Kelechi Nwakali has arrived the Olympic Eagles’ camp ahead of the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations billed to hold in Egypt next month, reports Completesports.com.
Nwakali was among the players that took part in Thursday’s morning training session at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja training pitch, supervised by the coach, Imama Amapakabo and his assistants.
The former Golden Eaglets captain played an integral part in the qualifiers as the team dispatched Libya and Sudan to book a slot at the 2019 U-23 AFCON finals.
The U-23 Eagles will open their Group B campaign in the tournament against Cote d’Ivoire on November 9 at the Al Salam Stadium Cairo .
They will face Zambia in their second game on November 12th and South Africa on November 15th in the last group fixture. Both games will also be played at the Al Salam Stadium.
Winners, runners up and third placed teams will represent Africa in theb men’s football event of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.
The competition is expected to last for two weeks, from 8 until 22 November, 2019.
