Nigerian forward David Okereke has appreciated Club Brugge fans for their overwhelming support in Friday night’s 6- 0 home win against Sint Truiden, reports Completesports.com.
Okereke bagged a brace and set up another as Brugge maintained their hundred percent start to their new season campaign.
He now sits at the top of the scorer’s chart with three goals from two games.
“It always gives a nice feeling if the fans appreciate your efforts and that you can end with the three points. I hope to be able to help the team in this way,” Okereke told Club Brugge’s official website.
“However, with the VAR, you have to pay attention as a striker. I follow. I follow the advice. I kick the ball first and then wait for the decision.
“I honestly thought the second goal was offside. Just before it was offside, but apparently no longer at the moment of the pass.
“Fortunately, I already knew the VAR from last season, but it is not fun as a striker. You do not fully celebrate your goal, but you adjust well. I will always try to keep an overview and see where my fellow players are.”
