Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme provided two assists in his final Turkish Super League appearance of the season for Trabzonspor in their 3-2 win over Rizespor who paraded three Nigerian, Chidozie Awaziem, Aminu Umar and Okechukwu Azubuike in the defeat on Friday reports Completesports.com.
The 30-year-old, Nwakaeme who ended the season without scoring a goal in his last five league games provided an assist for Hugo Rodallega’s opener in the 20th minute and Abdukadir Omur’s winner in the 43rd minute.
Nwakaeme’s last goal was against Yeni Matalayaspor.
In his debut season for Trabzonspor, the 30-year-old, former Hapoel Beer Sheva star has scored ten goals and made 12 assists in 27 games.
The win further brightens Trabzonspor’s chances of clinching a Europa League group stage qualification.
Meanwhile, Henry Onyekuru who powered Galatasaray to a league double this season in Turkey came on for Badou Ndiaye at half time and could not salvage a point for his side as they slumped to a 4-3 loss away to Sivasspor.
Onyekuru on a season loan from Premier League club Everton scored 16 goals and claimed six assists in all competitions for Galatasaray.
In France, Samuel Kalu came on for Younousse Sankhare in the 67th minute of Bordeaux’s 1-0 win over Caen in a French Ligue 1 game played on Friday.
Sankhare scored the only goal of the game in the 19th minute.
