The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has fined Bayelsa United N3m for security breach and failure to provide effective crowd control in their matchday 37 encounter against Shooting Stars on Sunday.
Bayelsa United fans encroached the pitch in the second half of the encounter played at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa which forced the game to be suspended for few minutes.
Shooting Stars goalkeeper, Okiemute Odah was also attacked by a supporter of the home team.

Bayelsa Utd are also to pay Odah a compensation fee of N250,000 and also identify and prosecute the culprit of the assault within 48 hours of receiving the notice of sanctions.
The NPFL further stated that failure by Bayelsa Utd to identify, prosecute and provide evidence of prosecuting the culprit may result in additional sanctions.
The league body also announced that the culprit, pending identification and prosecution, is banned from all NPFL match venues for a year.
Bayelsa Utd have 48 hours from the date of notice to appeal the sanctions.
