Rohr, 66, whose contract was due to run out next month will now remain in charge of the Eagles for the next two years.
And reacting to Rohr’s contract extension, Ogu wrote on his verified Twitter handle: “Woke up to the news from @thenff that Mr Gernot Rohr remains our National team coach . Great news for our country Football . . Our Football will never fall. Moving forward.”
Rohr was first appointed Eagles coach in 2016 and qualified the team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
However, the Eagles drawn alongside Croatia, Argentina and debutant Iceland, failed to progress from the group stage.
Also, he led the Eagles to a third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Eagles currently lead their 2021 AFCON qualifying group after securing six points from two games.
