know why injuries and illness always conspires against Henry when he’s at the brink. His position in the pecking order in the national team today is unconnected to his state of health at key moments when he could have had the opportunity to cement his spot.
Any good performance in those 3 friendlies from a rival player in his position could mean another bench role for him at Gala.
Unlucky bro. Get well quick.
