Umar…. well-deserved, anytime anyday, EVEN IF HE DOESN’T KICK A BALL IN CAMEROON….. it’s the start of his growing curve with that team for greater things
My question now is, why leave out reliables like Akpoguma or Ebuehi for a relatively-unknown Olisa Ndah????
Hmmm…..hope Eguavoen KNOWS what he’s doing ooooooooooo hmmm!!!!!!!?
I tell you with this out list, Egypt is being worked up already. Good luck Nigeria.
A statement of fact Oga.
Hmmmmmmmm……let me believe you guys sha
Can someone explain to me why Paul Onuachu is not listed in this team and Ebuehi is highly tactical. Why the exclusion. Though all players can’t be listed but we should have gone for the devil we know. Am okay for the inclusion of Sadiq, nwakali, Taiwo. We need these fresh guys to freshen the team
You are very correct. Now is time to prepare for stadium.
Akpoguma or Ebuehi, you never know whether this are players talking back to the coach. if am the same shoe, also i will ask coach what is my use in the the team if am going to seat on the bench when NIgeria team or defence is calamity at moment.
Hmm na wah
Akpoguma not suited for African football. Believe me Ndah is a good footballer
Ok ooooo, if so, then Eguavoen shouldn’t be benching him (Ndah) at all in Cameroun
@Richie… assuming Rohr was still in charge and Akpoguma made it… Would Rohr have played Akpoguma? Rohr can’t even dare move Ekong or Balogun for Akpoguma and in right back that he plays at Hoffemheim, Awaziem, Aina Can also hold it down there… We have seen Akpoguma struggle in Africa games but we know he is a good player… Let him continue to do well in club, who says he can’t force his way into the squad for March playoffs and if we make it the Mundial proper in Qatar? People like Eguaveon see players different and may have concluded Olisah suits their choices better…
This is what we keep saying yet no African team has ever won the world cup, yet European players are leading in nominees for fifa player awards. Let’s stop with that “He’s not suited for African football”.
@James Idoko You have a point there, anyways we wait and see
Akpoguma might have refused to play due to rohr’s sack or maybe due to the fact that rohr refused to play at all.we don’t know how he plays, which is one of the reasons we wanted him sacked,he doesn’t give players the opportunity to play.eguavon knows olisa ndah when he was here and I can tell u that he is a good player
What is Ahmed Musa doing on the list? He is past it and has tried for the nation but sentiments aside we still have alot of alternatives. Ighalo should have been allowed to be where he is despite his prolific form in AFCON.
Coach Eguavoen should be made the coach of Belgian national team side. From the team selection, it is clear we are winning the world cup. Nigeria wins all.
Gbam Chief.
God bless the Nigerian coach for approving our list.
This list is not completed. Where is Amoo now?
See list, this is how to know a good coach. Good luck our SE of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thank God for our list for the Super Eagles.
Oga leave my name alone o
Where is Moses Simon? We need him as a back-up winger o
This is a wonderful day in my country. Good luck authentic Nigerians
I am so fulfilled. Great news.
I love the list because Awoniyi, umar, Nwakali inclusion covers the bad inclusion
Moses Simon is among the list bro
@Tols..welcome back!
Onwajunior, I sight you bro. Long time.
How did they even cut down from 40 man list to 28 when there was no training?. The 40 man list was just unnecessary afterall
So Ahmed Musa and ighalo still made the team list? Let’s wait and see how omo9ja and jimmyball will convince us on how ndah of Orlando pirates deservedly made the list
Corruption don start.. paying for slot… well olisa has been on fire for Orlando tho since he left akwa united.. am happy for him… And for Musa and ighalo oga we go shout till next century those two won’t leave that list just cos of experience I guess…
Nigerians are happy. What a way to celebrate Christmas. Oh yes o.
This is a good team list. Many thanks to Austin. Next is to work on their stamina and of course tactics.
Wisdom will not kill you bro.
How did Ndah make the list in place of Akpoguma?
Why Noble?
Why leave out Ebuehi and go with an extra goalie who is inactive?
Why Ighalo when Amoo can be that X FACTOR?
What’s done is done…
Good luck SE
@Tola
why 4 goalkeepers ? 4th goalkeeper waste of space
Why is Samuel Kalu missing? Can’t understand why Akpoguma and Ebuehi are left out and Ndah included. The attacking midfield does not seem dependable. Abdul Ajagun(Cape Town City will be a good addition. The fourth goalkeeper is surplus to requirement.
Drop one goalkeeper and quickly bring in Amoo and Victor Moses who already agreed to play again for his father’s land. Ekong will be made meat of by Salah. Balogun is just recovering from injury. He will mess up or he could score own goal when under pressure.
Because of the pandemic 4 goalkeepers are needed should a team lose a couple of goaltenders in a match day to Corona virus.
Why 4 goalkeepers?
Okoye is so superb, even No salah go hia ram.
Just what I was thinking. He for Add Amoo or lookman or Samuel kalu or onyekuru if we all know that midfield was/is week
this country dey funny me every day..Morocco is my team for this tournament..
No excuse. The cup or nothing. Tyrone ebuehi should have made the list but ‘Mr no nonsense’ knows better
This list shows that Eguavon got football deficiency.. what is old leg Musa and heavy duty Ighalo doing there.. LMAFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oya @Chinenye and Co Otapiapia might come in handy oo.. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
We Rohr ass lickers keep winning mehn… LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Up up our coach Eguavoen for doing the country proud.
I tell you Vincent, we are winners. Go SE of Nigeria, up coach Eguas.
WHAT IS THE DEFICIENCY IN THE LIST. LET US KNOW PLEASE. AM NOT IN COMPLETE AGREEMENT WITH THIS LIST BUT IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS THE COACH DOES NOT HAVE THE LUXURY OF TIME TO PREPARE FOR THE TOURNAMENT SO ALL HE COULD DO IS TO RELY ON ESTABLISHED STARS AND ADD A FEW NAMES IN IT. MUSA AND IGHALO ARE THERE NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE SPECTACULAR BUT THEY HAVE THE EXPERIENCE THESE ARE PLAYERS THAT HAVE PLAYED IN THE WORLD CUP AND AGAINST WORLD BEST TEAMS ,EVEN MUSA SCORING AGAINST ARGENTINA SO PLAYING AGAINST SALAH WILL NEVER BE TOO MUCH FOR THEM, IN THIS REGARD THEY ARE BOTH WELCOMED IN THE TEAM.
THE TEAM IS ABOVE AVERAGE TO WIN US THE CUP BECAUSE WE HAVE LESS SKILLFUL PLAYERS IN 2013 WHEN WE WON IT.
NATIONS CUP IS NOT A TOURNAMENT OF TATICS AS SUCH ,OTHERWISE CAMEROUN WOULD NOT HAVE WON THAT MUCH ,IT IS A TOURNAMENT OF GRIT AND WHEN YOU HAVE A WINNING MENTALITY WITH LUCK ON YOUR SIDE THEN ONE CAN CLAIM THE CUP.
LIKE I USE TO SAY TO OUR BROTHERS THAT ARE JUST COMING UP ,WE YOUR ELDERS HAVE SEEN MANY NATIONS CUP ON THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH AND WE CAN CONFIDENTLY TELL YOU THAT SUPER EAGLES WILL PERFORM WELL THOUGH NOT NECESSARILY WINNING THE CUP AS IT IS TOO EARLY TO TALK OF THAT.
THE TWO COUNTRIES I FEAR ARE SENEGAL AND CAMEROUN, SENEGAL BECAUSE THEY HAVE A VERY STRONG TEAM AND MOSTLY BECAUSE PHYSICALLY THEY ARE STRONG AND TALL,AND THEIR PLAY IS ROBUST FOOTBALL NOT ENTERTAINING BUT A GOOD TEAM THAT IS MOBILE CAN OVER POWER THEM WITH PATIENCE.
I FEAR CAMEROUN BECAUSE THEY HAVE GOT A WINNING MENTALITY ONLY ABOVE SUPER EAGLES IN AFRICA. DOGGEDNESS IS THEIR WATCH WORD AND WHEN YOU ADD THE HOME ADVANTAGE TO IT THEY STAND A VERY GOOD CHANCE OF WINNING THE CUP.
I DONT THINK THIS TEAM WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH DIFFERENT IF ROHR IS IN CHARGE . THE PROBLEM WE HAVE WITH ROHR WAS THE PATTERN AND RYTHM OF PLAY WHICH IS SHRINKING AND NOT STRETCHING. HOPEFULLY OUR COACH WILL CONJURE A PATTERN OF PLAY THAT WILL ENABLE EAGLES TO PLAY IF HE CAN GET THIS NO MATTER WHO PLAYS EAGLES WILL WIN THERE IS A WAY SIASIA’S TEAM AT AGE GRADE PLAYS THAT ALLOWS EVERY PLAYER TO SHOW CASE THEIR TALENTS EVEN AVERAGE PLAYERS THAT IS THE WAY I WANT THIS TEAM TO PLAY AND AFTER WATCHING OUR FIRST MATCH AGAINST EGYPT THEN I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY MORE. AGAINST EGYPT I SEE EGYPT SCORING FIRST BECAUSE THEY HAVE THIS MENTALITY OF EUROPEAN FOOTBALL .
ALL FANS IN THE HOUSE LET US FORGET OUR DIFFERENCES TILL AFTER THE TOURNAMENT AND LET US SUPPORT THE COACH. REMEMBER ROHR IS NOT A NIGERIAN EITHER WIN OR LOSE HE IS LESS BOTHERED . I WOULD SUGGEST WE DECLARE A ONE DAY PRAYER AND FASTING KNOWING FULLY THAT WE ARE A RELIGIOUS COUNTRY. THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO SEE NFF AS BEING CORRUPT. GOD BLESS US ALL AND HAPPY XMAS TO EVERYONE .LOVE YOU ALL
Where is Victor Moses, a very vital and proven player that can make wonders anytime? He and Mikel (rated above Mikel according to my personal rating) were the reason we won AFCON 2013 with his wonders. He showed interest recently to be selected and was ignored. Nigeria and politics.
Why not drop one goal keeper for Tyrone Ebuehi? Where Akpoguma in that list? So victor Moses refused coming again.
Omo9ja, now we have nwakali, awoniyi, Dennis, dessers etc. No excuses would be allowed
Is 28 team the final or they are still cutting down to 22?
Final list
Such a wonderful list for our own SE. Praise God folks.
Leon Balogun just returned from injury and no doubt he will be match rusty. Even at his best he is a blunder with his partner in the defense Ekong. That being said, why can’t the Coach include Bassey for Balogun and Collins since the young boy can play both position well and he is more offensive than Collins, Akpoguma has replacement for Shehu Abdullahi becos the guy is no longer what he used to be when he join the Eagles. As for Musa, Simon,Ighalo and the unnecessary 4th goal keeper 2 out of them supposed to have been dropped for Dessers and Anthony Izuchukwu. That Izuchukwu is a ball playing defender, timely and clean tackles almost like Ramos if am not exaggerating. He’s got good passing range and very comfortable on the ball unlike our other shaky defenders
Why four Goalkeepers and then drop Akpogunma who has been in stellar form for Hoffenhaim….. This is very sketchy ….. This Orlando pirates guy didn’t even participate in any of the qualifiers but walks str8 into the team. When last did John Noble play for Enyimba? It’s starting to rear its ugly head again but let’s just watch and see..
It’s good since it is our own list. Make everybody go prepare for yaounde. Good luck folks.
Yes that’s necessary considering the COVID stuff and the extra 5players from CAF, given 1 slot from the 5 to a goal keeper is never a bad idea, the question should be, why Noble of all goalkeeper?
What’s the rationale behind leaving out Akpoguma who features regularly as a right full back for his club in a top 5 league and Abdulahi Shehu who is a bench warning defensive midfielder in his Cyprus club is invited as a right full back? Unbelievable.
calvin bassey, tyrone ebuehi, cyril dessers, henry onyekuru nko o
Some people would have said all kind of rubbish if Rohr was still in charge. According to them, Rohr should have selected Adeleye instead of John Noble who has been inactive for months. If Nwakali and Olisa Ndah could have been smuggled in then what about Amoo and Dressers. The truth is now out for all to see. How could anyone leave out Ebuehi and Akpoguma for Olisa Ndah?
And one funny dude was rubbishing Rohr for playing Jamilu Collins ahead of Brian Idowu of Khimki. I guess Rohr is responsible for this team list too. No Dressers, no Ebuehi but we have Ahmed Musa and Shehu. This must all be Rohr’s fault.
We authentic Nigerians are happy. It is our own list. Good luck SE.
@Jimmyball and @Omo9ja come and see your Equavon oooo. He has included Ighalo, Musa and Ekong again o. Does that make him clueless? I need your responds because he is your preferred coach.
What is olisa ndah doing there? Why go with 4 goal keepers when the highest we will use is two. Now who is doing player business?
Why leave out quality players like Tyrone Ebuehi and Akpoguma? At least we had opportunity to carry 28.
No @Dennis Don’t say that Amoo is not on the list..So that might be their excuse… LMAO! But VM all this while was using us to catch cruise??
Now, this is a team that gives you real confidence – much like putting your best foot forward. A team made up of arguably the best performers out there and not necessarily the ones in the most high-profiled teams or leagues. A team based on raw, on-field individual ability/skills, not ‘paper qualification.’ Except for the commission of Ebuehi, Dessers and Adeleye in Israel (Noble should have been yanked off), few people would argue against this squad.
I bet with Rohr, Onuachi, Akpoguma will be top of the list. Like Buhari, he only swims in familiar waters – even if there are better pools begging for a splash. No adventures, just play safe – it doesn’t matter if Messi switched nationality to Nigeria. He won’t make the team.
The real test for this Maduka Okoye guy is coming soon. We will know whether he is an outstanding goal keeper or just a basket in coming weeks when he faces the likes of Mane, Salah and co. He does not look as a confident one for now. Let’s watch and see
How on earth can they leave out EBUEHI AKPOGUMA DESSER and VICTOR MOSES.
Olisa Ndah didn’t participate in any of the qualifiers, why carry 4 goal keepers. I thought Rohr was a fraud but now is the fraudster. I thought they won’t include Ighalo and Musa because sentimental people thought Rohr was clueless in inviting them.
…hahahahaha. I laugh out loud because person wey know wetin dey about football no come against him because you know just like him personality…
Who saw it coming that Olisah Ndah of Orlando Pirates will make our AFCON 2022 team? I drop his name like three weeks back here and I was mocked and laughed at by you know who… I just busted laughter when I read his name on the list… dude is vastly improved.
We are yet to see Eguaveon on the touchline but you could already tell he understands what he is doing and wants from each player invited…
The authentic Nigerians are happy, celebrating our own list since it was approved. God bless the Nigerian Head Coach Eguavoen. Good luck SE of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
That is true. What a better way to enjoy the Christmas. Coach Eguavoen will do well and even Coach Great Britain our former massa by the time he wins the World Cup in Qatar. Make I find one bottle settle down.
A fair list, happy about nwakali and sadiq umar’s inclusion. Also, seen olisa Ndah. Not a bad defender.
It is clear NFF have their quota of players that are included in the list also but we now have a list and we should support them. Wish the team the best of luck.
A fair list you say because your desired players is there? Olisha Nda ahead of Akpoguma and you called that fair? Why didn’t they remove Musa,Sehu,Ighalo that you guys have been criticizing the former coach of taking bribe from the list if truly they are good? All of you suddenly went mute but now the team is made up of like 4players playing in second division Collins,Nwakali,Sadiq and this unknown NDA even Noble made the team none of you can talk but it’s a fair list well, judgement day is near when all of you will apologize to that man you called so many names despite doing a good job for Nigeria.
@tayo, you are right rohr does deserve an apology regarding team selection. It is clear that NFF has reared its head in selecting the list. I must admit I haven’t seen much of akpoguma to warrant me crying murder for his exclusion. However, I feel very strongly that dessers should have been there ahead of ighalo but the nigerian way has come to play in team selection.
Sentiments is picked over merit.
A fair list..But it’s high time Ahmed Musa gives way for younger players, it’s better he leaves wen d ovation is loudest..Let’s pray n hope Eguaveon succeed cos d defense list is shaky. In all I wish them good luck..
It is good news our own list was approved by our own coach. The next think now na camping. God bless Eguavoen.
There is no option than to be appy, our own na final list. Up coach Eguas for making nigerians appy.
So @JimmyBall you are celebrating now that a guy playing kerewa…… kerewa football in Orlando Pirate RSA is picked ahead of a regular scoring defender in Bundesliga and another one in Italy.
You truly have the interest of Nigeria at heart I can see, you go soon here wen for AFCON in few days time
I like Kevin Akpoguma and was happy he has chosen Nigeria… but Nigeria is no pushover that just because you play in Bundesliga and had your football education abroad then automatically you walk straight into the fold and pick a jersey… I know Akpoguma has a better profile based on exposure and league he is playing in… but I bet Eguaveon has debated this list for atleast a week with all the Nigeria technical committee players and sought Okocha and Kanu’s advice on competing names… My only pain is that Akpoguma is not part of the list but you all should blame Rohr for not helping him to even give him 25minutes atleast in games he turned up and was invited… He was always quality but Rohr stuck to Balogun and Ekong even though they were committing errors! I was wondering for a very long time why Gernot Rohr never deemed it fit to play Akpoguma against any opposition during our qualifiers for AFCON as well as Qatar but his omission is an opportunity for him to kit risk injury and do well for Hoffenheim so that he can come back to the fold in March for playoffs and thereafter world cup…
Akpoguma took too long to decide on his Nigeria future but it’s better later than never… I saw his ommision spurring his passion to play himself back into force… he also needs to toughen his game because we have seen him against African opposition and his show then almost ruined his welcome to Super Eagles… Let’s go there… no shaking and good list!!!
We shall be watching Ekong, Musa and Ighalo closely… I have no qualms over there inclusion even though I would have preferred others to them!!! One love…
Coach Eguavoen is winning the cup no doubt. Nigerians are satisfied which is actually what we want for authentic Nigerians. God bless Nigerians, folks
Very wonderful list. Infact a winning team from us members of CSN forum. God bless Super Eagles.
@jimmyball, if Rohr had taken us to the nations cup and picked Musa, ighalo, Shehu, noble you would run amok. Now, these same set of players are picked by ‘let us fail with our own ‘ and you let it slide. Why?
No lookman, ejaria, ebuehi, bassey, dessers, amoo, victor Moses etc and no one rants. If Rohr was the one behind this list, you would be fuming
God bless Coach Eguavoen…See forwards
Ahmed Musa (Fatih Karagumruk, Turkey); Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal FC, Spain); Victor Osimhen (Napoli FC, Italy); Moses Simon (FC Nantes, France); Sadiq Umar (UD Almeria, Spain); Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin, Germany); Odion Jude Ighalo (Al-Shabab Riyadh, Saudi Arabia); Alex Iwobi (Everton FC, England); Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England); Emmanuel Dennis (Watford FC, England)
The moment Ighalo came back… You know he was always going to be a part of the list to AFCON… as Nigerians we are emotional people and you will know Ighalo has done some decent things for Nigeria… the issue some of us had is that speaking strictly in football terms, we can do without an Ighalo especially for the fact he has left the team on retirement in the past… Some of us know once he is recalled he will be sending another worthy player out of the team… but a very fit Ighalo would do more than Onuachu and it just so happened Onuachu sadly got injured making Ighalo’s case more plausible! I like Lookman and Ejaria but both having no involvement up till this time… it was always going to an herculean task for any of the two to displace established players like Iwobi, Moses Simon… they can be sure that wity improved club form, they will still be considered in the future… the case of Musa is had to argue against since he has got his fitness back(I watched Karagumruk last three games and Musa was a factor in all those games), he is back to his enviable speed levels and we know he can still ball tight… Musa is still more useful than Samuel Kalu who needs to urgently get his career back on track… too many drama with his passing out during games and injury problems! Amoo was always going to be a wildcard but we know he is good to go already… let him watch the AFCON and learn… I see Amoo making the World Cup Party but AFCON 2022 involvement would have taken him to either the likes of Ajax, Porto or Dortmund… he has the quality.
Akpoguma being omitted is sad but after pledging allegiance to Nigeria… Rohr being rigid with tampering with his trusted soldiers did not do much for him… Ordinarily, I Will have picked Akpoguma ahead of Ndah to be honest but I guess the coaches are yet to be convinced about Akpoguma and the African game… Let’s be honest the foreign borns struggle in the African game but that is not saying Akpoguma would have struggled again but I see Akpoguma coming back and playing if Ekong continued to falter in his game. We must acknowledge that Olisah Ndah has massively improved and we must allow Eguaveon and trust him on the list put forward… atleast we see truthfulness compared to Rohr era… Rohr would have taken Samuel Kalu even though he has underperformed in Ligue 1 this season… Nwakali, Dennis and Awoniyi is nothing but honesty again another departure from cult practice… Lol.
Akpoguma played 90 mins against South Africa home and away. People like u blamed Rohr for rushing him into the African game. He lost his place due to injuries. Stop blaming Rohr for every thing bad in our football. Olisa Ndah has no business being in that squad. Let’s wait and see what your Ndah and Nwakali will do. Goodluck to the team.
Sierra Leone i meant to type. And you have suddenly kept mute on Amoo and Dressers.
Hahahahaha…..MuYiwa, some people have has lost their passion for “speaking the truth”…..LMAOooo. They have lost their passion for fighting for justice for our best and most inform players out there…..LMAOooo.
Its a black man with a black skin in charge now, so anything that was unacceptable before is acceptable now. Amoo, Alhassan, Dessers, Olayinka, Ajayi, Nwakaeme, Joel obi etc not making the team in no longer an unpardonable sin….LMAOoooo.
The 9-wise men had the opportunity to smuggle 2 name into the list but didnt find any of the above names worthy enough….LMAOooo.
The SE no longer need 10 CFs like before….LMAOooo.
God is the greatest indeed. God never sleeps nor slumber. See as all their long mouths just weak all of a sudden….LMAOOoo.
Their disappointment is palpable, but shame nor gree them complain…..LMAOooo. Na so shame nor go gree them complain till we start digging for crude oil on the FIFA rankings table once again…LMAOoooo
I am not sure you watched the Nigeria vs Sierea Leone game. Akpoguma put every foot wrong on that day. Was largely responsible for draw.
Akpoguma lost his shirt in the SE after the 4-4 draw game against SL. Many fans came for his head after the game. Many believe Rohr was only playing him ahead of other players because of his skin color. Him and Zaidu were single out for criticism. Thereafter, it was difficult for both of them to reclaim their shirts. Please no one should blame rhor. Even @Jimmyball was one vocal person on this platform about the boy inclusion in eagles. Saying he is not a SE material.
Little do we know that Rhor was trying to ease Kelvin gradually into the SE set up. Today we all are crying about his non inclusion smh
Personally I will prefer him and ebuehi to omeruo and idah.
You have no qualm because it is your own coach that invited them but like talking with both mouth. Don’t worry judgement day is coming
The people (ighalo and musa) whom u and your group attacked, crucified and hated rohr for made the cut but surprisingly u looked the other way whilst basking in the euphoria of an unknown guy whom u claim was suggested by you. Why haven’t u called out eguavon or attacked him the way u normally do for inviting ighalo and musa yet again????? Eguavon must really be as stupid and clueless as rohr, I guess.
I have responded about Ighalo and Musa… Atleast I watch Musa but no one knows so much about what Ighalo is doing in Saudi Arabia other than his scored goals reported by CSN and online media every now and then especially since his imminent return to the team was in the air… What is the use cursing since the team has been released already.
It is just funny how a player… Olisah Ndah was mocked by my friend @Dr.Drey just a few months back as an amateur because the young guy was invited for trials by Orlando Pirates from Akwa Ibom and like an individual with talisman went from a trualist straight to a first teamer at Pirates and now an AFCON bound bloke… Some people’s success story is just simply meteoric… I am still waiting for @Dr.Drey to throw another comical insult on Olisah Ndah… but I will direct such to Austin Eguaveon since the young man did not name himself on the squad… lol.
@jimmyball you are just a hypocrite. You wouldn’t have written all these epistle to justify the inclusion of ighalo and Musa if Rohr was in charge. All of a sudden, it’s okay to call them to the squad. You are just being two faced. So ighalo and Musa didn’t bribe their way to get into the squad
Hahahaha. Oakfield…..All of a sudden, there is now a good justification for Musa and Ighalo being in the SE….the same Musa and Ighalo these cheap frauds have wanted to behead me for. The same Musa and Ighalo these self-centered enemies of our common progress used as ammunition to concoct all sort of lies to see Rohr’s back…..LMAOoooo….all of a sudden they are now finding justification for their retention in the SE simple because the skin colour of the coach has changed…..LMAOooo.
You see the way God works…? You see the way God is finally vindicating Rohr…?
Akpoguma was not good enough because he has not played at least 25 minutes under Rohr, But Olisah Ndah who has never even gotten any invitations from Rohr previously is good enough. This is a guy a poured 3 videos of his games with our CHAN and U23s and 5 of his most recent games at pirates, conceding own-goals and penalties in both club and national team colours all of a sudden being good enough and a better choice than Akopguma and Calvin Bassey who can both play mulitple positions…..LMAOOooo
All of a sudden, listing 10 defenders and 5 midfielders is no longer a crime
All of a sudden a midfielder who has not delivered a single goal or assists for his club in the second division, has neither topped passing charts, tackles or interceptions charts, never won a man of the match or player of the month award for his club in his 3rd season at the club is a better option than Akinkunmi Amoo or Alhassan Yusuf or Joel Obi……LMAOooooo
All of a sudden, people who didn’t make 40 Man provisional list can now make the final 28 man list without screening and yet hell will not be let loose….LMAOoooo.
All of a sudden, there is no qualm that not a single outfield homebased player was selected to “ENCOURAGE THEM AND BOOST THEIR MORALE”……LMAOOooo
I can go on and on……LMAOoooo
All I know is that we wont tolerate any excuses….if they like, they should populate the team with Bangladesh based players…..they should just ensure that we have both the trophy and our world cup ticket by march….else, they will see a 3D visualization of HELL.
WHAT A JOKE…..! LMAOooooo
At least it is dawning on them all with each passing day that Rohr wasnt the problem afterall.
Bro calm down, the problem we gat with Rorh is mainly about his playing style and lack of reading of the game, nobody hate him now common, high time you support the present coach at least for the sake of our belove country.
Drey. Can’t you move on. Can you do an analysis of this list and let us enjoy your rich wealth of knowledge. Afcon is just around the corner. Let us see what you think about the players and our chances of doing well. Rohr has gone. You don’t need to be bitter about it anymore. Move on. You can’t always be right. Rohr allowed his own downfall..
Your insinuations of ‘Christians and hypocrisy or you can’t have 100% perfect list’ does not really show what that post tried to pass across..
That post does not show total agreement with the list. Please read the comment again. Musa and ighalo are there already, what can we do. And that does not mean we can’t have better players there. I said I would prefer dessers in place of ighalo. So where’s the hypocrisy.
Can you let us read what you think about the list and leave any other sentiment out.
Rohr is stacked and you are still blaming him for player omition, that’s fair enough. It is also fair to say akpoguma omition is because he didn’t get play time under Rohr, buh forgotten that Nda has never in anytime be a part of the team. So, from your statement what justifies Nda inclusion ahead of akpoguma. Fair enough this list is still 80% of Rohr list, he may not have included nwakali buh he would have included Victor Moses which would have been important part of the team than Nda that could end up as short 1 in the team.
Hahahahaha…..My brother, you will be heavily mistaken if you think common sense is not common.
Rohr is to blame for an Akpoguma with 4 caps for Nigeria not making the list ahead of Ndah who has never even gotten an invite to even train with the main SE before…..LMAOooooo.
Na sidon look we dey. We know Nigerian coaches only go to tournaments with 15 good players and 8 backup singers. CAF has done our 9-man consortium of stomach-infrastructure chases well by allowing them the luxury an extra 5 choreographers and they have taken full advantage of it…..LMAOoooo
Drey. So you are not supporting Nigeria at afcon because of rohr? Common move on. You can’t always be right. Rohr is sacked because he became foolish and clueless. If eguavon toe the same lane, he also gets the booth.
NDA is even ahead of their Izuchukwu and they didn’t complain. Dr.drey made one valid point all these their invited new guys just walk straight to d final list without any training to screen them and no body complain. Does it mean NDA,Nwakali are that good? If it were Rohr that did something like this by now one would av start seeing messages like he has taking bribe, he is clueless etc imagine players who doesn’t kick a single game in the qualifier and is not as if they are that spectacular but because the coach like them made the team. When we were telling them during Rohr that every coach has his special players they refused to listen now they all gone mute even the one who use to hail Mr no nensense hasn’t shown up now
Hehhehehe…..Tayo, everything that was a transgression under Rohr is now OK. Rapture has taken place we are now in a new Jerusalem….LMAoooo.
That is why a midfielder who has not scored or assisted or made team of the week or man of the match for his second division club in his 3rd season and a defender who needed trials to get a deal in south African league and has been conceding penalties for free can both walk into our final AFCON squads without even making the provisional squad while the likes of Akpoguma (2 goals 3 assists in the German Bundesliga) and Akin Amoo (a strong and highly technically gifted AM with 9 goals and 5 assists).
That is what direct phone calls to a coach can get you nowadays…LMAOoooo
It is clear Ighalo and musa are in the team for motivational reasons. Let us get behind the team and support as fans of the SE.
What a tactical coach. With this list I am 100% sure Coach Eguavoen is winning Afcon gold. Good luck SE.
I can’t wait for our first match. See list… Ahmed Musa (Fatih Karagumruk, Turkey); Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal FC, Spain); Victor Osimhen (Napoli FC, Italy); Moses Simon (FC Nantes, France); Sadiq Umar (UD Almeria, Spain); Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin, Germany); Odion Jude Ighalo (Al-Shabab Riyadh, Saudi Arabia); Alex Iwobi (Everton FC, England); Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England); Emmanuel Dennis (Watford FC, England)
The list is good but ebuche, apoguma missing and we have 4goal minders. We have unknown parate defender, we have Musa, we have senior man the bench warmer in his club. We even have iwobi who has been on the bench. Do you think if nija were England, senior man and iwobi will smeall the list base on club performance? Nija while?
Relatively OK list. Four goalies, so unnecessary, so annoying, so unambitious, so pedestrian. Ighalo and Musa means we are going with 26 man team. I hope they won’t be starting sha, I wish them great reunion and holidaying with the main team. They midfield looks good and ambitious. Kudos on that. I won’t condemn Idah. We will like to see why he was included. As for Ighalo and Musa, we have seen enough of those one. No point bringing Victor Moses as being clamored for. He is gone beyond his prime, surely… Best wishes to the team overall
My major grouse about the list is the omission of Akpoguma. To me, that’s the height. Why omit him. Apart from playing regularly, that dude is better than some defenders in that list. Is this how we are going to appreciate and encourage him after we lured him to come and play for us?
If all the players in that list are better than him, I wouldn’t have felt bad. But, that’s not the case
Folk, when I look at our forwards, I say schiiiiz.
Ahmed Musa (Fatih Karagumruk, Turkey); Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal FC, Spain); Victor Osimhen (Napoli FC, Italy); Moses Simon (FC Nantes, France); Sadiq Umar (UD Almeria, Spain); Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin, Germany); Odion Jude Ighalo (Al-Shabab Riyadh, Saudi Arabia); Alex Iwobi (Everton FC, England); Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England); Emmanuel Dennis (Watford FC, England)
Even our own defenders.
Chidozie Awaziem (Alanyaspor FC, Turkey); Kenneth Omeruo (CD Leganes, Spain); Leon Balogun (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland); William Ekong (Watford FC, England); Olaoluwa Aina (Torino FC, Italy); Jamilu Collins (SC Padeborn 07, Germany); Abdullahi Shehu (AC Omonia, Cyprus); Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto, Portugal); Olisa Ndah (Orlando Pirates, South Africa)
He joined Nigeria cuz he couldn’t get into the German team..It’s not like he was so so overtly Patriotic or whatever…He is also slow like Balogun and doesn’t fit into the African football system…Dat Oliseh Ndah is actually very good. I just chked his performances for Pirates..Cool, Calm and collected, Comfortable on both feet, builds the play from behind, An imposing physique well suited for African football…Calvin Bassey exclusion pains me more tho.
Ebuehi, moffi,lookman
Everybody cannot be on our list. Next time list for sure.
See players
Chidozie Awaziem (Alanyaspor FC, Turkey); Kenneth Omeruo (CD Leganes, Spain); Leon Balogun (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland); William Ekong (Watford FC, England); Olaoluwa Aina (Torino FC, Italy); Jamilu Collins (SC Padeborn 07, Germany); Abdullahi Shehu (AC Omonia, Cyprus); Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto, Portugal); Olisa Ndah (Orlando Pirates, South Africa)
You are right.
With only about a week of camping before facing Egypt. It’s a very good list with few surprises, but that’s what tournament football is all about. A mixture of experience youth and a team already growing together for some time now. I like Sadiq Awoniyi and Dennis inclusions. They will give us more firepower and vigor in attack. Eguavoen swapped Amoo for Nwakali and brought in a new defender in Olisah Nda. Who knows he could be a revelation let’s watch and see. It’s quite laughable for anyone to think that Musa and Ighalo will be dropped at this stage in their career. The obligation is to win the cup and I believe we have a squad that can go all the way. If Eguavoen knows what he’s doing there are various options for him to use as the tournament progresses. Wishing the SuperEagles all the best in Cameroon and happy holidays everyone. #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE# VAMOS ARRIBBA SUPEREAGLES!!!
Thank God our coach accepted our list. God bless SE.
See goal tenders
Francis Uzoho (AC Omonia, Cyprus); John Noble (Enyimba FC); Daniel Akpeyi (Kaizer Chiefs, South Africa); Maduka Okoye (Sparta Rotterdam, The Netherlands)
We already saw the list, why reposting in everywhere? All of you newcomer in this forum just polluting the space for no reason. Habba
Moses Simon is among the list bro
Didn’t want to respond or comment anymore especially since I responded to @Ola’s comments, but am compelled to agree and applaud you despite our seeming disagreements of late due to Gernot Rohr.
I believe political considerations, NFF magic and Eguavoen preferences finally had a hand on the final list.
Shehu and Musa are political
Ighalo, Noble …NFF
Nwakali, Ndah… Eguavoen
Akppguma, Ebuehi and Amoo deserve it in place of Nwakali, Noble and Ndah.
But like you rightly said; tournament football comes with lots of intrigues, horse tradings and surprises.
Basically 85% of players we expected to see. The job now is whether EGU can make drrams happen like Otto Gloria, like WESTERHOFF…like KESHI
Good luck Nigeria
“….Imagine CONFUSED ROHR leaving out ADELEYE in favour of John Noble. Lets agree he wanted a local based goalie, what happened to the man benching him in ENYIMBA? How does one rationale leaving out CYRIL DESSERS for Ighalo?….”
“….Imagine ROHR considering Bundelsga 2 Jamilu Collins instead of KHIMKHI of Russia regular BRIAN IDOWU. Also Shehu who warms the bench in Cyprus is given the nod ahead of Semi Ajayi or Kingsley Michael who play in better leagues and are also regulars….”
“….I bet you, its onlt retrogreeive and clueless semseless individuals like you who will prefer a bench warmer in CYPRUS (top 25 Euro league) to regulars playing in top 10 leagues. Joel Obi (barring injuries) can play DM and left back. Plays in Seria A which is a top 4 EUROPEAN league. As bad as Joel Obi is, he is way better than SHEHU and BONKE!….”
“….How can ROHR prefer a second division SODIQ UMAR to Dessers or Saudi based Ighalo ahead of DESSERS?….”
“…Only an INSANE coach like ROHR leaves players like DESSERS, NWAKAEME, OLAYINKA, AMOO out his team…”
Quotable quotes for the reading pleasure of CSN readers from some of our greatest freedom fighters of all time…..LMAOooo.
I guess all these are no longer issues anymore.
Imagine the hushed tones in which they are all speaking now…..LMAOOoo
Fair list although everybody cannot be there nevertheless, this list generated less rancour, a departure from the past.
I believe coach EGU will be more open and liberal. Good luck Nigeria
This is my killer squad for AFCON. With this, we are sure of winning.
Maduka Okoye
Chidozie Awaziem Troost Ekong (sub-Omeruo) Leon Balogun Ola Aina (Sub- Zaidu)
Wilfred Ndidi (Sub- Onyeka)
Joseph Aribo (Sub – Kelechi Iheanacho) Chidera Ejuke (Sub- Alex Iwobi)
Chukwuze (sub – Simon) Dennis Emmanuel ( Sub- Alex Iwobi)
Victor Osimhen (1st sub- Awoniyi, 2nd- Umar and Odion)
Even me, the first time we have a real coach.
So they leave out this German defender, Opoguma? May he didn’t pat his dues!!
Infact Coach Eguavoen is winning the World cup. These are international keepers
See list
Francis Uzoho (AC Omonia, Cyprus); John Noble (Enyimba FC); Daniel Akpeyi (Kaizer Chiefs, South Africa); Maduka Okoye (Sparta Rotterdam, The Netherlands)
That’s true.
You are correct. See strikers
Ahmed Musa (Fatih Karagumruk, Turkey); Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal FC, Spain); Victor Osimhen (Napoli FC, Italy); Moses Simon (FC Nantes, France); Sadiq Umar (UD Almeria, Spain); Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin, Germany); Odion Jude Ighalo (Al-Shabab Riyadh, Saudi Arabia); Alex Iwobi (Everton FC, England); Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England); Emmanuel Dennis (Watford FC, England)
Like at the Olympic Games Nigeria will return from AFCON with a bronze medal
You bad
What a wonderful list merry Christmas,we would definitely have playmakers in the first eleven now, it’s going to be entertaining watching the team at afcon I hope nwakwali start playing in the first eleven and I hope the coach gets his first team and bench right.
They should not leave out Opuguma, is a rugged Germany defender
I think one of nff top official must be behind the inclusion of john noble into this team because there is no justification to include him at all talk less of the the team having four goalkeeper..The more we look, the less we see
Coach Eguavoen will coach belgium if not Germany. Very technically sound. View clip
https://youtu.be/Ey5KcdrfvaM
He has God’s blessings following him. You curse him, you curse your family. Good luck Nigeria.
This is a wonder coach. I just finished listening to him. Good luck coach Eguavoen.
This man should come coach we.
Hmm…Akpoguma for Omeruo
Ebuehi for Shehu
Dessers for One goal keeper..that’s all for me but all the same, if Eguavoen can select good first 11 with nice attacking pattern, we’ll go far..if not win the tournament.
I know the Ndah guy, he looked like Iwobi from afar may be cos of the hairstyle, he played against Mexico and he and Sanusi were the best players on the pitch that day and sometimes plus Iwuala.
I’ll rather choose up and coming Calvin Bassey who has been doing so well in the central defense for Glasgow Rangers than Pius Ndah who had barely featured in the pirates team
Ndah is a regular for pirates please get ur facts right
He missed their last games due to injury
_ A Tribute to Excluded Players _
I would like to use this opportunity to pay tribute to players excluded from this squad. I remain grateful to their contributions and hope to see (some) of them kit up for future Super Eagles assignments.
These players are:
Goalkeepers
1)Ikechukwu Ezenwa (19 caps): A large bevy of Super Eagles fans were never sold on his application between the sticks for Nigeria. He was seen as porous and positionally defective with questionable catching skills. Forever playing second fiddle to Akpeyi and Uzoho, the emergence of Okoye and his lackadaisical form in the NPFL put paid to his Super Eagles slot.
The coaching crew would have been stoned if Ezenwa made the Afcon list and his Super Eagles career looks all but over.
2)Tyrone Ebuehi (10 caps): Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise for Ebuehi to miss this tournament as it will afford him the opportunity to entrench himself in his club as they battle Serie A survival. It is now two Afcon tournaments in a row that the exciting fullback will miss. The emergence of Sanusi and the versatility of Awaziem put intolerable pressure on Ebuehi’s Super Eagles position.
The 26 year old, who actually played 1 Afcon qualifier against Lesotho in March, still has a huge future with the Super Eagles if he stays fit and active in club football. A number of fans are left gutted by his exclusion from this Afcon.
3)Semi Ajayi (15 caps): another player who will be missing two afcons in a row. Having missed the last tournament, Gernot Rohr gave Ajayi ample opportunity to stake a claim in the Super Eagles but Ajayi failed to impress. For a tall guy, he was suspect in the air and he can be slow to react.
Ajayi featured in 4 out of the 6 Afcon qualifiers but was seen as weak link in defence. His place in the team came under strain following the inclusion of Ozornwafor and Akpoguma. It remains to be seen whether he will attract future Super Eagles invitations.
4)Samuel Kalu (17 caps) : injuries and illnesses have blighted the career of Kalu in the past 2 seasons. An astute winger, the emergence of Ejuke further compounded his national team woes.
Kalu still has a future with the Super Eagles if he regains his match fitness and stays healthy for a prolonged period. His exclusion from this Afcon squad is unsurprising owing to his recent health issues.
5)Cyriel Dessers (1 cap): despite having never played 90 minutes for the Super Eagles – something he also struggles with in club football – Dessers remains a fan favourite. Many Super Eagles fans have built a picture in their minds of how deadly Dessers can be for Nigeria.
With so many strikers available to Nigeria at this, it was always going to be tricky for the coaches to squeeze Dessers in. Many will argue that he deserves to be in the team ahead of Ighalo and Ahmed Musa but Ighalo is a proven goals scorer in international football and Musa is a legend.
Although overlooked this time around, Dessers still very much has a future with Nigeria.
6)Henry Onyekuru (15 caps) : I see Onyekuru as an unserious footballer. He is immensely talented and definitely deserves to be in the Afcon squad. But his questionable work ethics, low work rate and self-inflicted constant unsettled club status have conspired to lead to his exclusion.
Onyekuru is a far more technical dribbler than Ejuke. He is positionally competent and can unlock defences with his purposeful runs and defence splitting passes.
It’s a shame to see such a huge talent go to waste. I for one will miss him at the Afcon.
Others include:
Paul Onuachu: out injured but won’t be missed by many as he isn’t entirely a fan favourite.
Kevin Akpoguma: the sacking of Rohr probably cost him his place. Akpoguma still has a future with the Super Eagles.
Anayo Iwuala: leaving the NPFL for a North African team dimmed his immediate Super Eagles chances. Stellar performances for his club might yet see him attract future invitations.
Brian Idowu: he has been overlooked since 2019. His Super Eagles days seem well and behind him. I miss him in Super Eagles colours.
So emotional and well written. Anayo Iwuala’s case was the work of politicians and player agents. They played the local players inclusion trick on us. He was ‘very very good’ at Enyimba but suddenly became irrelevant immediately he left for Tunisia. HMMM
A good list but I think Akpoguma should have made the list for playing regularly in a team in the champions League position of the bundesliga.
I’m sure he would feel hard done by.
Rohr wouldn’t have dropped him.Having said that,a good roster notwithstanding.
Looking at the list we have so many strikers, the good thing is,it has created competition in that department,so you have to play at a commanding level to keep your place otherwise you lose your starting spot. With this list and proper coaching we should finish as one of the teams on the podium.
The next stage now is camping.Lets support this team,it’s our team end of the day and hope we come back with the trophy it’s high time we caught up with the likes of Egypt, Cameroon and Ghana that have won mores times to have a bragging right amongst the best sides in the continent.
Rohr where are thine accusers???
They said Rohr was wrong inviting the likes of
MUSA
IGHALO
NOBLE….
… follow pesin wey sabi road o…
4 GK in a team is quite laughable…. Can 3 GK get injured in a one month tournament????
The first Storm is weathered….
What next????
So many unknown soldiers praising the new coach and his list. But funny enough, I have never seen any of the names or identities in this forum except today. Very likely, it is one person using multiple accounts
You are smart, been wondering where all this names spring from, the forum is getting polluted for my liken.
Our own is doing us proud. The inclusion of Nwankali shows that Cerezo knew what Rhor’s team lacked, a creative midfielder who could carry the ball to the strength of the team (stickers). This way, we can both use wing play, middle or both unlike in d last afcon where the only effective play was through d wings using musa and chukwueze. It was effective against South Africa but not Algeria, they took out our wingers. This current team is a more complete team and I see them going far….we will not fail with our own
Not bad but still has some itchy inclusions. Anyway you can’t have a 100% perfect list..
1. The inclusion of awoniyi Dennis umar sweet my belle. Caf just made the job easier for us with the decision to increase list to 28. That strike force is our strength.
2. If oshimen end up not making it, desser may come in..but it pained me for dessers Sha.
3. On Musa: I know Musa will make the team. He is doing well for his club. He is playing regularly. He is the captain. This is his last afcon. Haba if you are the Coach, you will not leave him out. Even his enemy will not leave him out. But I don’t expect him to start games.
4. On ighalo: Well the deal still continues. It was wrong to bring him out of retirement. He is also scoring in Saudi Arabia. He has the experience. I don’t expect him to start games too. His presence and that of Musa in rhe dressing should help tge confidence of the team. However, I would have preferred dessers in his place.
5. On akpoguna and ebuehi: this one is bad. He is better today than calamity ekong. Even balogun is just coming back from injury. Ndah should have waited for his time. It’s likely eguavon and others must have looked at how akpoguna have struggled with African football..but it really pained me for akpoguna and ebuehi.
6. On shehu: I am still looking for the juju man that is helping this guy. Anyway, the only thing I can pick up from him is that he is a utility player. This can fome good in the competition. I hope he is fit. Eguavon was a utility player in his days too. I still remember how shehu came good in the away match against sierra Leone in the midfield..
7. On four goalkeepers. This is COVID period. There may be the need to have one more goalkeeper because we have an extended list. But Noble definitely does not deserve this spot.
8. On lookman ejaria: I doubt if they have been properly cleared..anyone with an authentic news from ademola adelakun should let us know.
9. Bassey, amoo sorry. You still have time.
10. On iwobi and iheanacho: They have not been starters but they have not been completely idle. I believe they are fit too. They have experience. They have won matches for Nigeria through individual efforts. We will be foolish to leave them out.
11..If ekong can be made to sit on the bench. If Moses Simon can be made to sit on the bench. If Aribo can give 99.9% of what he gives in rangers. If iwobi can just please come good in afcon, our attack can kill anyone in afcon.
One more thing: uzoho should be our first choice. Okoye still need time to settle down well.
Can’t be said any better brother.
Yeye so you can analyse like this? If it were that invited all those players that u used one flimsy excuse to back your write up would have longer than this. See the evil men do lives with them, we shall how it all end in a not long time.
Hahahahahaha….I am not surprised….LMAOooo…even “Christians” can be hypocrites at times.
All of a sudden some people have just come to the realization that “..Anyway you can’t have a 100% perfect list..” LMAOoooo.
All of a sudden, they now know Musa and Ighalo are still playing very well for their clubs and are experienced….LMAOOoo.
All of a sudden, If this, If that, If one could take an okada from Lagos to London, If Christmas can be celebrated 7 times in a year, If Burundi can purchase the whole of Newyork and pay the money into Central bank of Nigeria……If, If and Ifs…LMAOooo
See them all struggling hard to hide their disappointments….LMAOoo. See how vindication is making jest of them all….LMAOoo
Na sidon look we dey.
Drey. Sidon look. So you’re expecting the failure if the team so that you can have something to write. That’s immaturity.
If rohr is taking SE to afcon, I would still have supported the team with my heart.
Christian ministry please just change your name, you are a big liar from the pit of hell. You were among those praying for Rohr to be sacked and also praying for him to fail. You criticize his team and everything single thing he did whether good or bad. You were even happy he was owed, I remember all your comments against him. Is your conscience killing you after seeing Equavon list? Why lie that you would have supported Rohr when you were a racist over Rohr issue.
For more than a decade I have followed and read comments here. I wonder what drives the comments you make, especially on G Rohr and the Super Eagles.
You can disagree and as well state your reasons, but you need to know that the good of the team is paramount and not your personal feelings.
Your comments have made this space pretty toxic for some of us.
It is just football.
Very very toxic and immature my brother. Not even when his most ardent co-ROHR supporters have since moved on. I mean people like GREENTURF, AYPHILLY ETC have since embraced reality.
I insist no one gets psid here. So no need for all these unnecessary bad blood over the sacking of an underachieving and boring foreign coach who has not won anything that the worst of our local coaches have not won
There are forces unknown behind the Inclusion of Shehu, Noble, Musa, this new guy and Ighalo in the super eagles
I’ve known all along that it’s never the wish of Rohr (except Ighalo).
Apart from those names, it’s a good list and I wish the Super eagles of Nigeria a good outing in Cameroon.
Corruption is part and parcel of NFF.
Go Eagles! Team9jaStrong!
Tyronne Ebuehi, that kid has been in our project for donkey years, plays technical football, why ignore him, why let them come play for your country at the first place and ignore good playe, Kelvin Akpogunma was just and getting used to this team, you lots ignore them and bring in old ighalo back and some guy from Portugal, Paul Aigbohun i never liked your presence in that technical department, only God knows why we let good players out of such tournament and want to win, i cannot find Moses Simon there as well. CEREZO am not happy with this list, yes you can’t satisfy everyone, but nah Ehuehi has been a loyal kid, with high dept. Sorry, you guys aren’t winning this tournament, forget sentiments. we back at our old foolishness again, Sack Rohr weeks to the tournament, now see.
That Izuchukwu is a ball playing defender, timely and clean tackles almost like Ramos or Virgil Van Diyk if am not exaggerating. He’s got good passing range and very comfortable on the ball unlike our other shaky central defenders that can easily be troubled by just any average striker
WHAT DOES THIS GUY SHEHU ABDULLAI BRING TO THE TEAM?
This is just quota system team. Not the best anyday.
That’s why we wanted a foreign coach. In my opinion, local coaches select about 15 players for tournaments based on merit and sell the remaining slots. similar to what Keshi in 2014 WC, where Uchebo, Nwofor etc made the list ahead of Mba and co. Rohr didn’t perform magic in his 1st tenure, he simply selected players based on merit when Oliseh was playing Onobi and Igboun ahead of Mikel
@Ownajunior… Sylvester Igboun and Paul Onobi are not bad players… I have played with Paul and at that time he was the best midfielder in Nigeria league… go check. Everybody won’t play long for national… ball for ball Mikel no play pass Paul Onobi.
You can call me names all you want… A rookie just does not shoot to centre stage in Nigeria football. Anybody in Nigeria who has played with Onobi or watch him play midfield will tell you that guy is a marvel. Every player depending on fortune and destiny can be known in the same way a Mikel, Messi or Cristiano was know. Cheers…
“….I have played with Paul and at that time he was the best midfielder in Nigeria league…”
But you claimed to have ‘trained’ with Onobi in 2003…..or am I missing something….LMAOOooo
Kindly clarify your position sir……LMAOooo…pleaes was Paul Onobi playing in the Nigerian league as at the year 2003 or where you playing in the Nigerian league as at year 2015….LMAOooo.
This latest episode of your tales by sunset is quite intriguing if you ask me…..LMAOoooo
Mr. Man go and understand English… I have played football with Inobi and know his quality. When he played ahead of Mikel in 2015, he was the best midfield player in Nigeria NPFL.
Ask me for clarification before you try to attack me. I am happy after the list announcement and you saw Ndah… your eyes popped out and @JimmyBall came to your mind… I IMAGINE YOU WOULD HAVE SHOUTED THIS GUY @JimmyBall is a wizard…
You SHOULD know not to argue with me anymore about foorltball.
For how you attacked Olisah Ndah labeling him amateur trialist at Orlando Pirates yet bob is on Afcon team party already… by now you are supposed to be eating raw okro to learn your lesson… hahahaha.
It’s good you are here already to witness how Cerezo overhaul Rohr’s negative docile and defeatist mentality…
That guy @Jimmyball is a monumental liar, even devil dey fear at his rate of his lying. From being excluded at u17 camp in 1995, to play in shell cup in 1997, (a tournament that started in 1999 and basically for secondary schools) to now playing with Paul onobi, Kai! Oga, you see most people here are not mumu like u, think about the lies you will post very well before posting it. Double faced idiots. All of a sudden Musa now play well for his club. Idiots.
Hahahahaha…
Between you and I who needs to go and understand english….LMAOooo.
“…I have played with Paul and at that time he was the best midfielder in Nigeria league….”
Maybe this Latin sentence from you, which I have just copied verbatim up there, means anything other than you played with Onobi at the time he was the best midfielder in the Nigerian league.
The last time I checked, the year Onobi was best in the Nigerian league was circa 2015 at 23 years of age, a whole TWELVE YEARS (12 jaars) after you claimed to have quit the lobi stars who claimed to have played for (which latter changed to being an affiliate of)…..LMAOOOoo. So you knew is quality 12 whole years before he made his SE debut….wonderful….LMAOooooo
Ola……LMAOooo…its either Jimmylie (a “senior player” at lobi stars….LMAOOo) played with Paul Onobi in 2003 when Onobi was just 11 years old….LMAOooo…or that he returned to football from retirement after working in a bank for years to play with Onobi in 2015….LMAOoooo.
He clearly thinks all of us are mumu truly….LMAOooo
@Dr.Drey and @Ola… I will address the two aliases even though I know you are both one and same individual… Lol.
I have played with Paul Onobi does not mean I am his mate in football. He was classmate with the dude who is third after me.
Paul Onobi was a guy from North Bank United… Makurdi, my grassroot team. Stephen Ezeh once of Lokomotiv plodiv is also of my grassroot team, when we do come for off-season we all meet at the same pitch to train and keep fitness, we have played scrimmages together and Benue State League several times…
He was a guy groomed by the likes of us, a kid whom we used to call upon to complete numbers in training he is mates with my younger brother who is almost ten years younger than me…
I never told you I was at U-17 camp in 1995, I was in the camp of 1997 with Dominic Oruma in preparation for Meridian Cup (U-17) in Portugal a year after I left Secondary School.
Stop quoting me wrongly just to amuse yourself. I have said so many times that Onobi Paul was invited in 2015 by Oliseh because then he the best midfielder in the NPFL.
I am happy you know he was once nominated and picked that NPFL best midfielder award. Sometimes one makes incoherent sentences because I like to just make quick contributions… You have checked me on this Paul Onobi story before and I have cleared you.
Just try to be a fan of Super Eagles even though your moongod Rohr is no longer coach please. One love…
@Omo9ja,eguavoen did not have an egotistical and intrusive administrator like Amaju in 2006. Egu had no choice , if he failed to dance to their tune , he would have been replaced. Who knows what drama ensued behind the scenes that produced this list. Remember Amaju was talking about replacing him with a foreign coach after initially agreeing that Egu would lead the team. He is a narcissist and the last thing you want to do is to upset such people. Another trait about narcissist is that they like to have their way always and self image is very important to them.
This list is built to attack. Im not too comfortable with the defence but the names of defenders are the most experienced and most tested in the team.
At least eguavoen made good his promise to add nwakali to the list(well done to him for that).
He also has enough cover and competition for osimhen.
Dennis, awoniyi, sadiq in the same team WOW! Im getting excited just seeing their names on the list.
Each and every player on the list with the exception of unknown ndah deserves their call up.
Im guessing shehu will serve as a make shift defensive midfielder.
Bassey will get his time as a left full back in the Super Eagles, the competition is just coming too soon for him to take a claim to a spot.
Not much surprises here but I can say the list looks good. All thats needed is for the team to blend together and play good football.
Oh……so Bassey will get his time as a left full back in the Super Eagles….LMAOOoo..?? The competition is just coming too soon for him to take a claim to a spot….??LMAOOooo.
What happened to “…he should have have started ahead of Balogun at CB against CPV…”, “….how can a german 2nd div player be starting ahead of Bassey who is playing in European competitions..”, “…why is shehu getting game time ahead of bassey…”
I love what im seeing here….LMAOOO
Fellow Nigerians, I’m always laughing when I read and see the ignorance we all display concerning our ways of doing things. No be only politicians be Naija problem but everyone that holds any form of power. Nigerian teams only names 11 starting players and 3 reserves while the rest are follow bodies. Federal characters, coach/agent collabo, coach selling players and NFF man know man determines the rest of the squad. Any coach (Rohr included) that stays long in that role is corrupt and useless. A coach like Antonio Conte will prefer to leave after winning a championship rather than allow for any interference or inconducive environment. Wetin Rohr dey wait for over 5 years if he’s being owed backlog of salary and dem dey interfere in him job? How does he even survive? Does he have a second job somewhere abi him na father christmas?
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Its like you dont know Rohr owns a 4-star beachfront hotel in France….LMAOoo.
If you think he was depending on your $45k per month (which he shares with 4 others) for survival, then you must be highly mistaken…….!
With suites going for as much as €2000 per week, survival isnt supposed to be a topic…..LMAOooooo
My issue with the list is d omission of amoo that guy deserve a look in.
@MuYiwa… Don’t just come and whine. Which Akpoguma played home and away against South Africa? What games were those? When was the last time. Nigeria played any home and away game against South Africa?
Give details of those games because I can’t seem to recall any such game from memory now. Kelechi Nwakali or Akin Amoo is good to go… If Nwakali fails we will go with Amoo next outing, now that’s how you give people opportunity. The jury is still out on the likes of Iheanacho but it will be unfair to discard Iheanacho for Amoo at this point even though we know Amoo dwarfs he, Iheanacho, in midfield terms… People shouting Olisah Ndah does not deserve Afcon… it was his performances since moving to Pirates that did the job for him, one thing we can’t argue is the fact that South African league is the best on the continent and the boy is massively improved…
I already corrected myself up there. Sierra Leone and not South Africa. Now that Ndah is better than Ebuehi, Bassey and Akpoguma who can even play multiple roles, I doff my hat for u, sir
Good squad list..It had a blend of experience Akpeyi, Balogun, Ekong, Ighalo, Musa, Skill- Chukwueze , Iheanocho, Osimhen, Ndidi, Ejuke, Awoniyi and Youth- Ariyo, Ndah and Nwakali. However, I felt Akpoguma should have been in the list for Shehu and Cyriel Dessers for Noble.
January is almost here, grateful to be alive after been attacked by Fulani Bandits last Saturday..we go watch d AFCON, although on the TV screen.
Where is Paul Onuachu?
Wow from the comments so far it seems majority are happy with the list. Which is actually a good thing So guys no excuse o. Good luck!
But I can’t find any comments from my people like @Chima Samuel, @Chinenye and @Ugo Iwunze on this page since the list dropped. Are they still in shock especially with the Musa and Ighalo there? LMAO!!!
If you like dulge from admitting that Musa and Ighalo are on the list because of their wealth of experience.
So @Golden Child you don’t kmow there is something like motivation or inspiration in football when y’all were accusing GENERAL ROHR of collecting bribe??
It has now gotten to your own’s turn, you now remember there is a word like motivation?
Eya I bin think say una go enter Cameroon without them dey form gangsta like ERIGA “If dem no motivate you, motivate yourself” LMFAO!!!!!!
Have noticed a lot of stress someone is taking here. Going about different names just to justify the shitty list of Equavon and also cover their shame in respect of Ighalo and Musa still making the list. Names that since I started commenting on CSN for 3 yrs now I have not seen them here
Go watch Nigeria vs sierra leone and see how our defense comprising of Akpoguma lets in 4 goals
Honestly I’m not 100% satisfy with the team list but the deed had already been done. It’s obvious some players were included in the list due to Godfatherism as usual and they’re Shehu,Musa, ighalo, noble and possibly Ndah.I wonder why players like Dressers,Bassey,Amoo,Ebuehi and Akpoguma are left out of the list? It is also unfortunate that due to the short period of time left for them to prepare they couldn’t afford the new coach time to access some players largely due to poor NFF management of our football.Nevertheless,I’m glad Kelechi Nwakali,Awoniyi,Dennis and Sadiq Umar are part of the team and they would definitely bring balance to the team.Hence,i believe with the players on the list,Coach Austine Eguavoen should be able to win the cup if he knows his onions.I wish them all the best.
Hahahahaha…..Disappointment and Displeasure is palpable…but shame and lack of humility to eat their words and go back to their vomit like a dog is making them swallow what they are seeing now and taking it as it is…..LMAOooo.
All of a sudden, everything that wasnt right under Rohr has become “way to go”…..LMAOooo.
Even failure (ehn faiulure ke, when even a draw in a friendly was a taboo) that was never part of the discussion has become tolerable… a la “let us fail with our own”….LMAOooo
Na sidon look we dey……LMAOoooo.
To think we are paying $2m + 1 year salary and several years bonuses for this makes it even more hilarious…LMAOoo
9-man consortium una ndo o.
That explains how a 40-man list suddenly became 37 man list and why it was NEVER made public. First time in as long as my memory can serve me that the FA will not officially release a national team’s provisional, but release final official tournament squadlist before camping…LMAOoo
NFF, una do well o…..LMAOoooo
This country Nigeria can never moved forward, what is the justification of noble on this team? I give up. All the components of this nff stinks to high heaven. God help us all.
This is a woeful list. A team without Dessers and Akpoguma is criminal. What about Ibrahim Olawoyin, Olanrewaju Kayode and Nwakaeme. This coach is a fraud. Nigeria will find it tough without these players. I never trusted Eguavoen. Rohr should be recalled and reinstated without delay or else the tournament will be difficult.
@drey, for the first time on this forum I agree with some of your comments.Based on this revelation, it is obvious that Eagles problems are beyond Rohr, so many dirty politics and nepotism being displayed. How on earth can a sane coach select a bench warmer in Enyimba ahead of a regular GK in Europe, Dropping a regular defender in top 5 teams in the Bundesliga for someone that is struggling in Liga 2 or Cyprus is criminal (they are just looking for reasons to start jittery Ekong), Dropping serie A player for someone in Cyprus or German 2 is not fair..
Has Nwakali done better than Amoo in the current season ? Can we compare Ighalo’s performance to Desser ?
No sane organization or coach will select Noble, Omeruo, Shehu, Collins, Nwakali, and Ighalo ahead of Adeleye, Akpoguma, Ebuehi, Bassey, Amoo, and Desser.
What’s the issue with Lookman, Ejaria and VM ?
Picnic is written all over these abnormalities.
I hope SE will not pay dearly for this unfairness.
GOD bless you @Mr Larry.
As for Dessers, he should just nationalize for another country and stop waiting on a politically corrupt nation like Nigeria
As for the list, coach Eguavon, really disappointed himself not me. I’m really angry with him
Ladies and gentlemen this is ni-ge-ria(in hausa voice) where politics is chosen ahead of merit
As for afcon, the tournament will expose whoever does not merit to be there. You can’t cheat nature
Hahaha is this the same Chinenye??? Lmao!! Are you not the one who called me all sort of names that Ighalo will not make Eguavoen’s list?? I doff my hat you o.
Broda. I have been left speechless n utterly disappointed with this list with regards to the omission of AKPOGUMA, Dessers, Ebhuehi, Lookman, Bassey n Ejaria. Pinnick isn’t the problem. I strongly believe that Shehu Diko in that NFF is the real problem Nigeria football n NFF is having. He is the enforcer of the norther interest in all our national teams. Left to Pinnick, most of those foreign born will be in this team. Anyway many of these players will expose themselves to a point they will end up never ever come near our national teams again. Ndah has potentials for sure but only for the future n certainly not in the class of Bassey talkless of AKPOGUMA. What is Shehu, Collins, etc doing in that list. Another chance given to local coaches to perform so we don’t return to foreign……WE ARE WATCHING AS IT WILL BE VERY VERY SAD TO LET THIS OPPORTUNITY SLIP.
Hehehehe, Glory, If Dikko is the Enforcer of northern interests, you is the enforcer of southern interests on behalf of Omeruo, Ndah and Nwakali….?? LMAOooo.
Imagine leaving out the likes of Akpoguma, Bassey, Ejaria and Lookman….LMAOoooo.
@ Drey from close source, Shehu Diko has always being against our foreign born players, for they are bad business to him and his group, since most of foreign born players already have established football agents. He prefers the local grown, simply for his selfish gains through signing ons. Remember he is the one in charge of our local league. Also he is the brain behind Musa and Shehu strange, undeserved continous invitation to the SE, majorly to protect the northern quota in the national team, knowingfully well that one solid performance from the likes of Lookman, Ejaria, Dessers, Akpoguma or Bassey will make it almost impossible to reclaim those slots, which then will translate to bad business for him and his criminal group. These were the negatives Rohr was actually fighting against but finally succumbed to, culminating into poor performances and eventually his sack. My disappointment with Rohr is letting his guard down. He should have carried on with his very high standard/transparent method of players invitation daring anyone to sack him which if they did then, could have seen he live with huge huge respect. But sadly, despite playing ball with these disguised thieves calling themselve football administrators, they still got him sacked..
Hhahahaha Glory…..how does foreign vs local born debate correlate with Ahmed Musa and Shehu and Northern Interests….LMAoooo
Please help as ask that your “close source” who is the enforcer of southern interests on behalf of Noble, Omeruo, Ndah, Iwuala and Nwakali….?? Or are these one all northerners and in our local league too ……LMAOoooo
Lolzzzz. Glory and his “close source”. The guy too like conspiracy theories. Simple question Drey ask he no fit answer. If Shehu Dikko is the godfather of northern players, who is the godfather of southern players like Ighalo? Lolzzzz. I like Glory sha.
@ Drey don’t worry, you will know more about that northern interest, when that” local content” thing becomes the modules and especially if Eguavoen goes on to win the AFCON. JUST LIKE YOU DIDN’T SEE NDAH INVITATION COMING.
@ Drey I don’t enjoy talking or writing much. BUT TRY KNOW THIS ” AN AGENDA IS ALWAYS A PROCESS THAT INITIAL DISGUISES ITSELF”
Based on the list, our starting 11 should be
John Noble
Shehu. Omeruo. Ekong. Collins
Olisah Ndah
Moses Simon . Ahmed Musa
Joe Aribo
Odion Ighalo . Alex Iwobi
With this squad, we will win the Afcon with games to spare.
I am not an expert, but I beg to defer with this list.
My final list would have been:
1. Okoye
2. Uzoho
3. Akpeyi
Those 3 are enough for the goal keeping department.
Now, I would have gone for 9 defenders, 6 midfielders and 10 forwards.
Defenders:
1. Aina
2. Ebuehi
3. Balogun
4. Ekong
5. Akpoguma
6. Awaziem
7. Calvin Bassey
8. Zaidu
9. Omeruo
I am sorry there will be no space for Collins but shehu will be drafted to the midfield.
Now my 6 midfielders will be:
1. Onyeka
2. Ndidi
3. Aribo
4. Iwobi
5. Amoo ( although he plays better from the wings)
6. Shehu.
This midfield gives 3 attacking midfielders (amoo, iwobi and Aribo), 3 defensive midfielders (Onyeka, Ndidi and Shehu) and 2 Central midfielders (Aribo and Shehu).
Note: If Etebo were fit, he would have taken Shehu’ space.
Forward:
1. Samuel Chukwueze
2. Chidera Ejuke
3. Ahmed Musa
4. Ademola Lookman
5. Dennis
6. Ihaenacho
7. Awoniyi
8. Osimhen
9. Sodiq
10.Ighalo
Moses Simon will sadly loose is place in this team.
Also this is a team of 28 players but I am sure that not more than 23 will feature at last.
Desser did not make it because I already have players like him in Ighalo and although Sodiq plays in a lower division, his height can give another dimension to a game and unlike Paul, he has good ball control and speed even though not as good Paul at heading.
For the maximum viewing plaesure of my contri pipo

Which kind idah be this @jimmy please stop supporting rubbish.
How could you saw a player like this is super eagles material
I may be wrong on this but remember CAF allows each team to present 22 or 23 players but the remaining 6 or 5 players would only be supported by their FA?
Did the BFF ask Akpoguma to foot his traveling bills and he refused? NADA might have been eager to dance to the tune. Before you crucify me, I may be wrong.
Omeruo, Musa have no business in that team for whatever reason and for all I care.

This is the same defender they tell us is a better choice than Akpoguma…LMAoooo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMVQ92WhbYg
This is the defender who has not made even list to players to train with the SE before, making our 28 man AFCON list directly
@Dr.Drey… You have so much idle time. What your point uploading videos from games Olisah Ndah played like 2years ago in 2019?
Hahahahaha… I am surprised you have not accused me of bribing Eguaveon to include Olisah Ndah in the 28man list.
Since you posted these videos the last time in your propaganda against the youngman and his exploits in South Africa still earned him his spot won’t you just go and rest?
I know you will definitely get a meltdown the moment the youngman was on the list… This shows how Gernot Rohr was stunting players careers… Ebuehi and Akpoguma ommision should be blamed on Rohr because he sideline those guys.
The list is a good list… Umeruo is more suited to Africa game than Akpoguma and besides Akpoguma has not been too fit with injuries every now and then… Let’s support Eguaveon and the team and stop posting childish propaganda videos from years back of players we want to discredit… It’s useless! I am not angry anymore about Musa because on his day he can bring it on… he is now playing imoactful roles in his club, again Ighalo is preferred to Onuachu who has even gone out to injury. Osimhen can be fit as from January 15, 2022 fully so why all the noise. The team is good enough… Let players who missed out go and fight in their clubs and they will be back again.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDjWnVPFbTc
The said we are uploading 2019 videos. I guess his matches at Orlando pirates are still 2019 vidoes….LMAOOoo.
This is the defender liars are telling us “has IMPROVED”
They said we are circulating propaganda….LMAOOoo
Thank God Youtube videos dont lie. Else pathetic liars will claim Dr.Drey doctored the videos, since they never stop at anything to want to malign Dr.Drey’s name….LMAOooo
This is a defender who has never been even listed to train with the SE being callously justified with all sorts of lies as a better inclusion as against a 4 cap Bundesliga defender with 5 goal contributions in 17 matches already this season…LMAOOoo
I hope this video too is from 2019….LMAOooo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rgyRsUMzJs
Am still skeptical about this list. Thought we had a 37 man squad list, so why 28 now. Who actually submitted this 28man list, because another news outlet owngoal claimed the inclusion of more players was denied by CAF. Taking Ahmed Musa is a very dangerous risk for me. Would have preferred Kevin to Ndah. Well i see a more attacking approach to our games now. I Just hope and pray some of this guys will not sabotage this tournament. Some of them are Rorh loyalist and would do anything to send a message to those at NFF.
Jimmy you dey that parrot mouth. We all know the inclusion of Ighalo and Musa is not worth it. For political reasons, they have no choice but be taken. Let that parrot keep running his mouth. He can go hug transformer when the tournament begins. Unearthing videos of many years ago, to prove what point looks so childish.
Hahahahaha…jimmylie’s liliputian slave boy….LMAOooo…even youtube is a parrot mouth. Videos of november/december 2021 are “videos of many years ago”.
Bunch of pathetic liars…LMAoooo.
Birds of same feather truly lie…sorry….flock together…LMAOooo
Oga he dey pain you say ur oyinbo albino no carry naija go nations cup. And for your info with that asslicker commenting, the video of Ndah you displayed against togo is old. So you decide to judge a player by a 10 minute vido. Am not surprised when you kuku don talk say ball control is not part of training. You obviously pained you don’t have epistle to write to justify the inclusion of certain players. More so when brian idowu was taken to the world cup, please was he part of the team from the get go.
Abi he also bribed his way in like some of you are claiming nwakali and ndah came into the team. If players from cypriot league can make the national team, so also is any player from SA league
You and your cohort liars don’t have shame talking bla….bla….bla with no sense. You called the video of Nda in the colour of Pirates “video of many years”? So tell me when did Nda join Orlando Pirates?
So in all honesty do you agree with Ogunefan that this passenger in the defence is better than Akpoguma, Ebuehi, Izochukwu, Ozormwafo, Bassey etc. How did his name gatecrash into this team baffles me.
Do you guys know that Ogunefon is the mentor for Nwakali and that explains how he was chosen ahead of Amoo.
Suddenly the LUFWOO Team has no qualms about Ighalo, Musa and Shehu simply because it was ‘your own” that picked them, Nigerians never seize to amaze me. All the reasons for calling Rohr names has simply evaporated when Ogunefon did worse things.
Let’s now wait and see the special tactical acumen of your moon god Ogunefon, if he does not come back with AFCON trophy with a team like this, then he will be regarded as a Dumb-Ass Failure
Wishing SE all the best next month but am not convinced Ogunefon is the right man for the job, his 2006 failure with the best talented squad broke my heart into pieces
Here are more “propaganda” and “videos of many years ago” of the most improved Central defender of Nigerian origin who has never been invited to even pass a night in SE camp but has made our 28 man list to Cameroon ahead of Akopguma and Bassey who can even play muliple positions….LMAOoooo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYur96F1uCg
This is the CB who “understands” African football….LMAOooo
Eya, it’s a pity.
Yes Drey. You’re correct. Another big error and nonesense. But let’s see what happens. Let’s move on. God will save eguavon and he fauks to win afcon. Then he will also see the other sides of us.
This is an old thread nah.
I want to draw the attention of current super eagles couch Agustin to do All what he can do to win afcup this year
All of a sudden, the South African league that cannot supply enough quality players to its national team to qualify for even AFCON (2 qualifiers per group o) became a better league than the Bundesliga and Scottish Premier League…..LMAOooo.
All of a sudden 4 caps isnt enough to judge a player but a players who has been a disaster for both CHAN and U23 teams and has never been anywhere close to the gates of the SE camp has been better judged and suited to go to cameroon….LMAOooo
Ndah is currently nursing a knee injury that has kept him out of his club’s last 2 matchday sqauds…….someone should help us explain to us how he made our 2022 AFCON squadlist without setting foot in the SE camp…..LMAOooooo
We understand Nwakali’s case, he had given the coach “A CALL” and the coach had confessed in the media “I like the boy” even though he has contributed and still contributes NOTHING to SD HUESCA in a second division….LMAOOoo…..but with his contract running to an end by June 2022, even Huesca I am sure arent keen on renewing his contract since then often do not miss him if/when he’s not available. So He apparently and urgently needs some marketing to at least get a contract renewal or another average club somewhere has there is nothing to show in terms of performance for almost 4 seasons….LMAOooo
Shame nor gree them complain o…..LMAOooo. Instead they’ve been seraching for whataboutries and more lies to justify their disappointments….LMAOooo
I still dey laugh o. Apologies to Pa Obasanjo.
Na sidon look we dey.
See how God exonerates and vindicates the just….! LMAOooo.
Abeg barman, you get King Sunny Ade’s record “The merciful God” dia…? Hit me with the muzik man….LMAOooo…and refill my glass please, make we sidon look the watch the drama wey our 9-wise men dey cook for us.
We have kuku told them….LMAOooo. Our Afcon and WC tickets had better be at the NFF secretariat by March….otherwise…na PowerPoint we go use display wetin HELL look like for them o…..LMAOoooo
It is a broken record
More of a drunkard, weird.
No, like he needs help.
I have said here categorically that I am not representing any thing but Nigeria and Nigeria is big than any coach.
Why Eguavoen would allow Amaju Pinnick to control him like this.
This is not Mr. No nonsense I used to know.
His 2006 Afcon squad was balanced compared to this shabby list.
What is Ighalo, Akpeyi, John Noble and Shehu doing on this list?
Why not Dessers, Akpoguma, Adeleye, Bassey not included on this list?
I am not Oga Rohr followers that followed the former world class coach blindly. Mr. Eguavoen fumbled on this.
I have warned you Nigerians and I am still going to warn you again. Let’s find a way to send Amaju Pinnick away from our football. That is the only solution.
This is clearly show that Amaju is in charge of this list.
We have Adeleye and Osagwe but NFF opted for Akpeyi and John Noble? What is Ighalo doing on this list? I don’t know. He lacks peaceand strength to compete for ball. This is very frustrating.
Out of our strikers, who can compete with Dessers? Just name one striker that have Dessers qualities?
I am happy that Nwakali made the final list but I am also disappointed that Mr. Eguavoen left out Ebuehi, Dessers, Adeleye, Osagwe and Bassey.
If you Eguavoen do not impress in Cameroon, it will take forever for we Nigerians to have any interest to bring you indigenous coaches back to the national team.
There’s no much difference between you Eguavoen and Oga Rohr based on this list.
About your ability, you are way ahead of Oga Rohr but you would have value your image and dignity rather than listening to Amaju Pinnick that have no respect and good attitude for no one. I am not convinced that this is the best team to represent Nigeria in Cameroon.
It is a shame that our oppressors have taken over the Super Eagles. Amaju Pinnick, your days are numbered in that office. I will never support this. God bless Nigeria!!!
Hahahaahah…..useless old fool. Pathetic liar. Keep changing names all around like a deranged hobo…..LMAOOO. A 6 year old at Abidjan 84 still a 7 year old at Yaounde 2022…..LMAOOO.
Your sins are beginning to find you out…LMAOOO
The confusion that will destroy you has just started descending upon you…..LMAOO.
Apart from the striking options, that list looks more 419 to me going by inclusion and exclusion of some players.
Niger people will never change, can anybody tell me any other African country going to afcon with 4 goal keepers.
Why wasting slots unnecessarly. Apart from taiwo, denis and saudiq this list looks very ordinary to me.
Fool of bench warmers.
Obviously you new to soccer to be asking such questions. Is it 28 man squad requested by CAF or 23. No position is guaranteed until everyone is tested and trusted

Full of bench warmers.
That’s how it usually starts.
Ok, like play like play.
I share your sentiments @Edoman. Balogun is just recuperating from injury lay off and AKPOGUMA has been part of the squad before and so knows the team better. How an NDAH sneaked in at the expense of the former still beggars belief walahi.
Also I thought AMOO will be our trump card, our joker…a repeat of Mutiu Adepoju at Senegal 92. We are already well covered at the DM/CM position (ONYEKA, NDIDI, Aribo, SHEHU…though not a fan of his), so NWAKALI who is not a regular with HUESCA shouldn’t be on the plane ahead of AMOO.
Ebuehi of course was sacrificed for SHEHU (political slot).
If we must go with NWAKALI because CEREZO fancies him, then an inactive JOHN NOBLE should have been.dropped for AMOO.
But hey, Egauavoen/NFF have submitted their list; let’s pray he gets his tactics and team selections right.
Truth is NFF has arm twisted EGUAVOEN who in turn SMUGGLED in one or two of gis proteges.
The day all these rubbish will stop is when NFF hires a WORLS CLASS coach who will not pander to their whims and caprices.
The deed is done…the least we are expecting is a SILVER MEDAL.
@Mahmud… I have watched over 10ganes of Nwakali thus season and he is a regular.
You know I seldom disagree with you @JIMMYBALL (infact that loquacious Dr can swear on his Father’s grave we are both the same persons), but on NWAKALI; if you read my position above wella, between him and AMOO on current form and promise of that extra buzz and razzmataz in our AM, I will settle for AMOO.
Of course Eguavoen likes him and that made him a certainty. Still SE and Naija problem; favouritism, nepotism, tribalism.
I didnt see NDA coming though you wrote about him a couple of weeks ago. If the coaches had no faith in AKPOGUMA (for whatever reasons) then I would’ve preferred SEMI AJAYI (I rate him higher than OMEROU on current form) or IZUCHUKWU wjo plays regularly in Israel whuch Is a higher league than the SA league.
For NOBLE…its clear he is CHOICE from above, just like Ighalo, Shehu
The deed is already done….lets pray and hope we do well.
Go Eagles…fly to a GOLD MEDAL podium finish or kiss SE goodbye Egauvoen and his 8 wisemen
Lol
Division 2 players in the squad – sodiq, Collins, Omero, and Nwakali
Division 1/ Top division players left out – Dessers, Akpogunma, Bassey, Lookman, Amoo, Ebuehi, Kalu, Onyekuru..
Not everyone can make the squad but I’m not sure about certain names on this squad. I wonder what names would have been missing if Caf didn’t expand the list to 28. Will Musa and Ighalo make a 23 man squad??
Truth be told Nda has no reason to be on this list. Has never been in the super eagles and walks str8 into the team ahead of a Bundesliga player that has been part of the team. Let’s call a spade a spade and quit the bs this particular player has some NFF Godfather. Even Semi Ajayi would have been a better choice. This is a prelude to the kind of selections we will see with this new Bribe taking coaching crew Aigbohun and Salisu’s handwork in this lol let’s see what the team has to offer in a couple of weeks..
Brother… If Semi Ajayi went to AFCON, will he play? He is a good player but he was given enough opportunity under Rohr but he was never convincingly above anybody… then his team got related and he is in championship.
A lot of people commenting on Ndah as using his U-23 outing… in 2019. I hated him then because he gave away a penalty with which CIV handed us a defeat… Since then he has gone on to hell Akwa United win NPFL convincingly and has become a regular central defence stalwart for Orlando Pirates… he has improved massively. We have seen Akpoguma and he still has work to do, you want to play Akpoguma against Senegal and Cameroon and let African yam and plantain munchers end his Nigerian career before it started?
The list released for debated for long and its best we have our 28players already after all the coach and sacking distractions. Maybe Dessers will have come in for Sadiq but he isn’t a starter for Feyenoord, and I still feel he would be going to AFCON if not for Ighalo’s return.
Let’s support the team and learn to accept the fact there is nothing a tone can do now… I believe if Dessers and Amoo continue well, they will both become mainstay in the team after both Nations Cup and Qatar… but players who fail to impress in Cameroon will make way.
Bassey could have replaced Collins but Rohr never allowed us see what the young man could do and Dessers actually only found his MOJO sitting on bench for a full season for Onuachu who is also not a regular for Eagles…
@Omo9ja, in life you can’t have it all. You clamored for Nwakali, you got it!, you said you want Sodiq, you got him!!, Dennis should be invited, the coach obliged!!!, but been the Oliver Twist that you still want more.
I can get it all because I am not a loser.
I don’t follow people blindly I keep saying this.
Dessers did what he can to be in Cameroon, is Ighalo better than him? Even when Ighalo used to be Ighalo, half Dessers, Ighalo can not compete with him. So, what is Ighalo name is doing on that list is what I don’t understand.
Why Akpeyi and John Noble when we have Adeleye and Osagwe?
Indeed, I asked for Nwakali, Sodiq and I got them but leaving Ebuehi, Dessers, Bassey and Akpoguma out of this list is something I am still thinking about right now.
Most especially Dessers and Ebuehi.
I understand that Ejaria and Lookman are totally new. They will be part of the team if we make it to Qatar. But Ebuehi and Dessers? I will never forgive Amaju and Eguavoen for this.
This is not Eguavoen list but Amaju/NFF list.
Go to every where on social media now, Nigerians are angry with Eguavoen, Amaju and NFF.
This is a great opportunity for us to win Afcon trophy in Cameroon because of our fantastic players are inform of their lives at the moment but the list is far from that. Corruption, no transparency, tribalism and selfishness were the reasons behind this list.
If we win the Afcon in Cameroon good for Nigeria but if they disgrace themselves in Cameroon, they are on their own.
Ighalo in and Dessers our? Too bad.
Akpeyi and John Noble in and Adeleye and Osagwe out? Haba, what is all this?
Ebuehi out and Shehu in? Something is wrong some where.
This is why it will be harder for Nigeria to move forward. We are not chosen the right people to run our system.
What is Agu, Amaju, Diko and Sheyi still doing with our football.
@Babad, I’m not a mediocre person who celebrate less quality. This list is nothing but 419. I’m speechless. God bless Nigeria!!!
During Rohr’s era, some people were ranting and wailing; What’s Shehu doing in the team, Moses Simon has no business in this team, Why is Rohr still inviting Collins when we have Bassey, What’s Omeruo’s name doing on the list, Rohr has collected bribe from Ighalo, Musa is no longer needed in Super Eagles, Akpeyi is a waste of space in the team etc.
I guess the rangers and wailers now know better.
Olisa NDA is the son of Ndubuisi NDA a for player for Nigeria….. I’m sure his buddies in the nff helped to smuggle his son into the team…Naija which way.
I’m afraid SE may just be gradually returning to the days of Igbonu ahead of Ighalo, Onobi ahead of Mikel, and having undeserving players on our bench during serious tournaments.
I remember how the late Keshi had no bench at the world cup, with the likes of Uchebo, Nwofor, Oshaniwa, Odunlami, Uzoenyi etc making the cut ahead of Taiwo, Igiebor, Ikechukwu Uche, Obasi, Ogude etc.
The inclusion of Olisa Ndah and John Noble is a pointer to the fact that the NFF stinks and they have appointed a coach that will dance to their tune.
If the local coaches continue to be at the helm of affairs in SE, our rating will go back to where it was before Rohr and our calculator merchants will be back to business in few months.
@Dayo, pray there is no market around him. Mad pipl don’t see.
Dayo, it’s like he is already inside. They mostly snore early morning.
hmmmmm! It’s already boxing day, what a rest.
@ Dayo:
Imagine, he had to type a whole book just to tell us his choice Eagles weren’t selected. Normal people does that in 3 lines.
When is the opening ceremony?
(mad pipl don’t sleep)
I guess I am late to the table.
I am partially displeased with the list.
It is like dejavu of the 2014 world cup. We are going over there to the Afcon with some bullet less when we need all our quality armoury.
How did Olisah Ndah get on there? Over an Akpoguma; who was part and parcel through the qualifiers and also play in a better league.
Ndah over Bassey! That makes no sense. The latter now has key role in his team in Scotland. Besides, He is versatile. Being a lefty that can play both Centre Back,Side back and wing back.
Ebuehi continuous omission has always left me in awe. That guy tactically and technically good. He is one of our best right backs and recently , he has been playing in the left back as well.
Enough said about Ighalo,Musa ,Noble and Shehu , the better.
Well, there is no point nagging. The chariot is already on the way to the battlefield. We just hope when they get there the wheels doesn’t pull off.
It is imperative to add; no matter our stance, Rohr did his part and is gone. The grudge against Rohr was primarily on the field. Tactics and style of play. We would judge Eguavoen (or whomever takes the team to the Afcon) based on that as well. The yardstick doesn’t change. We still want nothing but gold. We still want nothing but qualifying for the world cup. And we definitely want to play good doing so. It is just what it is. It is never personal.
Our loyalty is always to the Super Eagles. Players come and go . So do Coaches.
Patiently waiting to see how things turns out.
Thank you @hush. I wonder why some people can’t move on. Our grudge against rohr has to do with his style of play and how he kept some players away from the team. But now, we move on. If eguavon fails yo deliver, he gets the stick too. Simple. I no be family with anyone of them.
Why don’t you criticize Eguavon the same you lead the critictism of Rohr? It’s now you know we should support and be patient with coaches, hypocrite!
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT!
The attention of this great club “Let Us Fail With Our Own” has been drawn to the negative remarks that has followed the inclusion of Olisah Ndah in the 28 man list of the super eagles.
Please do note that he is the candidate and choice of our amiable president @JimmyBall.
So we hereby call for his choice and candidate to be respected as any further disrespect from anybody whosoever will incure the wrath of our president.
Thank you and happy boxing day!
