Fulham defender Denis Odoi has backed interim manager Scott Parker to be handed the position on a permanent basis.
Former England international Parker was put in temporary charge of the Cottagers until the end of the season following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri in February.
The 38-year-old has, so far, been unable to turn Fulham’s fortunes around, as they have lost all three of their matches since his appointment and they remain second-bottom of the Premier League standings – a full 13 points adrift of safety.
Despite their poor form, Belgian defender Odoi has now revealed that all the players are fully behind Parker and they hope to see him appointed as permanent manager as soon as possible. “The team likes the way that he wants to play,” Odoi told Sky Sports.

“Some of us have played with Scott, we understand the way he approaches football and we respect that. “The group is behind him and want to do a good job, not just for ourselves but also for Scott as a coach. “That’s why I am saying we want to do as well as possible to give him a chance to progress his career as a manager.” Fulham have lost 11 of their last 12 Premier League games and things won’t get any easier for the Cottagers on Saturday, as they are set to welcome champions Manchester City to Craven Cottage.
