Ebuka Nwokoecha, Heartland FC’s first-choice goalkeeper, successfully underwent surgery on Thursday following an injury sustained during the Naze Millionaires’ 3-2 defeat to Plateau United in an NPFL matchday 16 fixture in Jos, Completesports.com reports.
The Heartland shot-stopper suffered a career-threatening injury with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game and was substituted by Chisom Chiaha.

Nwokoecha underwent the operation at an undisclosed medical facility in Owerri and has been ruled out for the rest of the year.
“Ebuka (Nwokoecha) was operated on this morning (Thursday), and it was successful,” Emmanuel Amuneke confirmed exclusively to Completesports.com.
Nwokoecha has already missed three matches this season, sitting out fixtures against Enyimba, Rangers, and Bendel Insurance.
