Maduka Okoye was in action for Udinese who came from 2-0 down to defeat Parma 3-2 away in the Italian Serie A on Monday.
The win saw Udinese jump straight to top spot on 10 points in the league table after four games.
It was Okoye’s fourth appearance in the Italian topflight so far this season.
Del Prato gave Parma the lead lead just two minutes into the game before Ange Bonny made it 2-0 on 43 minutes.
Udinese pulled a goal back in the 49th minute through Lorenzo Lucca then Florian Thauvin made it 2-2.
In the 73rd minute Parma were reduced to 10 men following Mandela Keita’s sending off.
Udinese then capitalised as Thauvin grabbed his second goal to put Udinese 3-2 ahead.
Okoye was named Udinese Player of the Month for February early this year following his impressive display in goal for the Italian club.
He was on the bench for the Super Eagles in their AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda during the international break.
The last time he featured in goal for the Super Eagles was at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon in the round of 16 clash with Tunisia.
An error from him saw the Eagles lost 1-0 to the North Africans which led to criticism from Nigerians and his exile from the team.

If your team is top of the table in serie A and you sit on the bench for Nigeria,i didn’t mean Brazil,Argentina,France nor Germany,England…These are countries with the capacity to bench a serie A table topping first choice net minder..
It seems weird to me!
Okoye should be first choice,I’m sure he has improved a lot and our team will be stronger with him between the sticks..
Really weird @Greenturf.
In fact, I had to go watch highlights of his saves in the past season on YouTube to see how much Nigeria is missing between the sticks at the back.
Some will come at me for this, but I have this feeling he would have saved one or both goals in the Afcon final against CIV. If this guy hadn’t debuted for Nigeria competitively, Netherlands would probably have capped him.
There was even a report pre-Afcon he was Paseiro’s first choice after the friendlies, but the coach had to revert to Nwabali when Okoye pulled at the last minute.
Nwabali seized the chance with both hands, helped by the coach’s ultra defensive formation and Nigerians fell in love with him.
Credit to Nwabali, he’s improved too. However, I doubt the coach of Udinese will opt for him ahead of Okoye, neither will the coach of Chippa United.
Does anything make sense in Nigeria…?!

Why a “Case for Change” Aimed At Replacing S/E Goalkeeping Number 1 Slot Is Weak
Before we can consider replacing Super Eagles’ starting goalkeeper, I think the conditions have to be solidly linked to performance in national team colours.
Recently, there have been calls in certain quarters for the Super Eagles management team to replace Nwabili with Okoye as Super Eagles first choice net-minder.
For me, I think this case is weak, and I will say why.
It is undeniable that Okoye is playing for higher profile club in a higher calibre league compared with Nwabili. But should that be the preeminent yardstick?
To make a compelling “case for change” I would argue that only 3 tests have to be applied: 1) Is the incumbent goalkeeping still delivering the goods in national team colours? 2) Is the incumbent playing regularly in a modest league? 3) Is the incumbent fit physically, mentally and psychologically?
Nwabili, who is yet to drop the ball in national team colours, ticks the 3 boxes in-excelsis.
I worry; I have serious concern about the message it sends that we have to carry out a coup to topple a sitting goalkeeper who is doing a good job in favour of an alternative simply, solely or largely due to league and club status. This idea stinks of being beyond-the-pale.
Please, follow me on this imaginary scenario: we all know that Nigeria has potential dual nationality players waiting to don the green-white-green. Should we illegally overthrow Nwabili for Okoye because the latter plays for Udinese in the Italia Serie A, what then happens if Manchester City signs Arthur Okonkwo, install him as their number one and use him to win the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League whilst Udinese is struggling in relegation waters in Italy despite fantastic saves from Okoye; What will happen? Another goalkeeping palace-coup will be on the cards with online placards of OKONKWO IS OUR MAN; OKOYE YESTERDAY-OKOKONWO TODAY!
My question then is: when will it end? Once you discover a new goalkeeper in an upmarket club, the current Super Eagles number one immediately becomes “surplus to first-choice requirements”. You can see why this approach and philosophy to a “case for change” is not only unfair to the existing number one, it unreliable, unsustainable, reckless, unsupportable and purely sentimental.
Eguavoen is slowly steadying the Super Eagles ship after a brief moment of turmoil following Finidi’s ill-fated stint. Making sentimental changes to the Super Eagles starting 11 can only serve to sow the seeds of destabilisation.
Irrespective of the leagues and clubs other goalkeepers are punching their clocks , until the current number one starts to leak needless goals in Super Eagles clubs with decline in club performances, he should be spared brutal and needless coup de tat.
God bless you with this write up. If he is that fantastic, why is udinese collecting goals, he should be saving all balls instead of them ending in the end. All una excuses is just bad belle. When he chickened out, left his fellow players hanging, did he come to the country’s rescue when we needed him most. No he allowed us stick with calamity Uzoho. Now suddenly his head is clear now after we got a new keeper, ogbeni continue to sit on the cooler at every practice, wait for when Nwabali also wants to take a break from keeping. So excuses are just so funny, now the goals at the finals was Nwabali’s fault, maybe you need to call-out players that played injured in that final which was obvious or your star players who couldn’t come back and win the cup.
The question am begging to ask, does he expect to take such break at his club and come back and retain his position when someone else is performing well. Some una suppose go hang trasnformer
Hahahaha….If your Nwabali too is so good, why is he still stuck in Chippa Utd after being advertised 15 times by Nigeria….LMAOOOoo.
I thought you said he would move to Europe after AFCON….LMAOoo. Europe ko, Skipping rope ni.
You thing GK trainers and Club sporting directors are daft and blind at the same time..? You think they cant recognise a showboating goalkeeper who uses the cameras to hide his failings…..LMAOOo.
Even withing South Africa not 1 official bid was tabled for him.
Kaizer Chiefs opted to sign Rwanda GK for even a higher fee and the match between Rwanda and Nigeria showed us why Kaizer chief made such a wise decision.
Even Akpeyi was able to make a big move domestically after advertising himself at AFCON despite Kaizer Chiefs having SA’s No 1 and No 2 goalkeepers as at the time.
Every GK trainer that has worked with SE goalkeepers has said Okoye is the best of them. Okocha has said so too, Kanu as intimated us in similar fashion. It is this one that keeps for the cameras but cannot keep a cleansheet unless there are 7 defenders in front of him that must sentimentally continue to be No 1.
Like I’ve said before, I cant wait for a competent and professional foreign coach who owes no one any allegiance and is ready to work with sentiments to take over the SE and restore sanity where it is needed.
Nwabali should enjoy his ‘place-holder’ role for as long as it lasts….LMAOOO
Even the best African goalkeeper at the moment keeps in SA, did anyone come for him after AFCON, your Okoye was not even considered. Who is showboating? nwabali, all your comment is just filled with hatred for the guy. Tell your okoye to keep coming late to camp, and sit on the cooler till Nwabali retires
The last time I checked the person holding the title of best goalkeeper in Africa is Yassine Bounou of Morrocco who used to play in Sevilla in Spain but has now gone to earn petrodollars in Saudi just like Edouard Mendy.
He will most likely be succeeded at this year’s CAF Awards by Andre Onana of Manchester United in England.
Stop listening to drunkards like you who told you the best GK in Africa plays in the SA. Maybe the person is from your family….LMAOoo. Maybe they were the ones who also lied to you European clubs will sign Nwabali after keeping behind 7 defenders for a bus parking team at AFCON….LMAOoo.
The moment finidi came in and changed formation ‘enyeama wannabe’ shipped in 6 goals in 4 matches….LMAOooo. When Eguavoen came back and was afriad to fail and switched back to Peserio’s formation with 7 defensive starters, uncle new enyeama suddenly knew how to keep clean sheets again…..LMAOoo
And incase your brain was in coma all through the summer, AS Roma, Inter and Juve all made inquiries about Okoye from Udinese this summer. Udinese had to qucikly tie Maduka down with a new and improved long-term contract to ward off all of them who were circling around him.
Your Nwabali is going the moment Gusau gets us a good foreign who is hungry to succeed……LMAOooo
If Arthur Okonkwo should become Man City’s 1st choice by the end of this season and win the UCL as ManCity’s 1st choice GK in May 2025, whoever is manning our goalpost by June should vacate that place.
You dont just wake up on the good side of your bed and walk up in between the sticks to be ManCity’s No 1 in the EPL and the UCL
If we cannot line up our BEST, I mean our VERY BEST, players because of sentiments, then there is something wrong with our football.
@deo we must away with this a player is untouchable Mentality in Super Eagles, If we are to be really honest, With Nawabali’s Last performances in a Super Eagles shirt before the AFCON, I mean Benin and SA games (especially Benin WC qualifer), Coupled with Okoye’s club form Nwabali he should have been dropped for these Rwanda game and Benin Rematch.
This is the same Untouchable mentality that kept us stuck with Musa waaaay past his sell by date, Look bro Okoye deserved Minutes last AFCON Qualifiers, Whichever way you look at it

Dr Drey,
I hear you and I don’t particularly disagree with you. For me though, I have never really subscribed to the notion that our best players for the Super Eagles are in the best clubs.
In our hypothetical scenario, I don’t believe that the confluence of circumstances that combined to make Arthur Okonkwo a Premier League and Uefa Champions league champion with Manchester City will automatically transfer or translate to the national team.
Okoye, posting man-of-the-match performances for Nigeria doesn’t automatically become second best simply because of the rise of Okonkwo in Manchester City. Will Okonkwo automatically strike the same level of chemistry with Bassey, Ajayi and Ekong that Okoye has nurtured in the last 10 games?
If Nigeria are on course to qualify for the world cup and lift the Afcon with Okoye in goal despite playing for a struggling Udinese, what value (other than sentimental, superficial reasons) will a Manchester City Okonkwo add?
Let’s call a spade a spade, SOME NIGERIA FANS JUST LIKE PLAYERS IN HIGH PROFILE CLUBS PLAY FOR THE SUPER EAGLES EVEN IF THERE ARE BETTER PLAYERS IN AVERAGE LEAGUES.
Who no like better tin? Me too, I like the prestige that comes with having an Italia Serie A goalkeeper in between the sticks for the Super Eagles instead of someone from an average South African league. But I think it is discrimination.
Nwabili is just being discriminated on the grounds of the league he plays rather than the performance he produces, which to me seems unfair.
The minute Nwabili’s form dips for club and country, I will be the first to advocate his immediate exclusion. For now, his performances warrant retention as number one.
Deo, maybe the question you should first ask is what value would Aurthur Okonkwo possess, for Pep Guadiola to name him Man City no 1 both for an EPL and a UCL title challenge.
Whatever value he possesses to hit such heights would be good enough to displace whoever has not gotten to that height for club and country.
I repeat, whoever is manning our goalpost by June should vacate that place for Arthur should that happen.
There is a reason why a 2nd choice GK will keep from day 1 of the Carabao Cup, FA cup, Europa League or UCL (like real madrid last season or so) and then come the final, the 1st choice GK will be called in to handle the job.
Caballero has been made to vacate a cup final for Arrizebalaga
Romero has been made to vacate a cup final for De Gea
Lunin was made to vacate the champions league final for Cortoius who was even returning from a long term injury layoff
So its not in anyway an anomaly. Its normal practise we’ve all seen happen again and again.
For all its money’s worth Okoye did not bench just anybody to become Udinese’s no 1, He benched a veteran 32yr old ex-italian junior international Marco Silvestri, a Gk who had been 1st choice in all clubs he has played in in the Serie A. Recall what they say happen to Gks with age…? But Okoye benched him within half a season, despite not seeing game time for months.
And unlike Nwabali, Maduka is not facing strikers who emerge as league topscorer with 12 – 16 goals at the end of the season. In the last 20 years only twice has the top scorer in the South African leagues scored 20 or more goals. Okoye is keeping goal in a top top league where the topscorers leaderboard averages 27 goals.
Its not an hypothesis, our best players play in the best leagues and in European competitions. Those who arent playing in the best leagues yet are about to be snapped up by clubs in the best leagues. That is why when we cant have as many as 5 of them available, we struggle…….even against Benin republic and Zimbabwe on a neutral ground.
Even statistically, Okoye’s national team numbers are far more impressive and convincing than Nwabali’s, not minding the later’s theatrics and showboating for the cameras which experts and clubs’ sporting directors have refused to buy into.
So who is being sentimental here..?
Every professional manager out there will wholeheartedly subscribe to the school of thought that all things being equal, the best players should start games for the team. So once again, where is the sentiment in what is naturally logical and professional to do…?
The guy will continue to improve yearly, because he’s truly a young keeper playing with his real age.i won’t be surprised seeing the Guy in Inter Milan or Juve next season.
God bless you with this write up. If he is that fantastic, why is udinese collecting goals, he should be saving all balls instead of them ending in the end. All una excuses is just bad belle. For Now Nwabali deserves his place in GOals for Nigeria however Okoye is also supposed to be given an Opportunity to compete against Nwabali i.e. The Rwanda game, it is a game improved Okoye should have been given the nod to start in-between the sticks. Why bring him and let him sit both games out on the bench?. That is my problem with Local coaches they cannot think outside the box and they cause unnecessary unrest in the team and disharmony amongst players. Look at because of Finidi Tella is thinking of Switching back to England, Okoye is unlucky though as he is tied to Nigeria albeit I am sure deep down he is not happy about how Eguavoen handled his situation these last 2 games, His Club form warranted he starts 1 of those two games at least. Nigeria is in a Precarious situation we have 2 goalkeepers possibly on the same level or 1 is even slightly better however how will you know if you don’t check?. Eguavoen needs to brush up on his decision making i.e. Some poor timing of and personel of substitutions and decisions like Okoye’s case.
I thought many of us have learned their lessons from Boniface but they did not.
National team football is different from club football.
Nobody can tell me Boniface is not a good striker but why he hasn’t been scoring for Nigeria?
If you know you know kę. Nwabali is our no1.
Okoye should keep improving himself, and after Nwabali’s turn, it’s going to be Okoye.
We should not use the club side to judge any player. Nothing bad will happen to our no1 Nwabali, his colleagues and we the fans. Lets keep supporting and encourage our world class no1 Nwabali. It shall be well with us all kę. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Why hasnt your world class Nwabali too been able to keep even 1 cleansheet for the SE unless there are 7 defenders in front of him….?
No wonder Kaizer chiefs chose to sign Rwanda’s goalkeeper ahead of him….and the match vs Rwanda in Kigali showed why they made such a decision. Who has time to be lining up 7 defenders in every league game…..LMAOoo
The only choice you have now is to support our no1 Nwabali @dr.drey. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
@Omo9ja we must away with this a player is untouchable Mentality in Super Eagles, If we are to be really honest, With Nawabali’s Last performances in a Super Eagles shirt before the AFCON, I mean Benin and SA games (especially Benin WC qualifer), Coupled with Okoye’s club form Nwabali he should have been dropped for these Rwanda game and Benin Rematch.

Ugo, I am not saying that Nwabili should be untouchable. I just said that he should lose his place as Super Eagles Number 1 only on the account of loss of form for club and country.
@deo, I see your point clearly.
Okoye is undoubtedly a good goalkeeper, arguably better than Nwabali and certainly more experienced due to the fact that he plays in a top league.
But, he should remain as second choice for now because we don’t want to desturb the team chemistry and Nwabali isn’t doing badly at all.
The good news is that Okoye is younger than Nwabali. If he keeps improving, his time will come very soon. I have a feeling that Nwabali will soon fade away. But right now, he is not doing badly at all.
The coach should also consider fielding Okoye in a few matches to keep him well blended with the team.
I believe that very soon, he will return as the first choice.
It’s a good thing that we have two goalkeepers we can trust.
@deo, if I am the coach of SE and blessed with 2 good GKs as it is now, I will simply give each of them playing time on a rotational basis with tactical intelligence. Goalkeeping requires much playing time to gel with your defence line, improve on your command of the goal area, builds your confidence and ultimately ensure we have 2 GKs we can call on anytime.
@deo, when you check out the stats at AFCON ’21 vs AFCON ’23 vis-a-vis Club stats as well, you will in all honesty agree that Okoye no be Nwabali mate at all. At AFCON ’21, Okoye only conceded 1 open play goal against Tunisia (Sudan goal was a penalty) playing with only 4 defenders a against the ultra-defensive set up of AFCON ’23 where Nwabali conceded 3 open play goals
At club level, the difference is clear. Okoye had 68 saves and 6 clean sheets in 21 matches against top performers like Juve, Napoli, Milan, Inter, Bologna, Lazio, Atalanta, Roma, Florentina etc., he only conceded 24 goals in 21 matches for a team that struggled to escape relegation by the skin of their teeth……….that’s a phenomenal feat if you ask me.
Now that same team is topping the league table after 4 matches today with 1 clean sheet, 13 saves, and conceded 4 goals so far. My dear deo, that man doesn’t deserve a bench role in SE against a China United GK
Do you realise that Nwabali hardly keep a clean sheet whenever we don’t play 7 defenders???
And do you know that Nwabali has not played any single competitive match this season before today?
It then baffled me how on Earth Okoye couldn’t get to play at least the match against Rwanda. But in Nigeria, the more you try to understand their ways, the more headache you get……………..competence is always sacrificed for sentiments
Dr Banks,
Your stats of Okoye are irrefutable and your Afcon comparison between the 2 goalkeepers in the last 2 Afcons is highly compelling in Okoye’s favour.
Fact remains though that Nwabili re-connected a large body of the Super Eagles Fanbase with the goalkeeping department of the national team at a time when Uzoho was struggling and this same Okoye abandoned the team and elected to stay away from the national team for sometime.
Look, if a goalkeeper trainer for the Super Eagles picks out Okoye as the better of the two after close quarters examination, that would be acceptable.
I just feel that national team football is a different kettle of fish from club football. That said, Okoye is not a virgin to national team football and he is working very hard to reclaim his spot, which for me is a good thing.
I subscribe to the idea of slowly bedding him (Okoye) back into the team with minutes here and there (like the second half against Rwanda) so as to allow his actual performances in Super Eagles colours make the case for him rather than just thrust him back into full national team action which could even harm Okoye if care is not taken.
@ Deo, please to even for one minute by into their yeye comments. Season is just 4 weeks old and sudden all this hyping is flowing left and right. Well the SA league just started today and our dear Nwabali is in goal, so whats the excuse now. Suddenly Nwabali was doing well when he had 7 defenders, did he demand to have 7 defenders, why didn’t the 7 defenders stand in goal when i got to penalty shoot out. Where was Okoye when the Afcon started, still having his brain examined. I can just smell pure hatred for nwabali simple.
Some of you are just hypocrite. When Uzoho was costing us games, why weren’t the 2nd choice given opportunities to man the post all of a sudden he should have man the post against Rwanda, what a ridiculous statement to make. Since he chose to want his brain to be examined and relaxed, that doesn’t mean he should be handed back the job he ran away from. If una like keep posting stats, season just started, and he should’t be conceding any goals yet.
Nwabali no be okoye mate, yeye dey smell, when nwabali was saving penalties against SA guess your Tv was on fire.
Hahahahaha….maybe you too you were blind and didnt see the SE technical crew giving Nwabali a water bottle with instructions on where SA players play their penalties just before the penalty shootout….LMAOOoo
Once again, in your own words….IF HE IS THAT GOOD, why is he still holed up in Chippa United…LMAOOoo.
Kaizer Cheifs saw even Akpeyi of all GKs good enough to be bought from the same CHippa Utd at a time they had SA’ no 1 and 2 GKs…but now that they dont have any of the national team GKs in their club, the prefered to sign Rwanda’s Gk ahead of your “saviour”….LMAOoo.
And anybody that has doubts as to why Kaizer Chiefs bought Rwanda’s Gk ahead of Nwabali should go and re-watch Rwanda vs Nigeria in Kigali.
Even a madman knows that Rwanda would have lost that match if Nwabali were to be in their goal……LMAOoooo. That one cannot save any team unless they are playing 7 defenders at a time…..LMAOooo
Very funny, and when did it become a crime looking at a water bottle. What matters was preventing the balls going into the net. Back to your ridiculous comments. Was Okoye born in Nigeria? which Nigerian league team did he play for, if he was that good, he should be keeping for the German national team, a reject that wasn’t even considered for 3rd choice goal-keeper. Only to run away like a coward because of a goal conceded. Even when we desperately needed a goal keeper, did he look away to come save the team. Now the team is doing well under another goal keeper who didn’t ask for 7 defenders to stay in his front. Last i checked 7 were not defending against Benin republic
You can keep making baseless excuses, Nwabali is gradually getting the exposure, very soon he would make it out of Chippa, at least he is not warming any bench. Just stop the hatred and let the guy be. You Okoye had his chances on a platter of Gold and wanted to make himself indispensable, would he even try such at any European club and you expect the coach to fold his arm and wait till he has cleared his head. looooooool
Hahahahaha…Of course, it is not a crime to brag about passing an exam when you already bought the answers before the exams commenced and went into the exam hall with it……LMAOoo.
Was it not 4-2-4 your imbecile uncle played vs Benin where he played a RB at LB and a CB at RB…..LMAOOoo???? They deceived the mumu into 1994 style and he fell for it….LMAOOo. Eguavoen got there and ran back sharply to Peserios’s formation…..LMAOooo
Someone was best goalkeeper in the dutch league and had the 2nd best xG save ratio in the Serie A….Okponu is asking if he played in the Nigerian league…..LMAOOo. Is it not Ethiopian, Tanzanian, Sudanese leagues and Chippa United your so-called best NPFL Gks are ending up….LMAOooo. Dutch Eredivisie and Italian Serie A na their papa mate….??? LMAOOoo.
If Rohr hadnt been wise enough to grab Okoye and cap-tie him before Germany took notice of him you think we wouldnt have lost him like we have lost Olise and Atubolu now that they are all playing in the best leagues in the world…??
Your “saviour” is gradually getting exposure in Chippa united in south african league at the age of 29…..LMAOOo.
So you now agree that he inst even exposed….LMAOoo.
Hopefully he will make it out of Chippa back to the Nigerian league after his 3 year contract at Chippa runs out, since no club anywhere, not even south african league tabled an official bid for him despite playing at an AFCON already…LMAOoo.
Or you think it is based on collecting 11 yellow cards in 1 season in the SA league or the howlers he dropped vs Benin or cleansheet behind 7 defenders (whereas Rwandan GK kept clean sheet with 9 saves without his team parking the bus) that clubs bigger than Chippa Utd will buy him….?? LMAOoo
Please pass whatever you are drinking…..LMAOooo
We dont want an old man who is still getting exposure and can only keep a clean sheet with 7 defenders in front of him as our No 1. We want a young 24yr old real age goalkeeper who has been the best in Netherlands and 2nd best in Italy, has been widely exposed in the best leagues and didnt need 7 defenders in front of him to keep 8 clean sheets in his 16 matches for Nigeria.
Once again, your ‘enyeama wannabe’ should enjoy his role as a placeholder as long as we continue to have local sentimental bonus sharing coaches in the SE.
Common sense will most definitely prevail and sanity will be resotred the moment a professional expat coach who owes no one any allegiance or sentiments becomes the SE coach.
No problem we all watching. Was it finidi that asked some European rejects to commit simple errors. We all know he was set up. Suddenly they all just woke up and started playing good again. Abeg spare me all this noise. Lets see what the yeye expatriate will do when he comes in. Abi no be expatriate give Nwabali the Job. Why he no get action for watford? no be every coach be mumu now. Leave our old man for us, so far he is performing, not like the one from Cyprus that you were hailing
If your Nwabaili is as good as the ‘European reject’, why is he still rotting in Chippa United…..a club that is not even reckoned with in south african league….LMAOooo.
Even Akpeyi was snapped up by a big club in southafrican context after showcasing himself for the SE and went to be reach CAF CL final with Kaizer Chiefs….LMAooo
If he easy, make oyinbo man sign nwabali na….LMAOoo. Even SA league club no submit bid for am talk more of Cyprus club…….LMAOOOo. The one for Cyprus faced Manchester United at Old trafford and didnt need 7 defenders in front of him to stop the GOAT from scoring. Na ordinary Mexico your tin-god face wey e chop 4. The most overrated GK to have ever kept for Nigeria…..LMAOooo. He’s deceiving Nigerians with shouting at everybody on the pitch, and showboating for the cameras and the daft ones think because of that Clubs will sign him…..LMAOooooo….laff wan break my jaw.
Is it not the error your ‘saviour’ committed against Benin that has almost dumped us out of a whole World Cup now…?
You sef spare us all the sewage you are vomiting.
Truly No be every coach be Mumu, expatriate gave Nwabali the job when Okoye became unavailable. On his debut in a friendly match vs Guinea he comit blunder. After 1st match at AFCON when your Nwabali was looking like lukozade when a simple pass rolled beside him flat footed into the net, Oyinbo quickly changed to 7 defenders before your ‘fake enyeama’ will cost him his job….LMAOoo.
He eventually cost him his job when he committed a silly basic blunder in the final rushing out to claim a ball that wasnt his ball. We would have successfully defended our 1 goal and won our 4th AFCON if not for that howler.
So we are waiting for another sensible expatriate coach that does not need to share bonus with anybody to come and restore sanity to the SE.
For you information, Okoye underwent a shoulder surgery when he moved to watford and didnt recover well in time to participate in pre-season for watford, that was why he didnt play……but remind us again……where is Watford playing now…..LMAOOo….and where is Okoye playing now…..LMAOOoo
I will snap the current Italian league table and show your children in 20yrs time that our “Well-exposed” Nigerian son was the GK of Udinese when they once topped the Serie A, because you are too daft to understand what that means.
If e easy, make oyinbo sign your Nwabali….LAMooo
LOOOOOOOOOl, simple discussion you result to wanting to cause someone’s family. Thought ballon d’or is for selecting the best player over the past season, so was yassine considered for ballon’d or abi na you no wan open your eyes see the list. Nothing wrong in going to Saudi to retire, we all know that’s retiree league. Dn’t know which game you were watching that Eguavoen went to 7 at the back, better clean your decaying spectacles and go watch the game well. & at the back that the tournament looked weird for the super eagles. Thank God say na another local coach beat them for AFCON say that no be naija style.
Hohahahaha….in your village balon dor nomination is CAF African goalkeeper award abi…..LMAOOo. Shebi when Onana was nominated for balon dor Gk award he won CAF African goalkeeper of the year award abi…..LMAOoo
Once again pass whatever you are drinking to the person next to you. You have had enough.
Maybe it is you that needs to clean your brain to recall that Eguavoen lined up 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders in the 2 games he played. Even Iwobi that is not a DM, he forced the poor boy to play DM and expected him to play it as well as Ngolo Kante would have played it…..LMAOOo
I thought your Eguavoen went on youtube to brag that his style is 424 1994 attacking wingplay nonsense, that your imbecile uncle too stupidly replicated and ‘fake enyeama’ conceeded 6 goals in 4 games….LMAOooo. Why did Eguavoen revert to the same Peseiro formation y’all were complaining about…??? Why did he throw his own philosophy into the bush so we can grind results against teams like Benin and Rwanda after Rohr showed you and your nwabali pepper on a neutral ground…?
Let me help you with a possible answer……..Man was afraid of failure becuase he knew that ‘enyeama wannabe’ will ship in goals if he doesnt put 7 people in front of him to shield him properly.
No goalkeeper in the history of Nigerian football has ever been protected like this ‘fake enyeama’……..LMAOOoo
Leave our fake Enyeama for us, we are satisfied with him, and your yeye oyinbo who couldn’t parry shot away and suddenly started having mental program ran away, suddenly he wants to come and take his job, yeye dey smell. How will you compare the set-up of eguaveon to that of paserio. E ma wa gba me. Did you even watch the match. You want to compare the attacking flair of the team to the boring game we watched at the AFCON where oshimen was also a defender. Ogbeni carry your hatred and go hand tranformer. Let our current Goal-keeper breath. Who knows if your yeye okoye’s mental state can with-stand the pressure that comes with the national team. Hope he will not run away again
Shameless racist. Maduka Okoye has suddenly turned oyinbo in his eyes….LMAOOo.
No wonder he hates the boy.
So much jealousy simply because the boy was born and raised abroad.
Oyinbo that cannot parry ball did not need 7 defenders in front of him to keep 8 cleansheets and conceede only 11 goals in 16 matches for SE. Oyinbo that cannot parry ball is now one of the best keepers in Serie A.
Your fake enyeama that can parry ball has conceded 16 goals in the 9 matches where they didn’t play 7 defenders in front of him…..LMAOOo….almost 2 goals per match.
Its not a suprise Peserio reverted to 343 after only 1 game at AFCON ko to ko oriburuku e ba….LMAOooo
In 15 SE matches, fake enyeama that can parry ball has conceeded 16 goals and kept only 6 cleensheets when 7 defenders are in his front.
No wonder he is rotting in Chippa United….LMAOoo. More like potato chips united……LMAooo
He was shipping goals every game before Peserio introduced 343…..immediately Finidi did away with 343 he shipped in another 6 in 4 matches
Attacking flair my foot.
Why wasnt your Egauvoen brave enough to deploy own philosophy which is 424…..or is it not attacking again…? LMAOooo…..Is it not 1994 attacking style again….why reverting to 7 defensive players…..vs Rwanda and Benin republic….LMAOooo. Even wen we needed to score vs Rwanda to win the game, block head removed 2 DMs and still replaced them with 2 DMs…..LMAOooo
It is only in local coaches village that you bring in 2 DMs and retain 5 defenders when you are looking for a goal against RWANDA…..RWANDA of all countries….LMAOOo….5 defenders and 2 DMs when is search of a goal….LMAOoo. Okponu calls is “attacking flair”. Attacking flair vs Rwanda and Benin republic…..LMAOoooo.
You even have mouth to talk about attacking flair against teams like vs Rwanda and Benin republic who struggle to qualify for ordinarily AFCON, compared to the likes of Cameroon, SA and Cotedivoire that we met at AFCON
If your eguadiola knwos he’s the true son of his father, let him deploy “attacking flair” with 7 defensive players vs South Africa in Johanessburg ehn…..LMAOoooo. Shebi your imbecile uncle tried it in UYO and almost got disgraced by bafana bafana. Eguavoen too should go and do attacking flair in Johannesburg ehn….LMAOoo
Nobody is holding your fake enyeama’s nose, so he should breathe. He should only just start packing his bags now because a professional, serious minded and non-corruptible onyibo coach is coming to send him back to go and be frying chips with his chippa united……LMAOOoo
Abeg carry your narcissist behavior comot for here, what their to be jealous about, na him dey feed me ni. So is he not oyinbo. Oga burn your Tv next time Nwabali is in goal and continue to stay glued to watching udinese. Will remind you when they start falling like pack of cards. We go remind you when the old eagles return.
Look I don’t usually get involved in these cases of dragging for dragging sake, aka argument for the sake of it.
The first thing is as it stands, Nwabali “The Rock” is firmly in possession of the keepers No 1 jersey for Nigeria’s SE’s and no amount of dragging on CSN is going to change that, but I also recognise that every all man has a right to their own opinions, hence I am not trying to stifle things, if people want to drag and have the time to be dragging, then by all means knock yourselves outski!
I have made an exception in this case because very strangely I am in agreement with mr Kenneth (something I NEVER thought would be possible) based on his extremely unpalatable views and performance during the extensive discussions and disagreements around Finidi, during the Finidi saga, so to be agreeing now on this matter, shows and proves the you can never say never, as I myself have theorised many a time on this here obodo CSN.
By extension, I must then say that I am also in agreement with our resident analyst mr deo, which although nowhere near as surprising as me agreeing with mr Kenneth, is still quite notable in this case as I was not expecting in a thousand years that he would now be actively of the understanding that “The Rock” is now well and truly our No1 and that this is the way it should be! If I only rewind back a few months to a time when he was here trying to champion “Calamity Frank” quite combobulatingly over Nwabali (The Rock of Olumo) – so for him now to seem to be looking at all this the “right way up” is very refreshing to see, and shows that there is a lot of hope and scope for rational thought and amicability there in our resident analyst me deo’s locker.
I am not going to go into my own arguments for 2 main reasons,
1) This post is already long enough to be adding to it lol!
And
2) Most of the points I would have made have already been made by both Messrs Kenneth and deo already anyway.
I will rest my case there.
Suffice to say though, that I cannot for love nor money understand where all this clamouring for Okoye to suddenly be foistered on the SE’s with absolutely no demonstrable merit is coming from – It is baffling to say the least! And please I don’t want to hear things like it is because he is playing in Italy and “The Rock” in SA…Please! that’s just laughable, also known in some circles as “schoolboy error” Please refer to the basic goalkeepers manual – search for Goalkeeping 101 on the curriculum.
Until such a time as we can see and it is proved otherwise, then “The Rock” is numero uno and as in every other goalkeeping scenario, we know that Okoye is waiting in the wings to try and wrestle that mantle away from Nwabali – No doubt he will get his opportunity to stake a claim at some point, and then the onus will be on him to show us(the coaching crew to be more precise) that he deserves it (If in fact he does). Chaii!
