Barcelona have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Sevilla for the transfer of French defender Jules Kounde.
The Catalan giants stated this on their website on Thursday.
Kounde, whose transfer is said to be in the region of €50 million, becomes Barcelona’s fifth signing following the acquisition of Franck Kessie, Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen and Raphinha.
The statement from Barcelona read:”Barcelona and Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jules Olivier Kounde, awaiting the player passing a medical and the signing of contracts.
“Jules Kounde was born in Paris on November 12, 1998. His family originally came from Benin. He started playing for small clubs in the outskirts of Bordeaux in south-eastern France. He first passed a trial at the age of 14 years old and joined the youth ranks of the professional team, FC Girondins de Bordeaux.

“He didn’t look back and on January 7, 2018, at the ripe old age of 19 years old, the French defender debuted with the first team in a French Cup game against Granville. Despite the team losing, Kounde’s performance meant he had the chance to stake a claim in the Girondins defence and ended up playing 18 of the 19 remaining games in the French league.
“He was a regular starter the following season, and despite his youth, he was fast becoming one of the most promising central defenders in France and across Europe. This led Sevilla to pay 25 million Euro for his services, the most expensive signing for the Andalusian club at the time.
“Kounde quickly justified his transfer fee for Sevilla and found his starting spot in Julen Lopetegui’s team. In fact, he was one of the players that would end up lifting the Europa League at the end of the season, the centre back’s first title in his career.
“His good performance led to him being called up to the France squad for the European Championships last summer. He debuted with les bleus during friendly games in the run up to the tournament, in which he also featured. He was also part of the squad that lifted the UEFA Nations League after beating Spain in the final, the Frenchman’s first international triumph.”

Nonsense, why did you waste 55 for a dwarf while you are in 1 billion euros debt and owing de jong alone 17 m euros and owing 350+ m on transfers. And you say you are in debt but you are the highest spending team in the world for this season, cause signing kounde was not necessary because you have good players in that position already aruajo, Christensen, Eric, pique etc why buy more considering your financial situation.
They want the best besides some of your listed players and more will be sold or loaned.
They want a crack squad to challenge their bitter rivals,Real Madrid who beat them to the la Liga crown last season.
Can you shut the hell up you ignorant fool. You sound so stupid and uncultured..I bet you support Man U…do a little research before you come here to embarrass your mom who bore so many bastards.
