Chidi Okezie has secured qualification to this summer’s Olympic games in Paris.
At the Edmonton Athletics Invitational in Canada, Okezie ran a new personal best of 44.97s to win the men’s 400m, thereby punching his ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
He broke the elite 45 seconds for the first time in his career, defeating Wil London III and DaeQwan Butler both from the United States of America.
Meanwhile, Usheoritse Itsekiri was also in action in Edmonton where he competed in the men’s 100m.
Usheoritse Itsekiri ran a time of 10.10s (+1.1). to finish second in a race that was won by Duan Asemota of Canada in 10.07s.
Third place went to Joseph Amoah of Ghana who did a time of 10.14s.

Okezie will easily be Olympics and World champion if he was an American. Boy has talent and strength I don’t see anything stopping him except Nigeria shoddy treatment of Athletes.
spot-on @chima but the generality of Nigerians concentrate our energies on super eagles who are but a shadow of themselves right now. We have a handful of olympic-bound contingents this time around and i hope that they will do the nation proud.
