Daniel Ogunmodede has canvassed for an improved welfare package for coaches in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Remo Stars head coach stated that good
salary and incentives for coaches will improve their quality of play in the NPFL.
“The money is not encouraging. The money is extremely not encouraging. If a team in Rwanda can pay coaches $10,000 to $15,000, and we are here paying less than a million naira for a coach, which is less than $1,000, what do you expect?, Ogunmodede stated in an interview with Brila FM.
“This is a coach that goes to a match venue, everybody wants money from him.”
The 44-year-old has been in charge of Remo Stars since 2022.
The Ikenne club have finished as runners-up in the last two seasons in the NPFL
