Rivers United secured top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following a 1-0 win at Lobi Stars on Saturday.
Kabiru Abdullahi bagged the winning goal for Finidi George’s side 11 minutes from time.
Abdullahi’s has now scored three goals for the former NPFL champions this season.
Rivers United top the standings with seven points from three games.

In another matchday three encounter at the Lafia City Stadium, El-kanemi Warriors rallied to beat their hosts Nasarawa United 4-3.
Nasarawa United raced into a two-goal lead through captain Anas Yusuf.
The visitors then fought back with two quick goals from Salihu Nasiru.
El-kanemi Warriors took the lead for the first time in the game through Umar Al Amin.
Yusuf scored his third of the day after the break, while Bright Etaghara netted the winning goal for the away side from the spot in stoppage time.
