Super Eagles 2018 World Cup star Simeone Nwankwo continued his impressive scoring form after netting two goals in Crotone’s 5-1 away bashing of relegated Livorno in Friday’s Serie B game, to ensure that the Giovanni Stroppa’s side bagged their promotion to Serie A with two rounds of games remaining in the campaign Completesports.com reports.
The win stakes Crotone to an unassailable 65 points that guarantees them a second-place finish behind runaway champions, Benevento, in the Serie A table.
Corotone’s promotion confirmation on Friday was aided by Spezia’s failure to beat Cremonese later same night. It ended goalless at the Stadio Giovanni Zini, leaving the challengers for promotion hopeless on 56 points.
Nwankwo, 28, scored Crotone’s third goal in the 35th minute and fifth goal in the 59th minute from the penalty spot.

Crotone’s other scorers were Niccolo Zanellato (31st minute) and Alberto Gerbo (40th minute).
Mattia Trovato had given Livorno the lead just 12 minutes into the game.
Nwankwo now tops the Serie B scorers chart on 20 goals and has scored seven goals in his last five games.
Crotone are second (one of two automatic promotion spots) on 65 points and an unassailable eight points ahead of Spezia, rendering the results of the two sides’ remaining games inconsequential.
Benevento, led by former Italy and AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi, on 83 points, have already secured promotion to Serie A as Serie B champions.

Hahhhaahhhaaaa….nah. You’re getting them wrong o. Omo9ja boy na Onuachu o not Simy. Except he just discovered Simy today
Not trying to undermine the fact that the dude is doing pretty well in Serie B, but that headline though: “Super Eagles 2018 World Cup Star”. What a Paradox from James Agberebi. How would you describe Musa ?
He is a star. It didn’t say he was our best player. Musa was outstanding. To go world cup na beans?
Semy on fire
21goals in all competition and still counting
Congrats Simy. U have shown what it means to have a positive mentality(instead of whining about coach having his already made 1st eleven. U have proven that hard work pays.) Keep soaring high and banging in goals like no man’s business. We the fans of Super Eagles are solidly behind u. See u next season in Seria A.
Chai! @Mr Harry your comment made my day abeg.
Let me help you go straight to the point. “I hope ONYEKURU is seeing this??”. Simy was just dropped from the squad after the World Cup till date and we never heard him say a word against the Coach or about his experience in the team. Instead, he went back to his club and did the needful which was Hard work with a Right mindset and now the goals are speaking for him already. Even the Coach can’t ignore him at this time. That’s how to live.
Simy Nwankwo’s Crotone Fc Has Gained Promotion To Serie A.. CONGRATULATIONS.
By the time the season ends in Italy simmy could likely not be the highest top scorer in seria B. Talks are going on to make sure he is displaced to the 3rd position. ….. with 2 games to go.
Who say oyinbo no corrupt.?
