Yemi Olanrewaju took charge at Enyimba on the first day of pre-season training on Friday, reports Completesports.com.
The training took place at the main bowl of Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Olanrewaju was appointed interim head coach in May after his former boss Finidi George left to take charge of the Super Eagles.
Finidi is currently head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League outfit Rivers United.
The young tactician rejected the chance of a reunion with Finidi at Rivers United after talks with Enyimba chairman Nwankwo Kanu.
The former Golden Eaglets assistant coach will now take full charge of the People’s Elephant in the 2024/25 season.
Enyimba finished third in the NPFL last season and will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Aba giants were drawn bye in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The two- time African champions will face the winner of the preliminary round tie between Guinea’s Haifa FC and Rahimo of Burkina Faso in the first round.

Here’s the chance for coach Olanrewaju to prove his mettle with the Aba giant. Enyimba’s pedigree both locally and continentally should serve as a motivation for him after the exit of coach Finidi George.
Olanrewaju can become a candidate for a higher profile job should he do well in Eyimba. We are looking at him.
