Rangers International players have been granted an extended Christmas and New Year holiday following a decision by Technical Adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu to shift their resumption date, Completesports.com reports.
The players were initially scheduled to return to camp on Friday, 3 January 2025, to begin preparations for the second stanza of the league. However, ‘The Working One,’ as Ilechukwu is fondly called, extended the resumption by one week. The Coal City Flying Antelopes are now expected to reconvene at their Nkponkiti Road Enugu Camp on 10 January.
The seven-time Nigerian champions remain strong contenders for the 2024/2025 NPFL title, occupying fourth place in the standings at the conclusion of the first stanza of the campaign.

“No, we haven’t resumed. The players were originally scheduled to return to camp last Friday, but that date was later extended to this Friday by the TA (Technical Adviser),” the club’s spokesman, Novelty Okolie, confirmed to Completesports.com.
“We’re expecting the players in camp this weekend, with full preparations scheduled to begin on Monday.”
Rangers will host Niger Tornadoes of Minna in a NPFL matchday 20 fixture when the Nigerian domestic top flight resumes on 25 January 2025.
