Rivers United head coach, Finidi George has expressed satisfaction with his team’s impressive start to start to the new season.
Finidi masterminded Rivers United’s 2-0 victory over his former club, Enyimba at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions have won three and drawn one of their four opening fixtures.
The Pride of Rivers currently occupy second position on the table with 10 points.

“We are quite happy with our run in the League even if not 100%
perfect,” Finidi told Sports Boom.
“Every game is difficult in the NPFL people don’t know. They just feel
that if you get a draw, you would have won it.”
Finidi also commended the impact of the players’ performances in the fine
run of form.
“I must commend my boys so far for the unbeaten run in the league,” he added.
Rivers United will host struggling Akwa United in their next NPFL game on Sunday.

One thing we can’t take from the man is his doggedness and ability to keep improving himself, man never seat his ass @ home and expect anything for free. Big Up FINITO
He definitely wants to prove himself and repair his image. He initially applied to coach the U17 Golden Eaglets, but NFF instead made him assistant to Paseiro and then the coach. They should have allowed him to start from there or to prove himself in the NOFL first, despite assisting Paseiro.
We’re taking note of Rivers United. I only wished they were also in Africa to compete against the Al-Ahlys, Sundowns, and Esperance.
