NPFL: Ogunbote Hails Shooting Stars Players’ Fighting Spirit In Win Over Katsina United

Shooting Stars head coach Gbenga Ogunbote, has attributed his team’s victory against Katsina United to his players’ determination to secure the maximum points.

Ogunbote said the visitors’ players gave it their all, but met a side that was equally determined to get the result .

“It was a good game, the Katsina United players came to play for their coach. It is beyond having a team, but when you have players playing for you, that was what they (Katsina United players) demonstrated.

“They gave it their all, but they had another side here that was determined, that no matter the situation, head or tail, we must win and that was the determination from our side”.

The former Rangers International handler, rued missed chances by his boys, attributing it to anxiety on the part of the players to get the ball in the back of the net.

“Initially, we were robbed of many scoring opportunities due to anxiety. We have not won a game in recent times, and the anxiety to want to score, to take the lead, denied us chances that were easier to score than to lose.

“But the Important thing is, the victory is a big relief for the team, it brings joy and it will make the confidence level to increase. Above all, it was a well deserved win.”
