Technical Adviser of Plateau United, Mbwas Mangut, has attributed his team’s 3-1 defeat by Abia Warriors in Sunday’s NPFL matchday-8 clash in Umuahia to a ‘loss of concentration and sluggishness’ on the part of his players, Completesports.com reports.
“It was a good game for both sides,” Mangut, a former Assistant Voach at Rangers international under Abdul Maikaba, began.
“We took the lead and tried to control the game, but towards the end of the first half, we lost concentration, and Abia Warriors drew level and then took the lead.
“I think both sides fought really well and deserve credit.”
Mangut went on to reveal other factors that contributed to his team’s collapse in the second half.

He added: “First, we lost focus in our defensive play. And again, without the ball, we were too sluggish. That shouldn’t have happened.”
He also expressed his frustration with some of the officiating decisions during the match against Abia Warriors in Umuahia.
“At times, strange decisions were made. I got angry because of a few of them, but that’s normal.
“That, however, isn’t an excuse for the loss. Abia Warriors took their chances when they came,” Mbwas concluded.
During his playing career, Mangut had a spell at Iwuanyanwu Nationale. A graduate of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) in Lagos, he completed his coaching attachment at Heartland FC.
Plateau United will host Sunshine Stars in a Matchday 9 fixture this weekend, while Abia Warriors travel to face Bendel Insurance.
