Anthony Nwaekeme hopes to keep improving at Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor despite his impressive start to life at the club, reports Completesports.com.
Nwaekeme, 29, linked up with Trabzonspor from Isreali club Hapoel B e’er Sheva last summer.
He scored 35 goals in 95 league appearances during his three year stint at B e’er Sheva where he won three Israeli championship titles in a row in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The former Hapoel Ra’anana striker also won the Israeli Premier League best player trophy in 2017.
Nwaekeme bagged a brace in Trabzonspor ‘ s 2-2 away draw against Kasimpasa on Monday.
He has now scored six goals in 17 league appearances for Trabzonspor this season.
” I think we will be much better in the future. I’m not the one who set myself a target. I try to score as many goals as I can and to contribute to my team as much as I can. If you have a target in your mind, you can play wrong when you leave the field,” he told tskulis.com.
“If you have it in your head to score a goal, you will try to score a goal instead of passing to a teammate in a more suitable place in the position you entered. This will damage your team. As long as my team is successful, I don’t think of anything else. In terms of the team, we can only look at it from every angle.”
The Nigeria international is expected to be in action when Trabzonspor host Akhisarspor in a Super Lig on Saturday.
