Super Eagles duo of William Troost-Ekong and Maduka Okoye were unused substitutes for Watford, who held Birmingham to a 1-1 draw in Tuesday’s Championship game.
Prior to Tuesday’s game, Okoye had missed Watford’s first three league games.
For Troost-Ekong, he has made just one appearance so far this season which was as a substitute, in the 1-1 draw at West Brom early this month coming on in the 83rd minute.
Meanwhile Samuel Kalu is still recuperating from a hamstring injury.
And against Birmingham, the Hornets went a goal down after George Hall put the home team 1-0 up on 19 minutes.
And in the 63rd minute Ken Sema equalized for Watford to earn them a share of the spoils.

It’s a pity how our players condescend so low just to play in England. Granted the league is good but for me a team from any league that plays in the champions league or Europe or even conference leagues is far better than any team in England championship or relegation contender in the premier league. Bordeaux, Kalu’s former club plays in the Europe or conference leagues once in a while. So it was absolutely wrong to move to a team like watford that has never played even conference leavue all in the name of playing in England. Same applies to Awoniyi. Okoye shot himself by running away from SE matches of recent. He should have also remained in Holand to develop further. Ekong is finished unless he moves back to Italy where he was highly rated. In England they will always prefer playing their indigenous. I really pity these guys. May God help us.
Common man let’s be honest I can count a gazillion foreigners in England who are getting playing time. The fact is that if u no match up you will be benched. Peseiro needs to start looking for defenders for the national team. Balogun is still without a club and Ekong is benched on a regular…We need central defenders urgently.
In other news, Dennis seems to really have some behavioral problems according to news on out there
Okoye might have made a very big mistake going to England! Featuring for his former team week in week out in Holland would have been better than his present experience?
In another news I read how Man United is interested in CASEMIRO who not only in untested in England unlike our own NDIDI but also approaching the twilight of an illustrious career
Is there something these foreign coaches and scouts know about NDIDI that we don’t know or what??
Am surprised no team has come for him
NDIDI is OVERRATED!
That’s what they SEE…
These FOREIGNERS are AFRAID to INVEST their MONEY on someone who might not DELIVER at a HIGH LEVEL or on a BIG STAGE…
They don’t want to put their MONEY on RISKS…
CASEMIRO has WON everything there is to WIN in CLUB FOOTBALL so forget whether HE is UNTESTED or approaching the TWILIGHT of HIS CAREER…
The EXPERIENCE alone speaks for HIM…
There is one truth we shy away from. Maduka okoye is just a below average goal keeper.Hubris also set in when he avoided playing for SE.The insult Uzoho got for the goal against Ghana over powers whatever was thrown at MO.He apologised and continued being a Nigerian. Okoye feels he is doing Nigeria a favour, which is the reverse. The guy has got a lot to learn and in all honesty not a SE material
Av said several times that troost Ekong is not good enough to be leading our great super eagles defense line. Imagine him failed to seal a starting spot at watford. It’s a shame to us seeing someone we relied upon at our defense line sitting on the bench weekly.
