Former Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona is upbeat the team will secure a place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, reports Completesports.com.
The three-time African champions will face Cape Verde, Central Africa Republic and Liberia in Group C of the second qualifying round.
Gernot Rohr’s men are the overwhelming favourites to scale through the hurdle in the group and Oboabona is confident they will get the job done.
”A very decent draw for
@NGSuperEagles
, although there are no easy games at the moment, I believe we’ll qualify. No tension!,”Oboabona tweeted.
The group winner will qualify to the final round which will comprise 10 teams.
The group stage qualifiers will run from October 2020 to October 2021.
The group winners will advance to the final two-legged, home and away knock out round in November when Africa’s five representatives in Qatar will be decided.
