Danish giants FC Copenhagen have confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Akinkunmi Amoo on a permanent contract until 2026.
Amoo, 19, linked up with Copenhagen from Swedish club Hammarby IF in a deal worth €4.4 m.
The former Nigeria U-17 international scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in 48 appearances for Stockholm club Hammarby, who he joined as a youth player.
He is the second Nigerian at the club following Paul Mukairu’s arrival from Turkish outfit Antalyaspor last week.
For Amoo, the change from the Swedish to the Danish capital is an important step forward in his career, and one that he is looking forward to.

“I have had a fantastic time at Hammarby, and I have great respect for the club and the fans there,” the teenager told the club’s official website.
“They gave me the chance and believed in me and I will never forget that.
“Therefore, I am also very happy that the clubs have made an agreement that both parties are happy with. Ever since I heard about the possibility of coming to F.C. Copenhagen I have hoped that it could be done.
“FCK is an international club with ambitions to compete against the biggest teams in Europe, and I was really attracted to be part of these ambitions.
“There have been other opportunities for me along the way, but I feel that FCK is the correct next step for me in terms of career. Here I can develop and learn a lot together with the fantastic players that the club already has.
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge and to stepping into Parken, which is a fantastic stadium with passionate fans.”

Chelsea star Hudson-Odoi agrees to play for Ghana against Nigeria in world cup qualifier play off.
Guys, Ghana FA is seriously working and preparing for success against Nigeria.
NFF have you followed up on the switch of Lookman, Olise, Eze? What about calling Victor Moses, Dennis, Bassey, Alhassan, keeper Adeleye & other few shot stoppers, Samuel Kalu, Dessers, et al., ???
NFF start now, no time wasting. We need to be at the World cup by November, 2022.
Get us these players without any monetary condition;
Arrange friendlies in the next FIFA window where the Coach can assess some of these players in camp and try out different tactics…. Pls, pls pls!
Shalom!!!
I don’t think he can play against Nigeria. He can play for Ghana at the WC in Qatar, but not sure he can play against Nigeria.
Criteria to switch is that the player can switch international allegiance if he hasn’t played more than 3 games for the senior team before the age of 21. He meets this criteria as his last competitive game was in Nov 2019 against Kosovo. However, the player has to wait 3 years to switch so Nov 2022. If he plays against us then it’s free 3 points bcos he’ll be ineligible.
@Nosa ; well done for the super questions.
Only Eguafon can explain why this wonder boy was not invited as Rohr himself had included him in his 40 man list; until he waited till last minutes, loosening one great slot
Wishing you the best ahead another version of our the then Amokachi
You can’t tell me this guy is 19
