Akwa United coach Ayodeji Ayeni believes that his team has all the firepower to record victory against Group A leaders Bendel Insurance in Benin on Wednesday
Coach Ayeni in an exclusive interview with the club’s website www.akwaunitedfc.com revealed that his team is in Benin for serious business, stressing that no team in the NPFL is invincible.
“Wednesday presents us with another opportunity to continue our push for a playoff spot which is our first target this season, so I can boldly say that we are in Benin on a mission.

“There is no doubt that Bendel Insurance is enjoying a good run of form. They came to Uyo and got all three points on the opening day, and we are in Benin to recover the points we lost at home.
“Bendel Insurance are unbeaten after ten matches and that is why they are top of the log but as a coach, I know that every team in this League is beatable, including Bendel Insurance so our mission in Benin is to fight for all three points”.
Coach Ayeni has selected twenty players including youngster Wisdom Ndon who had a decent NPFL debut on Sunday for the crucial game against Bendel Insurance.
Akwa United are second in Group A with 18 points after recording five wins, three draws with two loses in ten games played so far, they will be hoping to close the gap to within three points on the leaders who have six points lead after ten rounds of matches.

Nigeria about to miss yet another Olympic football tournament participation.
No big surprise there.
But to know that this 2nd leg game is being played at a neutral venue and yet we are on the verge of being knocked out after playing the 1st leg at ”home,” is nauseating to say the least.
Coaches not appointed on merit, players not invited on merit and not selected on merit, either.
A microcosm of Nigerian society!
You are so right lovey. Xxx. Salisu Yusuf failed.
The match has ended. Guinea u23 defeated Nigeria u23 by 2 goals to nil.
Shame on salisu Yusuf and nff.
