Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye returned to action as Sparta Rotterdam were forced to a 2-2 draw by Vitesse Arnhem at the Sparta-Stadion Het Kasteel on Saturday night, reports Completesports.com.
Okoye copped an injury in the 1-0 defeat to Ajax last month and missed Sparta Rotterdam’s previous three games in all competitions as a result of the setback.

That was a better interview than all these small bits and pieces you read here and there.
All the best Okoye but for ROHR, NO NIGERIAN coach would ever have called and capped you for the SE COMING from Division 4 in Germany. Best wishes
Okoye the cat. You are doing Nigeria proud with your great performances in Rotterdam. You are destined for greatness. We are solidly behind you my brother. Heaven bless all deserving Super Eagles players

The link above is from soccernet. They rated Okoya’s performance as unimpressive. Unknown to them, I was not one of their gullible readers, because I actually watched the match live.
Their report was so so wrong. Henceforth I will start taking news from their site with a pinch of salt. To be honest, I don’t think the person who analysed that match on soccernet, watched that match. Perhaps, he relied on livescore’s commentary for that analysis
I watched the match live. Infact if not for Okoye, Sparta would have definitely lost the match. Okoye made series of fine saves. The highlight of his fine saves was when an opponent ran into the 18yards with not even a single Sparta defender in sight
And I am appalled at CSN for the wrong report given above, surely they must’ve copy and paste upside down.
First of all, Sparta is the host team and the host forced Vitesse to a 2:2 draw. Vitesse scored in the 16th and 37th minutes to race to a 2:0 lead at half time, then Sparta rallied to pull a goal back in the 70th minute and then equalised at the dearth at 93rd minute to end the match 2:2 draw.
Okoye did fairly well in this match, hope he regain more composure towards AFCON period
Thank God for the speedy recovery. We are proud of you Okoye.
