Nigeria Premier Football League club Kwara United have sacked 22 players ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Bashir Badawiy, General Manager of the club said that top stars from other clubs have been recruited to fortify the team.
Addressing players and coaching crew of the club on Monday, Badawiy said top quality players have agreed to join the team.
He also called on the retained players to eschew indiscipline and work in tandem with the philosophy of the club and target a continental ticket.
“Our expectation in the 2024/25 NPFL season is to finish among top three, we don’t want to struggle again; check our records in the last two seasons, we were among the top four and even qualified for continental,” he said.
As part of their preparation for the new season, Kwara United will participate in the Valuejet pre-season tournament.
The competition will hold in Ikenne, Ogun State.
