Reacting to Yobo’s appointment, Oboabona likened it to how Arsenal and Chelsea appointed Mikel Arteta and Frank Lampard, their former players, as managers.
“We’re doing it the Chelsea and Arsenal way. Congrats skippo of life, Joseph Yobo, I wish you all the very best. Go and succeed,” Oboaboa wrote on his Twitter handle.
Both Oboabona and Yobo were in the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
They also featured at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
