It’s a new dawn at the Pride of Rivers following the sacking of long-serving head coach Stanley Eguma towards the end of last season.
Finidi was appointed new head of the former Nigeria Premier Football League champions last week.
The former Ajax winger signed a two- year contract at the Port Harcourt club.
The 53-year-old previously managed Enyimba for three seasons in the NPFL.
Rivers United finished in disappointing eighth position in the NPFL last season.
