The management of NPFL side Nasarawa United has resolved their transfer dispute with the intermediary of striker Emmanuel Onyema, with the former Ikorodu City forward agreeing to a loan deal for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season, Completesports.com reports.
Onyema impressed the technical hierarchy of Nasarawa United during trials, scoring twice in three games. However, the Lafia-based club unveiled the star forward without first negotiating with the player’s agent or discussing and agreeing personal terms with the player.

This raised concerns from the player’s intermediary, Yemisi Daniel, who accused the NPFL club of not adhering to professional frameworks.
The matter has now been amicably resolved, with both parties mutually agreeing to set aside their differences and uphold the tenets of professionalism in player transfers.
“We’ll always disagree to agree,” Yemisi Daniel told Completesports.com on Friday afternoon.
“We’ve resolved everything, and Onyema can now play for Nasarawa United in the second stanza of the league starting this weekend.”
Daniel further explained exclusively how the transfer impasse was settled:
“I must commend the president of Nasarawa United [Solomon Babanja]. He understood our position and handled the matter with maturity.
“They drafted an agreement and forwarded it to us. We reviewed it, made our observations, and finally arrived at a common ground in the best interests of the game, the club, and the player,” Daniel said.

“Right now, Onyema will play for Nasarawa United for the remainder of the season. It’s fair to them, to us, to the game, and to the player.”
Nasarawa United will host Katsina United on Saturday, 25 January 2025, in one of the Matchday 20 NPFL fixtures at the Lafia City Stadium, Lafia.
Nasarawa United currently sit in 20th position in the NPFL table on 16 points, while Katsina United are 13th with 23 points.
