Stephen Chukwude scored the winning goal as holders Enyimba defeated Heartland 1-0 in their Oriental derby clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Saturday.
Chukwude scored the winning goal for George Finidi’s side seven minutes from time.
It was Enyimba’s first win against Heartland in eight years.
The Aba giants moved to fifth position on the table following the win.
The former African champions will take on Remo Stars in a rescheduled game next week Wednesday.

Heartland remain bottom of the log after extending their winless run to 10 games.
In Ikenne, Remo Stars were held to a 0-0 draw by Doma United.
It’s the first time Remo Stars have failed to win at home in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.
Doma United extended their unbeaten streak to six games.
Seven NPFL matchday 10 fixtures will be played on Sunday.
