Rivers United defeated Heartland 3-1 in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday two encounter in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
Taofeek Otaniyi gave Finidi George’s side the lead on three minutes with Aniekeme Okon providing the assist.
Heartland however fought back with Christian Molokwu netting the equaliser in first half added time.

Rivers United regained the lead through Kabir Abdullahi’s in the 68th minute.
Abdullahi scored his second goal of the game in stoppage time.
The win was the Port Harcourt side first of the season
Heartland remain winless after two games.
