League leaders Rivers United maintained top spot on the table after edging out Kano Pillars 1-0 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
Forward Nyima Nwagua scored the winning goal against his former club 20 minutes from time.
Plateau United defeated Lobi Stars 2-0 at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi with Chimezie Izuchukwu and Albert Hilary scoring the goals.
Champions Akwa United beat Wikki Tourists 2-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
Adamu Yakubu put the hosts in front in the 49th minute, while Leo Ezekiel doubled the advantage a minute later.
In Aba, Victor Mbaoma scored against his former club Remo Stars, who lost 2-1 against Enyimba.
