Ogoh Odaudu, the coach who led Rivers Hoopers to their inaugural Basketball Africa League (BAL) Playoffs appearance, has signed a short-term contract with Rwanda Energy Group Basketball Club.
Rivers Hoopers confirmed Odaudu’s departure on their official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, August 25. The club announced that Odaudu will return after the conclusion of his short-term deal.

“With the club’s blessings, Rivers Hoopers can confirm that head coach Ogoh Odaudu has joined Rwanda Energy Group Basketball Club on a short-term contract,” the statement reads.
The club also noted that Odaudu will rejoin Rivers Hoopers after his loan deal ends to prepare for the upcoming 2024 Nigeria Premier Basketball League (NPBL) season.
Odaudu, who has also served as an assistant coach for Nigeria’s national team, D’Tigers, guided Nigeria’s representative to a third-place finish in the 2024 BAL season.
