Samuel Omorodion is on the verge of joining Premier League giants Chelsea from Atletico Madrid.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea have agreed to pay Atletico Madrid £35m for Omorodion with the completion of deal resting on Julián Álvarez move to the Spanish side.
Álvarez’s move to Atletico Madrid is close to completion as the club have agreed a €95m fee with Manchester City for the striker.
Chelsea have also agreed personal terms with Omorodion who is set to sign a seven-year contract.
Omorodion was on loan at Deportivo Alavés last season and started 21 games in the Spanish La Liga, scoring eight goals.
He is currently with the Spanish U-23 team at this summer’s Paris Olympic Games where they will contest in the final against France.
Omorodion would hope to help Spain land a first Olympic football gold medal since Barcelona 1992.
