Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has invited 25 players for next month’s friendlies against Coted’lvoire and Tunisia, reports Completesports.com.
Rohr also placed five players on standby for the games billed to hold in Austria.
Regulars Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, William Ekong and Wilfred Ndidi, as well as new brooms Frank Onyeka , Zaidu Sanusi and Chidera Ejuke made the list.
Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, now in The Netherlands, is heading to Austria as England–based forward Kelechi Iheanacho also returns. Victor Osimhen, now in Italy with Napoli, and another former U17 World Cup winner Samuel Chukwueze are also called.

Rohr’s men will take on the Elephants on 9th October and four days later, will engage the Carthage Eagles.
Both games have been arranged by the Nigeria Football Federation to prepare the Eagles for the next rounds of 2022 AFCON qualifiers, home and away against Sierra Leone in November.

Is uzoho injured?
Uzoho doesnt even make teamlist for his new club
Wow, finally the Long awaited List. Good List as always, but my only complain is I wanted Ebuehi in the main squad. Are you sure NFF did not do something funny to the list. Just thinking.
A very poor midfield!!!!!!
Here comes Rohr again with his defensive pattern.
When there is no creativity in the middle i wonder how we intended to win?
Ndidi _ defensive midfielder
Frank Onyeka _ defnsive midfielder
Tijani _ defensive midfielder
Agu _ defensive midfielder
I’m very disappointed with Genort Rohr in this list.
@Goal … FIFA needs to authorize most of the Switch before they can play for Nigeria like Ovie Ejaria , Michael Olise and others . A player cannot opt to play without FIFA authorization . Iwobi , Ejuke among others can also operate from the Middle . It’s too early to stake a claim even before the kick off that the team is a defensive team .
We should all wait for the match to kick off before making any accusation or claim and I feel the list is a good list .
I believe Fifa switch and perhaps the COVID is a major concern for some club ( team ) . Don’t forget three (3) Manchester City players already tested positive to the COVID-19 .
Every team will probably be careful with release of their players for friendly match .
God bless Nigeria
Olise do not need any Fifa switch because he only played friendly match for France or so..
How about nwakari Kelechi and the guy in Granada, do they need Fifa switch too?
Okay ooh keep defending the indefensible.
Michael Olise has played for France U18, so he needs FIFA clearance.
Liverpool midfielders of Henderson and co,how many creative midfielders are there? But they play so compact and attack from the wings, that’s the way of so many german coaches, let this man handle his team as he wants, before he came,SE has been known to lack intensity and been comparative, now he has done it and still una no dey let progress work
There is no creativity…..pls what is the job of Iwobi and Iheanacho…? Goalkeeping….? Some people just like crying. Lolz
So only no 10 that has the sole job to create chances ? What happened to central midfielder ?
Genort Rohr is known for his cripple midfield simple.
I can’t believe I was supporting him all these while, he fall my hands .
Hahahaha…so why are you weeping…? LMAO. So you know creativity does not only come from number 10, yet you are moaning upandan. In a team that has Ejuke…Kalu…Simon…iheanacho…chukwueze…Musa plus Iwobi (7 people) plus marauding full backs like Aina and Sanusi. In central midfield Etebo is named, together with a capable onyeka who won the POTS of his club playing all but 2 games in the past season as a CM and and Azeez a CM named in the standby list, your intellect and hatred has not told you where the creativity will come from… you are still looking for creativity. Don’t worry….go and check inside your cooking pot…you will find the missing creativity there….LMAO
Vs Lesotho 3 goals from attacks down the wings…Vs Benin both goals from attacks down the wings….Vs Brazil goal from attacks down the wings….Vs Ukraine both goals from attacks down the wings. Be looking for creativity up and down ehn…. LMAO.
Go to blazes with your fake support for Rohr. He doesn’t need it
I think it’s better you don’t support him at all. Lmao!! When have you ever supported him? So you can ever come here and say you’re supporting Rohr?? Wonders shall never end. What happened to we have won this debate?? Lmao!! Please we don’t need your support because we have cracked the top 30 ranked teams in the world for the first time in almost a decade. We like him with his defensive approach. Defense win championship and that’s a smart thinking by a coach who want to achieve something great. Our attacking options are phenomenal so please keep your support to yourself.
Hahahahahaha….dont mind them….ndi 4/5 = 95%……LMAOOOOO..!!!
Rohr is defensive, yet we are playing the sweetest brand of football any SE team has played since the end of the 1994 generation in Mali. Rohr is defensive yet he has 60% win ratio. We are playing defensive football yet we produced the top scorer of AFCON 2019 qualifiers, AFCON 2019 proper and also our Osimhen is already in the race for AFCON 2021 qualifiers topscorer award too. They should go to hell and leave our defensive football for us….we like am like that.
Ay you and Dr Drey are very funny people sha….
So for your mind I hate Rohr?
I’m surprised you didn’t see all my support for him all this while, that’s the reason he was not fired since.
I didn’t hate anyone I’m only saying the truth which is painful at times.
I wish you guys well hoping that one day you will repent.
Hahahaha…Ndi 4/5 = 95% …LMAO. Shove your fake support in the bin. It is your support that is the reason he was not fired…LMAO…coming from the mouth of the same people who were fighting tooth and nail and whipping up all sorts of lies just to get him removed earlier this year. You for kuku say na you be NFF president wey employ am….that would have been a better and less obvious lie.
If it’s about Rohr’s progress and achievements with this SuperEagles I hope and pray I never repent. Lmao!! I’m glad you’re referring to yourself in that aspect. I don’t know what else people like you want from the innocent gaffer. Always looking for a way to discredit him even when it’s glaring to even a blind Bartomeu that he’s doing a fantastic job with the SuperEagles. This is only a friendly and there should be room for some experiment.
I always like your comments please keep it up. However, thanks Mr Pinnick for all you have been doing and still continue to do for the Super Eagles. This is good. However, extend the same gesture to the under-age categories by appointing the coaches as promised on September 7th, 2020 that within two weeks you would have sought out the gray issues with Philip Consultant on the appointment of Age-grade Coaches. Today 22nd of September, 2020 makes it exactly two weeks. Please for the first time do no renege on your promise. Let the coaches be annouced today. Time is not on our side. Remember, U17 Zonal Qualification in Benin Republic for AFCON U17 Nation Cup in Morocco will take place 17 of October, 2020. The time for the appointment is today. We are waiting for you to fulfill what you promised.
Good team list…..
No Ehizibue,No Sarenren Bazee, No Uduokhai, No Torunarigha, No Ovie Ejaria, No Akpoguma. Where are all those flaunting all these names as the next to be invited? Lets take it easy with our over enthusiasm. I am pleased though with the inclusion of Ejuke and Zaidu Sanusi. I believe the rookies called Lawal and Tijani may have just been included cos they are already resident in Austria. I will be happy if the coach can give future thoughts to Osayi Samuel, Ejaria and Tolu Arokodare (If he performs well in his new club FC Cologne). However I dont want anybody to bring that Akpoguma guy near SE for any reason, he has insulted Nigeria several times in the past and even once said he prefers to play jist 90 short minutes in a German shirt than to spend a lifetime in a Nigerian shirt.
As for me,I’ll remove Alampasu for Osigwe
Remove a central defender and call ehizbue who is yet to play a game for Nigeria….he said he wants to test new players, why didn’t he call him then?
And please, drop Ahmed musa for Emmanuel Dennis
Finally, remove cyriel deseres and put Maja or onoachu
Am only happy with the invitation of frank onyeka if not the squad is rubbish….pure rubbish
My broda @ Abdul, this your vex, bojuboju full inside I swear. If Rohr had invited your said players leaving out others, then Sule for still complain. Na wa ooo
HaHa…. i will probably have to change my name now. This Abdul sounds noway like me…. The capability of Onuachu and Maja have been tested, so why not give the highly spirited Dessers his own chance. On dropping Musa, hmmmn…You can’t drop Musa now. He’s one of the few experienced guys that knowns the true traditions and chemistry in the super eagles. Moreover, this guy has proved what he’s capable of doing over and over again.
Not a bad list though I would have loved to see Ehizibue and Tyronne in the main squad. I pray Ejaria’s switch comes pretty soon. That will solve our midfield problems. Onuachu has been blowing hot and cold, scored a brace lately. I dont know where to place him really but I think on the strength of current form he deserves a higher place than Iheanacho.
All of you drumming support for Onuachu, better becareful for what you pray for. There is no player Rohr has given multiple chances to prove himself than Onuachu but he hasn’t really proven himself, not in goal scoring or general team play, he lacks speed, he is not fast, he doesn’t head well despite his aerial advantage, then why are we calling him? I will pick Iheanacho 100 times over him.
What’s the up date with Chidera Eze and Saka’s switch abeg?
Why place my boy Ebuehi on standby now?. What happened to the trumpeted This?
I’m so happy Onyeka made the list, but please where is Ehizibue? It seems rohr went with only one natural Right fullback(Ola Aina)
Why place my boy Ebuehi on standby now?. What happened to the trumpeted Ehiz?
Why is Henry Onyekuru on standby
This list is absolutely blameless. Rohr is rewarding players who is starting league games. I just complained that Alampasu should be in the team, and yes he has been rewarded for playing regularly. I think Ezenwa should have been invited ahead of Maduka Okoye who is not playing regularly. (I think travel expense might have been considered here).
On the defence, why has Ehizibue been dropped. I think he plays constantly in the top flight of German football and I would have opt for him in place of collins. I think the only reason he might have been dropped is because he is not a natural left footer. Please, lets talk to Uduokhai, he is a good defender and I would love to see him here
Midfield: Its nice to see NFF and Rohr looking to reward its age grade talents and I am happy to see Samson Tijani in the team. However, for experience, Azeez should have been included (may be because the spanish season just started he was overlooked). I think Rohr should scout more midfielders here. Why is Noah Bazee at Augsburg not even playing for his club because he has a great chance of making the Nigerian squad if he could play constantly. Also, I will love to see Eze switch his allegiance. Nwakali should have been included here too.
Attackers: We have so much talent here. 3 names that stand out for me here is Musa (currently plays outside of Europe), Iheanacho and Samuel Kalu, both players either havent played enough this season or has been near abysmal for their various clubs. Still dont know how their inclusion is justified. They are both incredible talents but hasn’t delivered enough. Onyekuru should have been included in the list. This guy comes in to play for his club and he is very impactful.
Again, Awoniyi is not given a shot. Does Rohr has a personal dislike for him
Nwaekeme has been playing at high levels for his club and has been most talked about but he is still left out.
I am of the opinion that Ejuke still needs time to show himself and I will prefer the prioritisation of Osayi Samuel who is fully Nigerian and can play for Nigeria.
I think Nigeria not qualifying for the Olympics must have affected us not seeing these players play at a high level.
Overall, I think Rohr shows fairness in his selection
What has Awoniyi achieved in his club career to play for SE
Absolutely nothing, always on d move frm one club side to another,nd he can’t even tie down a place for himself in d clubs he is loaned to.
Noah Bazee is presently nursing an injury. He did not play last Saturday game. You can check Flashscores.com
I would have preferred to have Tyronne & Ehizibue in the Squard than Chidozie Awaziem and Kenneth Omeruo…
It’s sad Kingsley Ehizibue of FC Koln(Germany) is not in the list.Is he injured or what? Or has he changed his mind from playing for Nigeria? Does it have to do with inability to procure a Nigerian passport? NFF,Amaju Melvin Pinnicks,Oga Gernot Rohr, these questions are begging for answers! We are waiting !
am not please with Iheacho in the list why Paul Onachu has been impressive for his club
A little correction
***So for the Midfield, we have Tijani, Onyeka, and Ndidi for DMF, Etebo and Agu for CMF, Iwobi and Nacho for AMF***
This list is not inspiring,Mikel agu again,Where is ehiz?.collins? What is his business in that team?..Rhor is too rigid..
Mikel Agu is being forced on Super Eagles and fans… He is just average. I hear Rohrs affiliate sports management company DW Sports Mgt is the company with Mikel Agu’s marketing rights… that’s why he gets smuggled back to the squad every now and then… Rohr and partners are trying to market him. I would have preferred kelechi Nwakali to Mikel Agu… If you must invite Samson Tijanni why not Kelechi Nwakali who is a better player…
Mikel Agu had a very good season,I think he merits the invitation. Besides Nwakali is just settling his time will come
I am always appalled at the level of bias cum sentiments ridden judgements of some people at times. How do you expect Kelechi Nwakali to stroll into the Super Eagles simply based on what he did at the U-17 tourney of 5 years ago. I guess we should go grab Ganiu Oseni, Chrisantos Macauley and Stanley Okoro and enlist them straight up into the SE then because they had fab outings several years ago at u-17 level. I have personally been praying for K. Nwakali like my own brother to get back to his U-17 level and form, I always look out to watch him play this season, day 1: he came in as a sub and made no meaningful contribution in Huesca’s 1-1 draw with Villarreal, day 2, this immediate past weekend, against Cadez fellow newly promoted team, he wasn’t even listed in the match day squad (reasons I don’t know anyway). My take on K. Nwakali is this; he needs to work harder, smarter, pray harder and play more regularly with unequivocal conviction for all and sundry to see and be convinced only then and then will any sensible unbiased national team selector would look in his direction. I just pray he ties down a permanent spot in that “average” team as the season progresses
Hmmmm…wonderful, so it was DW sports that also smuggled Mikel Agu into Victoria Guimares’ 1st team last season and made him a constant feature in the team. It was DW sports that smuggled him into the team of the week and awarded him MOM award multiple times in the Portuguese top division and Europa league last season too….LMAO.
Rohr did not “market” Agu by “smuggling” him into the AFCON squad, it is in a mere friendly when transfer window would have closed that Rohr will market him….LMAO. Your Kelechi Nwakali who is better than all super eagles midfielders including Mikel is struggling to hold a place even on the bench in Huesca….Small 18 yr old boy Tijani who has never played professional football before has started all matches for his new club in the Austrian Bundesliga which he only joined at the beginning of this season.
Some people’s bias is legendary. Orisirisi for inside CSN…!
….@Drey, you made a good point. One thing with you is that most of your arguments are based on facts and devoid of sentiments. No shaking… we the Kelechi Nwakali’s fans are waiting… we wont be tired. I believe his time will be soon.
Maybe you should borrow a leaf and stop embarrassing yourself with paranoid statements that you cant defend. If you believe Nwakali’s time “will be soon”, which means it is NOT YET his time….why not wait till when that time comes rather than trying to force what is not. We are all praying all our sons playing in Europe succeed, but the world wont come to a halt because because one player who shone 5 years ago at the U17 is yet to fulfil his potentials when others have already emerged. Lets leave this Nwakali boy and allow him to ressurect his career in peace.
… @Drey. Can’t you ever comment without mocking someone or sighting someone? I am not embarrassing myself. The next time you say something disrespectful you will get a baptism from me trust me… Make contributions without feeling your opinions should be goldstandard to everyone here… Iwobi who was called and kelechi Nwakali who wasn’t called… They have both appeared just once for their clubs this season… We all have a right to. Our views here. You ain’t paying for my data…
Hahahahaha…oya start your baptism na. Na because of situations like this God give everybody eqaul number of hands….LMAO
And dont even dare compare Iwobi with Nwakali. Iwobi missed EVERTON’s match due to injury, Nwakali didnt make the matchday squad outright at where….HUESCA….they are two different things…if at all that makes any sense to you. Iwobi is our established no 10, in his last 15 games in the SE he has 2 goals 2 assists and 5 pre-assists…that’s 9 goal contribution in 15 games. Nwakali hasnt even had an official debut yet…..Dont even dare moan about Iwobi getting invited over Nwakali. An iwobi on crutches for the SE is still miles ahead of a fully fit Nwakali. Yea you have rights to your view but this is a public forum…once those views are expressed they no longer are personal. Go to blazes if all you know how to do is wip up baseless sentiments. If you like tell us Nwakali is better than xavi and iniesta, We aint inviting Nwakali to this SE yet until he proves himself…..DEAL WITH THAT. SE is not U17, 2020 is not 2015….!!! If we will invited Nwakali based on 2015, then we might as well also call up Rabiu Ibrahim based on 2007. Nonsense.
Mehn! As long as chidera Ejuke is in this list im happy! Its about time we have wingers who can score goals regularly. Don’t get me wrong I really like chukwueze’s dazzling displays but the brother doesnt score enough goals for someone with his enormous talents.
But now we have Ejuke whom I hope will start on the left so he can cut in on to his stronger right foot and unleash those accurate shots that will turn into goals.
Kalu will have to play on the right, while chukwueze and simon can come in, In the second half.
Great times!, Great times!!
Pleasant Day Forumites,
Did anyone notice that our beloved Kelechi Nwakali was not in Huesca’s match day squad again today… this is the second week running that has happened. Any idea if he is injured or something??? Just being curious here, “i dey really pray for that boy no be small” I believe that’s what he needs right now, our encouragement and prayers not some distraction of inviting him to the Super Eagles.
#My_10Kobo_Opinion
Your opinion is worth more than 10 kobo. We continue to observe Kelechi’s situation. Let’s hope for the best.
Super squad except that i expected to see Ehizibue. What went wrong? CS pls help us unravel the reasons for his non inclusion.
… I don’t think leaving out Onuachu and inviting Dessers only whom the latter seems to be doing better than at Genk is fair. I also believe this is the time to invite Kelechi Nwakali. He appears now ready and deserving to be getting invites in my opinion.
Haven’t we seen enough of onuachu in the super eagles already, so why not try out dessers_ when most of this eligible players from abroad start receiving clearance from Fifa and obtaining there Nigerian passports’ my world we would have to beg Caf & Fifa to avoid Nigeria to field Two separate teams in 9ja squad A & B… Loll
It’s very Flattering to imagine.
#super eagles is the Future

…We have not seen enough of Onuachu. Has he played up to six games for SE? As long as he keeps doing good for his club we will continue to make a case for him. He is a good and skillful striker…
Kelechi kor Nwakali in, a player that can’t make a matchday squad of huesca should be invited to SE? Wetin u dey smoke sef
… @coolgang. If going by making match day squad is the yardstick, how many match day squad has Iwobi who we don’t know if he is a winger of midfielder anymore made at Everton since season inception?
If you’re comparing Iwobi with Nwakali based on this current season then I’m sorry. Iwobi we already know what he can do and already established. Nwakali still has a long way to go at Huesca of all teams. That Iwobi can play on the wings and in midfield is good for the SuperEagles. Nwakali hasn’t shown enough to be invited yet. His time will come but with more hard work otherwise if he can’t command a regular shirt at ordinary Huesca then I’m afraid He can’t make it into the SuperEagles. At least we’ve seen what Iwobi can do. He has already scored 7 goals and provided about the same number of assists for the SuperEagles. I don’t think he needs to prove anything to anyone at this stage of his career.
Iwobi needs to sit-up and start having decent starts at club level… We have trusted him for and pitched our tent with him but he needs to begin to start being decisive for Everton otherwise sooner he won’t be starting for SE… We no want look
Uche face again o. Talents brekete now…
My sources told me that Ehizibue has changed his mind, others may do same too just like victor moses.that’s one of the disadvantages of having foreign born players that are not committed the list for me is not inspiring ,relegated players and division 2 players .
who are your sources. I dont think thats true
Bros, Just two division 2 players who are new clubs bound and you make it sound like all 25 players are with relegated teams. Be objective please
Nice list, those who are complaining should understand that this is just a friendly match. We need to try new players.
You are not factually right. Ebuehi and Ehis are under the same management, so he can’t change his mind. Ditto Saka, that is under same management as Iwobi, Aina so he must play for Nigeria.
With the avalanche of foreign born eagles coming, only Osimhen, Ndidi & Perhaps Chukwueze will be local born eagles that might be starting in no distant time. Rohr wants to be using Zaidu and Ehis as wing backs, same as Aina and Ebuehi. Then, the 3 German-born musketeers anchoring at the back.
My ever reliable source informed me Rohr wants to have all German backline at anytime and that Rohr believes that he can win the CUP in Qatar 2022
somebody need to bookmark this. It’s legit.
Let’s all pipe down our emotions on the released list. Every player can’t get to be invited at once.
Moreover, travel constraints and other factors may have come to play in dropping some players.
Some other players like Uduokhai, Akpoguma, Torunarigha, Ejaria etc need FIFA’s approval of switch of nationality to Niegria.I understand the process for some is already underway.
Moreover, can we just forget Ebere Eze and move on from his antics? It is clear his loyalty lies with the Three Lions of England. He is merely using Nigeria as a bargaining chip and a bulwark to get an England invite. If it falls through at the end, he would then switch to his ‘Plan B’—Nigeria.
As for the midfield, someone like Joe Aribo is injured, so he could not be invited to beef up the midfield. Of the other midfield senior players, Ramon Azeez has been placed on stand-by, others are good to go. Nwakali will still have his time;he is just getting to settling in his club.
Someone suggested inviting Ezenwa over Okoye for the reason that Okoye has not been active. Are you kidding me? Okoye kept goal severally for Sparta Rotherdam in their pre-season matches. Even Ezenwa can’t remember the last time he saw a ball, let alone kick it. Ezenwa might have even forgotten the position he plays on the pitch. No thanks to a NPFL that has gone oblivion.
Let’s give this invited crop the benefit of the doubt and get behind them to whoop some Ivorian and Tunisian asses.
there are too much central back in the team. is it becos rohr was a defender in is playing days? i am so happy with the invitation of tijani and onyeka( i didnt expect it so soon) i respect the coach for that. i also commend him for alampasu zaidu and ejuke inclusion. though i expected the likes of nwakali ehizibue and ebuehi in the list, however they will still get their chances its just a matter of time. ejiara is the guy i cant wait to see play for us. all thesame its a nice list i believe we will win the both friendlies. miss aribo. God bless Nigerians.
Final test and discard, the three German musketeers are coming to take over our backline. Ages 22,22,25
You are not factually right. Ebuehi and Ehis are under the same management, so he can’t change his mind. Ditto Saka, that is under same management as Iwobi, Aina so he must play for Nigeria.

The list is a balance list IMO. Although I don’t have any concrete reason why Ehiezube is not included in the team list, ejaria hasn’t completed his switched yet just like Akpogouma,Udokahi and the other guy in German bundesliga. LA Liga just started so we have not been able to see more of Kelechi Nwakali and Ramon Azeez, remember the former hasn’t made his debute for SE so he needs time to proof himself at the highest level just like Chukwueze did 2 seasons ago while the former is still a fringe player in SE color. We have seen enough of onuachu that’s why he wasn’t invited for now to give us the opportunity to see what Desser can do.
It’s a balance list.
The only player I expected so much to have appeared in this list is Kingsley Ehizibue considering the closeness of Germany to Austria.i think something is fishy here about his unexpected exclusion. I am beginning to think that perhaps Netherlands coach might had given him an assurance for a spot in their team.He was approached the same time while he was in the eredivisie around 2016 with tyronne ebuehi but while tyronne decided to switch an allegiance, Ehizibue didn’t fancy it until early this year (that says a lot ). I hope it is not what I am thinking sha.
True…I don’t think Netherland has an established right back yet…I just hope it’s not the case
With the number of decent players ripe and available for coach to pick from, one thing that will now be a firm feature when Super Eagles lists are released is the dropping of very good players.
Imagine those on standby and then many others who could have made the list on a good day. It is testament to the quality and quantity open to us at this time.
After all, you can only pick 23 players out of the almost 100s becoming available on a daily basis.
The list above is very good and, before the Covid-19 induced halt to international football, Gernot Rohr had started moulding his ward into a cohesive unit.
This is the most important element. No matter how good the players are, the whole still has to be greater than the sum of the individual parts. And Rohr appears to be crafting a well oiled outfit as evidenced in the games against Ukraine and Brazil.
My only worry now is that the multiple options open to him across the pitch will not make him think of changing his tactics only to accommodate players.
But, these are indeed fun times to be a Super Eagles supporter when you think of the clubs and leagues which our players are situated.
Good list largely, but for that creative spark element we are still going to majorly depend on Iwobi. He could get competition in this regards by the time the injured Aribo comes back plus when nationality switch and passport issuance goes through for some of the other folks who could also play in this department. It is important to note that since Okocha left the SE, no one (and I mean no disrespect to Mikel Obi) has been able to fill that void.
I read and saw on YT there is a certain 1.75m guy who plays for Enyimba who’s also got the attributes to flourish in this position aside his height, I think that guy is good in the middle of the park
@femi. i think iwobi have been able to florish in the number 10 position. he has done it well in that last nations cup. even okocha didnt have it that sweet in the 1994 afcon. iwobi is the perfect ten(only needs improvement in long distance passes, vision and shooting) i think with time rohr will settle for Ndidi ejiara and iwobi in the midfield and aribo will move to left wing attack osihmen and chukueze in the middle and right of the attack. i think its waiste of resources for a player like aribo bodering him self in the midfield that guy will be more dangerouse as a second or third man to the oponent goal post.
Are we going to world cup? Please, let the coach do his job even though Nigerian fans are managers.
Good list, great job Oga Rohr. I think the gaffer is learning from his past mistakes. Looking at the three goalies, as it is, we don’t have number one goalkeeper yet. Even if Uzoho was included, he have to compete with the rest of the goalies.
Jamilu Collins and Zaidu Sanusi, good job Mr. Rohr. It’s shows that you are reading our comments on this forum. Super Eagles really needed two fantastic players in each position.
Keeping Ebuehi on standby is understandable because using him against Africa teams while the lanky player just recovered from injury and it is a bad idea to have him against the African teams.
As long as Oga Rohr is doing well, I will support him. I’m satisfied so far but if he changes his mind tomorrow, hmm, I will go all out and tell him the truth again.
I will like to congratulate Oga Rohr and his fans for a well done job so far. I’m so impressed.
Don’t be carried away o coach Rohr followers, we still have a lot to do in terms of tactics, substitutions and self confidence of Mr. Rohr.
But so far, the gaffer is doing his very best. Kudos to we patriotic Nigerians, Oga Rohr and his followers. One love. Ire o.God bless Nigeria!!!
Good list.
I must admit that GR is fair to some players who are playing regularly. However, if current form is a yardstick, Sadiq and Maja (not on standby) deserve to be included in the list.
Worldwide, every coach will go for players that fit the kind of football, they wanna play. A Guadiola will pick a xavi, iniesta, Kevin debruyne ahead of fantastic Yaya Toure, not because those players are better than Yaya but because those players will play his style of football better. Westerhof in his days will not even consider JJ okocha or Friday Ekpo, but will rather go with Ezeugo, Oliha or even Samson siasia, big strong players. Brenden Rodger will go for tenaciously speedy players over calculative players. So picking some players over certain other players by managers doesn’t necessarily mean players picked are better in terms of football than others not picked, but just the ones the manager trust can play their style. So Onuachu, sure doing really well at club level but the gaffer may have just seen enough of him especially during the last Afcon. He is only gonna come back for him if haven tried others, he realises Onuachu may have afterall offered more. So we should please just let the gaffer do his job, only a certain number of players can be invited as against the over 100 players available for the SE.
no aribo that decide game injure and rohr refuse to bring ejaria olise.. and even place ebuhei standby.. where is ehizibue? we are goind down on fifa ranking again. so painful.
With the Coach past record, I don’t expect any trophy from him. Though, the guy tried and has improved the SE but the guy lack idea to win cups. If SE ever win any cup during his tenure, it would be due to individual efforts from the players. It won’t be as a result of his ideas.
So now that we have not won cup it is not the players individual efforts that has not made us win a cup, it is the coach…but when we win it will become the players individual efforts…..LMAO.
We we loose, it is the coach…when we win it is the players…..clap for yourself. In one moment you claimed he has improved the SE, I guess it is the players’ ideas he used to improve the SE….or maybe your own ideas…LMAO. Ndi 4/5 = 95%…dem don dey show face one by one….Lolz. When they run out of lies to malign the coach with, the next thing they will tell you is that it is the player’s individual efforts that is generating good results. Pls tell Pep and Klopp to go and coach Wesbrom first….lets see if they will near EPL top 10.
This guy just said the obvious and you are here castigating him.
The gaffer needs to come to the reality that we are in this project together and so he needs our humble suggestions to succeed!
Super Eagles belongs to all of us, we want the coach to succeed but he needs some adjustments here and there.
Hehehehehe….you are not with us in this project together…you have never been……..stay your lane. Because when the team wins it is the players, but when they loose, it is the coach…LMAO. So stay away.
Success has many parents indeed. Now that we are succeeding with a “dumd, rigid, conservative and defensive coach”, currently ranked 29th and still moving up….all of a sudden “we are in this project together…..” with the same coach they cooked up all sorts of lies to get rid of in April this year…..LMAO.
We dont need your constant weeping and gnashing of teeth…looking for creativity when there are 10 creative players named already in the list…..LMAO. We know those who really want the coach to succeed. If Rohr had been listening to your lies and false allegations all these years we wouldnt be close to where we are today.
Fake supporters pls keep off….!
Some people will make a good career becoming town criers. They cry all the time. If Rohr invites the usual 23 players they cry that rohr is too rigid…to conservative, he does not create competition bla bla bla…..he calls up 6 new players at a go, they still cry. When he calls up players from the top 5 leagues alone…they cry…now he calls up players from denmark, austria etc….they still cry.
Ndi town criers…una ndo o…! LMAO
I’m please with the list. I must admit that almost all the players here deserved the invitation. I only wanted to see that Swiss based Nigerian keeper, Noah Bazee and ehizibue. I do hope the players take their chances.
Imagine having ejuke and chukwueze on the wings. That’s mental. If we win Tunisia, we will likely overtake them in ranking. If Senegal drop points, that would do us a lot of good.
No mind them. Wen the team wins, na individual brilliance but wen the team loses na the coach. Last time i checked, individual brilliance took us to 70th and counting until mr “defensive no good coach” came an took us to 29th and counting within a very short period of time. This is the height of hypocrisy I’ve ever seen in my life. Now, a list has been released by the gaffer and some people, instead making constructive suggestions as to how get to the heights we desire with the invited guys, they are busy crying why everybody including their family members and grandfathers
weren’t included, how absurd. A thorough review and assessment of the list would show u that each and every player invited deserves a place. They said all sorts of things when ezenwa and Uzoho were usually invited. They almost cried the heavens down and questioned why alampasu wasn’t invited. Now that Uzoho and ezenwa are missing on the list and alampasu and okoye invited, they have shifted their focus to the agency managing the players. As that one gets busted, them go shift to the insurance companies managing the players. God really created a creature in humans, esp Nigerians. If crying will ease una tension and make u feel good about yourselves, pls continue non stop. And for tbose saying g we are in this together, just dy your day make we dy our day.
@Godsate, I wonder what you would have said about Westerhoff in 1993. Do you know it took 5 years for Westerhoff to win his first trophy? He had been to 2 AFCONS – in 1990 with a makeshift squad got to the final in the 8 team tournament, then in 1992 with a far better & experienced squad finished 3rd. So by your own estimation we shouldn’t have expected him to win the 1994 AFCON. Do you know it took Jurgen Klopp 3 seasons to win his first trophy at Liverpool? Rohr has only been to 2 tournaments, 1 being the World Cup. So your assertion “from past records I don’t expect a trophy from him” makes absolutely no sense. We have had over 30 coaches of the Super Eagles and only Otto Gloria, Westerhoff & Keshi have won trophies so what are you saying? For me, I think the next AFCON is very, very possible at the trajectory the team is currently going.
@Godsate bros you are right period.
And you are just emotional!
I am a Biafran To hell with this Super Eagles bull shit
Guy calm down there are 10 Biafrans in that list,4 core northerners, about 6 Yorubas. My question is where is the tribal sentiments is the list?
@ugwunze, Who is more Biafran than u are, go hang yourself if u don’t like the list. After all, it won’t make any difference
Oakfield Non entity Thunder go Nack you where u dey. onye iberibe
Lol…..red alert!!!!!! We got a psycho on thee lose.. Lol
Shebi na the one wey fire u yesterday dy make ur brain reason anti clockwise.. Lol
I have never attacked any one here b4 but with all due respect that was a rubbish comment @ godsate
This your comment is so deficient of sense, you seems so dull
I have many respectful, sensible and well mannered Igbo friends who agitate for Biafra and they are not senseless and tribalistic like you.. My brother your head knack ground when you were young, but your parents no tell you. Your madness clause is about to reactivate this morning. Oga carry your frustrated life commit here, thunder fire you idiot…
@Ugo seems you forgotten to take your early morning dose… Your brain need to be reset back to factory fitting
One thing I hate the most is ethnic bigotry. Musa was invited due to his experience and he’s still playing actively. Saka and eze haven’t fully committed to super eagles and it takes a process before the switch is complete.
If you don’t have anything meaningful to say, just stay mute
Thanks Mr Pinnick for all you have been doing and still continue to do for the Super Eagles. Let the coaches be announced today. Time is not on our side. Remember, U17 Zonal Qualification in Benin Republic for AFCON U17 Nation Cup in Morocco will take place 17 of October, 2020. The time for the appointment is today. We are waiting for you to fulfill what you promised.
@people responding to Ugo I think u guys should have leave him it seems he has taken over from omo9ja by posting senseless comments every time. One was even out of sentiment questioning Iwobi invitation to Nwakali. That is d kind of human being they re always looking for excuses. If the coach should release another list tomorrow they will still complain. They don’t know they re not making sense at all.common sense is truly not common.

#ENOUGHISENOUGHOFEXTENDINGINVITETOMUSA HE DOES NOT DESERVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Are u well at all?????
Good List. From my point I would have prefer ROHR to drop either ahmed musa or iwobi and bring in Dennis Emmanuel. This are friendly matches and we all know that ahmed musa and iwobi will definitely make any list for proper competition.
Secondly, i think kelechi nwakali needs to be encourage.I believe if he is given some time in the national team, he will excel definitely. That guy can pull weight. Well am not the coach and with these team, i believe Nigeria will win their two friendly matches.
it’s unfortunate that people discuss politics and ethnicity when soccer is the issue in nigeria we tend to forget that nigeria as a country is above all this ,there many other platforms that can be used to discuss all these and your your vice will be heard let us learn to discuss soccer when it is soccer and politics when it is politics, let us avoid corrupting the twrrain please
For me this is an opportunity to test fresh legs and there are so many of them that should be given a chance in future engagements all we want is for the coach and the board to build a strong team that will be capable of competing with other national teams across the globe
Exactly, that’s the essence of friendly games. But some people would want their entire kindred dead and alive to be invited.
good list in and out! oga rohr well-done
All those who are clamoring for the inclusion of Ehizibue and Sarenren Baz should go and read the reason for their been dropped from Owmgoal.com of today 22nd September 2020 and Flashscores.com of Saturday respectively. With the reasons adduced their exclusion is justified. Hopefully, they will definitely make the list in November AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone.
Bros, just tell us now
@Ugo Iwunze, The number of your dislike says it all.
Let us digress a little and talk about the Golden Eaglets and the Flying Eagles.Where are the coaches of the age group teams as promised by the NFF president Mr. Pinnick? I hope we are not living in the world of deceits and failed promises. If by tomorrow the names are not released, I will -NEVER trust in the words of Mr. Pinnick again.. Nigeria should term his promise(s) as lies. Mr. Pinnick promised two weeks and it ends today. It means he has not kept to your words. Period.
If u really value ur life and really want to live long, never u trust the words of people especially those who work in the glass house. They are full of evil, deceit and lies.
Reports are that Ndidi has pulled out of the friendly with a groin injury
Alhassan Yusuf and Michael olise should have been in the list for the friendly match, rohr over to you
@Ugo iwunze. yes. but dont include niger delta into that ur arrogant ojukwu and arrogant kanu biafraud oo. bcux niger delta republic will also stand.
@Victor if you fall close to the Gulf of Biafra you are Biafran. Lets not go there had it not been for you and your Calabar and Ikwere cohorts betrayal. Biafra will be recognised by now. But this is a topic for another platform. As for me if Rohr Like let him make a squad list full of Below average league players That one concerns him. I don talk my own finish.
@victor, Biafra will survive without your Niger delta. The point is you don’t even know who you are. Who created Niger delta? Was there anything like Niger delta before the British came? Even when the British came, was there anything like Niger delta until this scam called nigeria was left in the hands of evil people? These are things u need to find out. Do you know why history was scarapped from the educational curiculla? You need to study history to know who you really are and where u come from. Surf the net to find out whom you truly are and the history sorrounding the area you call niger delta before u come here and start showcasing ur ignorance. Niger delta my ass.
Gentlemen , this is supposed to be a sport platform for all sport loving Nigerian irrespective of ethnicity, religion ,creed or political affiliation .Let us keep all that aside and concentrate on sports please. It is the only thing that gives us joy at this trying time please .
We are all Nigerians and loved the super eagles dearly.it is the only team I am genuinely emotionally attached to when they are playing.
INTERNATIONAL SWITCH THROUGH FIFA TAKES TIME, SOMETIMES OVER A YEAR CAN GO BY BEFORE A PLAYER CAN SUCCESSFULLY SWITCH FROM ONE COUNTRY TO ANOTHER.
THE COACH CANNOT INVITE EVERYONE TO THE TEAM ALL AT ONCE. IF A PLAYER IS DOING WELL FOR HIS CLUB AND THE COACH ALREADY HAS A NUMBER OF GOOD PLAYERS PLAYING IN HIS POSITION IN THE NATIONAL TEAM, HE WONT BE INVITED!
DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW HOW MUCH IT COST TO ORGANIZE A FRIENDLY GAME, OR HOW MUCH THE NFF HAS AS ITS BUDGET FOR THE FRIENDLY GAMES. THE COACH MAY HAVE BEEN GIVEN A BUDGET TO WORK WITH WHICH HAS MADE HIM CUT COST AND NOT INVITE SOME PLAYERS INSTEAD PREFERRING TO CALL THOSE WHO ARE CLOSE BY TO MAKE UP THE TEAM.
ALSO, WE DONT KNOW THE MINDS OF SOME OF THESE ELIGIBLE PLAYERS WHO HAVEN’T COME OUT TO DECLARE THEIR INTENTIONS TO PLAY FOR NIGERIA, SOME ARE WAITING FOR THE COACHES OF THE NATIONAL TEAM OF THEIR COUNTRY OF BIRTH TO CALL THEM UP BEFORE DECIDING TO EVEN CONSIDER PLAYING FOR NIGERIA. SO LETS NOT BLAME ROHR OR ATTACK HIM FOR NOT GETTING SUCH PLAYERS. HE HAS DONE WELL GETTING US ARIBO AND OTHERS.
THIS TEAM IS GOOD AND WHETHER IT NEEDS MORE OFFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS OR ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS IT WILL SHOW DURING THE FRIENDLY GAMES.
GOOD DAY.
@Oakfield Dalu bros Amaghi m na ibu onye igbo, site ugbua agam anabata gi. even though we don’t see eye to eye lolz. Leave that @Victor Niger Delta Anuofia who doesn’t know his people.
We can disagree on some issues but stand firm on the biafran course which is undisputable. Let’s try and keep the flame burning but avoid bringing it up here as this place is solely for sports. We love our super eagles as it is one of the major things that still holds and bonds the different nations that make up this geographical get together are called nigeria. We shall overcome. @ugwunze, one love bro.
Players like Alhassan Yusuf and Michael olise should be invited to the super eagles for the October friendly match
Instead of Pushing for Saka and Eze he is here inviting some non entities from Danish league and Finish Leagues, Who will just fade next season. Abegi
Go and drink sniper nah. Haba, stop disturbing urself…
Ideally, football and politics should not mix. Let’s focus on the matches ahead and enjoy our boys mauling their opponents. Enough of political bickerings.
In 2007-2009; how many creative midfielders were in MAN UTD? Yet they won 3 striaght EPL. They were using wings to torment their opponents.
Look at liverpool currently with the likes of MILNER, HENDERSON, FABINHO, WIJNALDUM, KEITA, THIAGO.
Haters of oga ROHR pls how many creative midfielders can u see?
KLOPP uses fullbacks & wingers to creates scoring chances.
NOT ALL COACHES DEPEND ON MIDFIELDERS FOR CREATIVITY ‘O YE MYOPIC BLIND HATERS’
HAZARD, SALAH, CR7, MANE, MAREHZ, STERLING.
Are these ones MIDFIEDERS?
DON’T THEY CREAT SCORING CHANCES??
Creativity in soccer must not necessarily come from midfield.
When will u pple grow up & understand soccer proper?
So many comments here shows that ROHR’s haters ar still kids in soccer.
HATERs pls wich of these players below (CHUKUEZE, KALU, SIMON, IWOBI, NACHO, MUSA, EJUKE didn’t creat at least 3 goal scoring chances for their club & country put together last season?
Repent from this hatred so u can see the good side of OGA ROHR.
My ever reliably source close to Rohr has confirmed that SAKA will play for Nigeria; However, Rohr is of the opinion that he has got the better midfielder in EJARIA and not so keen on EZE( as he doesn’t defend when not in possession), but NFF and Pinnick in particular are keen on EZE.
Modern German coached team does not require the traditional number 10 role again, as they prefer to use the wings and shut-out the opposition in the midfield – check Bayern, Dortmund, Liverpool or even the German National Team. Rohr is trying to replicate same with Eagles. So he doesn’t need EZE but EJARIA
You’re very right with that observation about Eze. He tends to take his feet off the pedal when not in possession. Doesn’t help the defence when in trouble. Sometimes, you feel he’s not a team player. But he no doubt is gifted with the ball on his feet going forward.
I’m keener on getting SAKA. It’ll be great news if he switches to Nigeria. EZE too would be a great addition but should only be subbed on when the situation on the field demands it. Not when the team is trying to defend a lead, but desperately looking for a goal and trying to unlock a stubborn defence.
Pinnick has disgraced himself enough with this EZE boy. Man should give himself some respect. That’s how Tammy Abraham used him to shine and wipe the floor. Lol Now, EZE too is always feeling too big. If we can’t him, ni wahala. But SAKA and EJARIA in the squad will be highly welcome news!
It takes an individual who understands modern football tactics to accept and agree with your assertion on Rohr been more keen on ejaria than eze.
Eze is a typical number 10 with no work rate as well as a liability when his team is under pressure defending. No doubt he is gifted when in possession of the ball but modern coaches demands more than that from the AMs currently.
I have seen eze and Ejaria play several time and to be honest ejaria seem more complete to me than eze when it comes to demands in modern football. Ejaria even with his lanky stature is robust and versatile ie can be fielded as AM, CM or from the flanks unlike eze who flourishes only in his natural role which is the AM role
Getting eze will be a will be a plus to the current super eagles set up but I don’t think Rohr and the nff should be desperate about it instead that energy should be channeled in luring saka and reading fc wonder kid Michael olise.
abeg @Oakfield it was the evil of ojukwu made him to loss the war.. dont turn history up side down.. you all know how ironsi and ojukwu fought adaka boro for 12days and killed 150 ijaw men for declaring niger delta republic in 1966.. boro later revenge and destroy biafra 1967.. so it was 50 : 50 between ojukwu and boro.. so dont say betray again..
I wont come here to speak whether one player should be invited or not. My concern is how we use the players. Rohr has proved that he doesn’t use tribalism, nepotism or favouritism in picking players on like our local coaches. most if These people collect bribe before inviting player to super eagle . u will under from our last under age tournaments non of them perform well except eagle that reach semi final of AFCON
