The 20-year-old made his debut for the three-time African champions in a friendly encounter against the Selecao of Brazil last October.
“Fortuna (Dusseldorf) is my number one spot but I want to play. I have to get experience in first teams,”Okoye declared in a live I nstagram session.
“I’ve discussed with Fortuna: maybe I’ll go to the Dutch league on loan to play so I can get Premier League experience in the Netherlands.”

Excellent idea. Because the truth is that in today’s SE, even if you are Pinnick’s son, “…if you don’t play, you don’t play…”.
It’s good youve now been promoted to the Senior squad at Fortuna, but only regular game time can preserve your relevance in the SE. Good luck in all your endeavours son.
Wise decision boy
This are still his plans. We pray they materialize when next season begins. He has the Confidence. Making your debut against Brazil at such a young age and you couldn’t see any bit of panicking in him like Oga Akpere(Akpeyi) shows he’s a Future Asset. And the Passion and enthusiasm to Keep for Nigeria is evident in him. I think this is evident in our Foreign-born Goalkeepers as we’ve seen in CARL IKEME’s short stint with us.
Meanwhile, let keep praying and supporting DELE ALAMPASU. He’s back to his senses with his latest interview saying he’ll do his possible best to regain the No.1 spot by working hard for his club @Ventspil, Latvia when football returns. Dele ALAMPASU – We all know he’s meant to be the Next Vincent Enyeama when he regains top-form. So much talent in the guy
Dele Alampasu is back and better. I hope our goal keeping scout sits up by giving him a chance to showcase his form.
Back..yes… Better… we’ll have to wait till he starts playing for his club in Lithuania. He still hasn’t played competitive games for almost 3 years.
There’s another former U17 goalkeeper on the radar in Israel, Adeleke. He was in goal during the 2013 U17 AFCON. He’s also in the running for a callup in the near future.
But one thing is sure for Dele in today’s SE…if he plays (regularly in his club), he plays (gets a look-in in the SE).
*…his club in Latvia rather..*

Nice idea.I hope it works out well for you otherwise GR will not consider you.
I am looking at Maduka Okoye’s situation with much interest. Already a Nigeria international, all he needs now is a half-decent league to keep regularly and then he can mount a credible challenge to be Super Eagles’ number one goalkeeper.
Akpeyi is playing is South Africa whilst Uzoho plays in Cyprus. What that is telling me is that if Okoye’s agent can find him a decent club in Austria, Scotland, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania or English Championship League, and he keeps week in week out, then he stands a good chance of staking a claim to the number one shirt for Nigeria (if his talent shines through).
The longer he stays in the German lower leagues the greater the chances of his even losing his current number three position in Nigeria (let alone going higher).
As a Nigeria international, his profile is already high. Plus, he is a decent goalkeeper by all accounts. It should not be difficult for him to find a club in the division 2 of a country like England, Spain or Germany or division 1 in countries like Bulgaria, Czech Republic or Poland – any of which would help his national team career advancement.
How much more can i agree with you on this one.
@Deo,he has already been promoted to first team at Fortuna, before the cancelation of German Bundesliga, he usually makes match day squad, although on the bench, but at least that’s a good indication that he is improving. I strongly believe he can get a decent loan move in decent club in Europe too five. The guy is a potential.
In Europe Top five*** CSN… The Edit asap!
@deo how did you take that from my mouth and made it better? Hahaha. Absolutely agree man
