This may be an unpopular opinion but considering the wing-play of Eguaveon which insured many good crosses into the box, I have a feeling that Onuachu would’ve done well at Afcon. He’s not the most technically gifted striker but very good in the air.
If you have wingers who deliver crosses, then Onuachu could be an asset when used as a plan-B.
Even at that, the crosses from Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze and Zaidu Sanusi left a lot to be desired. Movement is still required which Onuachu lacks. Leave that talk a beg.
How does he manage to score a lot of goals in Belgium without movement? Even if he was plying his trade back home (for Enyimba or Kano Pillars), he still requires movement to bang in goals on constant basis.
As a striker, you don’t necessarily require mobility, stamina or physicality to score goals. You only need positioning – being at the right place and at the right time. Onuachu does this for Genk, that’s why he scores double-digits in succession.
Romelu Lukaku has impressive record in England, Italy and Belgium(Belgium all-time leading goalscorer). He achieved these feet without having proper ball control.
Don’t mind him. Talking about no movement. How does he become so successful in banging goals constantly for the past 3 years and became the only Nigerian to ever win the Belgium Golden Booth last year season? If he was not injured, Nigeria would have reached the finals in AFCON. Because of him, the Club have to downsize Dessers and ship him away to another Club in Holland on loan.
Really! “Nigeria will reach the final of the afcon” so what happened in the afcon 2019 ( Onuachu was in the team)? Fans and sentiments!
Onuachu is not playing in a very competitive league, as such we should not get carried away. Even, Onyekuru was banging in 20 plus goals in belgium and now at the greek league he is yet to record a league goal Last time i checked. Onuachu needs to move to a top 5 league and prove himself.
Onuachu is under utilized in the super Eagles and this is due to the former coach’s technical inadequacy, how do you explain a player that scored 35 goals in a season and yet he is being kept at the fringes of the team and we on this platform didn’t see anything wrong with it due to personal preference, I ask if Onuachu is in any of this Oyibo countries playing abroad, will he not be given a place in their national team until he is maximally utilized?
Eguavoen can properly utilize this gift cos in Egu’s days he knew how a player in Onuachu mode was utilized I mean the gangling Rashidi Yekini, to the effect that he was and still the highest goal scorer for the country and club till date.
You are pathetic. How can you blame a coach for a player not showing in national colour. Didn’t you see how horrible he used to be whenever he is playing in national team? Didn’t we tell you national football is different from clubside. If he is that good you think a decent team would not have move for him and take him out of that place since. You think those clubs directors are sentimental like you?
I strongly suggest that the super Eagles handlers should humble themselves and share note with Onuachu’s on how they succeeded in maximising Onuachu’s talent to their benefit, they should also study his tapes no doubt Onuachu’s perspective can be added to heap of tactics in our handlers head. MY THOUGHT THOUGH.
I AM NOT AN AGENT OF ANYONE O, JUAST A PASSIONATE NAIJA FAN.
Onuachu’s coaches I mean
